Wait a second...
Before I launch into an extensive Google search...what exactly am I looking at here?
Or what do we think it is?

What you are looking at is a kayfun V4 chimney and top section installed onto a KFL chimney and base...

There was talk of adapting an Orchid base to the kayfun V4 as well.

If the SilverPlay base would work... You would have quite a device. :)

They must have modified that KFL chimney, because I tried getting the KF4 chimney over it, and it would not fit...

What is this "Gatemouth Kayfun"...?
My Google-Fu returned very little on the subject...

There was a guy a while back making something he called Gatemouth Kayfun's here is one of his eBay listings. It's a little on the rough side.

The one pictured above looks much better and is possibly some of Dave Modz work from Cloud50.

Like these ones here...

Forrrrrrrrrrrrrr...airflow? Yeah. It's gotta be airflow.
Now I just need a modified KFL chimney...

What's the point of the wide air inlet on the base when the center pin (even a milled one) won't flow anywhere near the air that they base inlet will? Has someone (hopefully) figured out a way to increase airflow past what a milled center pill will do?

I still love my kayfuns but I gotta say they have been neglected quite a bit recently due to the lack of airflow compared to all the other wonderful tanks out these days. I already have drilled bases and milled center pins but my lungs tire quickly when using them ;)

I was wondering about the price being British pounds or euro so I emailed them last night.

Hi Robert,
Our prices are in British pounds and include 20% VAT.
If you’re outside the EU region, register an account and logon to it to see the ex-VAT pricing.
Lisa

Right now, this second:
InTaste is 65,42EUR($75.41) shipped
Cloud9 is £57.08($87.89) shipped
VAT is not included in either price.

The problem is Dollar to EUR versus Dollar to Pound.
$1 equals .88EUR, and $1 equals .65 Pound.

Good question, I was kind of wondering myself. You can make the hole in the base as big as you want, won't do any good if you can't get it up to the build deck.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Don't forget your credit card company is likely to charge you a hefty commission to convert the currency.

My credit card charged me $4 for international transaction on a $149 bill. (Had to make it worth the shipping).

Thanks Bad Tain for breaking down the pound/euro equation. I got a bit confused a few pages back. This thread = priceless

Hi everyone, I have a newbee question. What is the purpose of increasing the air flow, to draw more juice into the chamber?

As it turns out, more airflow actually draws less juice into the chamber!
There is a "perfect" balance for each atomizer.
An "airy draw" will pull less juice, whereas a tighter draw will pull more juice.

P.Busardo explains it pretty well in his Nautilus review video...the same principle applies across all tank atomizers.

I can assure you, Chase Bank has never done anything like that to me.

Banks .... They will get you one way or another. If they don't charge a commission, then they will get you by charging a higher currency rate. Some banks do both.

Sounds counter intuitive, and I am having trouble understanding it. Doesn't a larger diameter pipe allow more fluid to flow than a smaller one?

Yes. But we are dealing with a different principle here...

EDIT: Read my next post...it's a much better analogy/explanation...at least I think so!

P.S. EDIT: The explanation I had written here was just a bucket of yuck compared to the my next post, so I deleted it.

OOH!!! Another good one:

Imagine you have two straws in your mouth...
One goes into a can of soda, and one is just out in the open.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1424027962.789582.jpg
Breathe in through both of them, and you'll get air and soda into your mouth...
Now, pinch the AIR straw, but leave the SODA straw alone. Take a draw. The AIR straw pulled in less air didn't it? But the SODA straw pulled in more soda.
That's because the vacuum in your mouth/lungs was focused more on the SODA straw, as the AIR straw was pinched off.
For the purposes of an RTA with airflow control, it would be like being able to precisely pinch the AIR straw to a certain set degree, to control how much focus the mouth/lung vacuum has on the SODA straw.

So I guess, airflow control should really be looked at as a juice flow control...sure it allows or constricts airflow, but its main effect is on the flow of juice!
