For all kayfun lite/provari users. Having the understanding that everything is subjective.

What is a recommended starting point/sweet spot build for the kayfun lite plus and the provari?

I currently build my kayfun to 28ga, 1.5 on the mvp2, 3.9/4.0 volts, and have the air flow control screw set about half way for a tighter draw.

I'm sure all of you have probably already seen these but I recently received this Trippy Tips Plasma tank in a trade and I absolutely love it.

Wanted to get in on the Plasma tank pre-order but i've been telling myself i'd break it within a week lol! So cool looking but not for clumsy fools like myself!

28ga, 2.0mm ID, 10-wraps,1.5 ohms @ 8 - 10 watts, Boost Level 3, Ko Gen Doh wick (... cotton).

ProVape has stated 1.6 - 1.8 ohms tends to be the sweet spot for the P3. Wouldn't argue with that.

Thanks, on that same note, how would a larger diameter (2,2.5,3.0mm) coil differ keeping the same values? I have not wrapped one yet.

As the internal diameter increases, so does the resistance of the coil.

Coils of a larger ID allow you to use a thicker wick, which helps the KFL+ to perform better at higher wattages. I prefer a 3/32" bit, or about 2.4mm.

What ^^^^^ said.

The thicker the wire, the less resistance per inch. The longer the wire, the more resistance. If want want a larger diameter coil but want to hold the resistance then you have to go with less wraps. Hope this made sense.

If that's how you like it, that should work just fine o a ProVari.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

I don't want to sound like a parent, scolding a child, but...I thought we already went over all of this?
I'll admit there is always the chance that I'm remembering a conversation with someone else...but, you having an MVP2 rings a few bells...
Anywho...
Apart from my very helpful fellow ECF'ers (thanks everybody!) I'd like to add my experience advice, to help further your pursuit of vaping greatness! Whereas none of us can give you the exact build that will suit your tastes, we can at least get you in the ballpark!

I use a 28g wire, wrapped 5 times around a 7/64" drill bit (aka 2.8mm), for a resistance of 1.3-1.5 ohms...which I then run at 10 watts on my P3.
I do this same build on both the KFL -and- the KF4.
I started using a 7 wrap, 3/32" (2.4mm) build in my KF4, but noticed poor performance. This is because the KF4 has far more stock airflow than the KFL...so I switched to the 5 wrap, 7/64" (2.8mm) and found great success!
I used to use 7 wraps on a 3/32" drill bit (2.4mm) in my KFL's, but have found the extra 0.4mm to make enough of a positive difference, that I adopted it across the board.
So, clearly, it's all subjective, but enough of us are close enough to each other in build, that we can't all be wrong! The best part is, because you're building your own coils, you have the freedom to play around with different builds, to zero in on your own personal sweet spot!

This is amazing. Ever since I joined the Kayfun club a couple of weeks ago, I have dropped my nic level by almost 40% and it's still too strong. Just like the Kayfun manual said, you can easily drop your nic level by 50%. You're still getting the same amount of nic however since this tank is efficient enough to do the job with half the amount.... One advantage of vaping over smoking was the fact that the droplets in the vapor were large enough that they did not absorb into your body so easily as smoke from cigarettes, but now, given Kayfun's efficiency, I am not so sure.

Thanks HB, you are right, we did have this conversation in reference to the mvp2/kayfun. If you may also recall, the mvp 2 has a limited "sweetspot" as to how low or how high I can build (I settled on 2.4mm 1.5) for it to actually be semi consistent/efficient, at least for me.

I do not want to come off like I do not do not pay attention to everyone's help. I wanted to know what is the average provari/kayfun user build, so I could use it as a starting point. Of course with understanding that it is all subjective.

I had been contemplating on increasing the coil's diameter myself, but I keep the kayfun's airflow screw open half way . So I take it a bigger coil diameter needs more airflow?

Thanks HB and everyone, you have all been very helpful!

It's definitely a stay at home tank for me. It performs as well as it looks. I absolutely love it.

I think they were $60 - $80 but not real sure as I didn't buy it but got it in a trade.

Hey no worries! I wasn't intending to sound like a jerk! I was actually more concerned with the sense of déjà vu that popped up when I read your questions! For a moment, I felt like I was getting old and senile!

So, the first congrats was on your KAYFUN. Now, the second congrats is on your P3!!! A Titanium P3, if I remember correctly? Sweet!

As I said in my previous post, it seems like the average sweet spot for most of us P3/Kayfun users is 1.3-1.8 ohms, running between 9.0-12.0 watts.
So play around inside those numbers and see what you get!
I'm running 28 gauge wire, wrapped 5 times around a 7/64" (2.8mm) drill bit, for a whopping 1.3-1.5 ohms coil, and I run it at 10 watts on my P3.
This is the same build I use on my KFL, and my KF4. I'll change the cotton out after a week or two. Dry burn the coil, give it a look-see and determine if I feel like it can still be used, re-wick it and vape on!

For my KFL's I turn the airflow screw OUT, until it is flush with the bottom of the base. That's "wide open". This is because, honestly, I don't see any big difference with it open or almost closed. Most people seem to just take it out altogether...which I can't do, because I'm OCD and have to keep original parts with original parts. Hahaha!!!

As far as coil size vs airflow? You've got it right, at least as far as Kayfuns are concerned!

No. Cal.
Yahoo for Birthday Vape mail!! Just received my 3rd V2 (you know the excuses: the 2 were getting lonely, etc. etc.), Puzzle drip tips from Svo (even more beautiful and fun in person), and a low profile from Avid, etc.....( thank you UKPaul for the tips on that and HB on the Pico. Am really liking the smaller tank options.

I do have a conundrum. I've luckily had little trouble dialing in a great flavor for my PG juices. (70 PG) On the other hand, I've not had the same success on my heavy VG juice. I get a slight burning taste once in a while. I've tried many things over the months, including more and less cotton/ cello, smaller/larger coils (2.-2.5), resistance of 1.3-1.7., also lowering and raising the coil. These days I generally run all my KFL's on mechanicals. I'm liking smaller these days, hence I've not purchased the P3. Just for kicks: what is your favorite build for thicker juice?

Yep! I was vaping 18mg nic levels for a while and dropped to 12mg a month or so before ordering my KFL clone from FT. I've been vaping that 12mg for a few weeks on the KFL and it was just too much for me. I dropped to 6mg this past weekend and it is SO much better. I can actually enjoy vaping for a while without thinking "wow I feel kinda dizzy" after the second or third vape.

Great achievement going from 18 to 6mg. What about your juice consumption, are you using a lot more with the kayfun or just moderately?

Definitely a higher juice consumption than on my old Protank2 (and evods). Especially now that the 6mg juice isn't making me feel dizzy after only a couple vapes. But the clouds are definitely bigger (more on par with the smoke amounts from an analog) and the taste is better. I also think it's mostly because I'm just enjoying it way more than my previous setup. That, and I'm also down to one analog a day (the first one in the morning). It also helps that my initial leaking issue has been solved by replacing the top chimney oring so it's been really solid.
