Yahoo for Birthday Vape mail!! Just received my 3rd V2 (you know the excuses: the 2 were getting lonely, etc. etc.), Puzzle drip tips from Svo (even more beautiful and fun in person), and a low profile from Avid, etc.....( thank you UKPaul for the tips on that and HB on the Pico. Am really liking the smaller tank options.

I do have a conundrum. I've luckily had little trouble dialing in a great flavor for my PG juices. (70 PG) On the other hand, I've not had the same success on my heavy VG juice. I get a slight burning taste once in a while. I've tried many things over the months, including more and less cotton/ cello, smaller/larger coils (2.-2.5), resistance of 1.3-1.7., also lowering and raising the coil. These days I generally run all my KFL's on mechanicals. I'm liking smaller these days, hence I've not purchased the P3. Just for kicks: what is your favorite build for thicker juice?

Glad you like the low profile caps Robinowitz

I have a 10mm longer plastic tank from C9V to try with the low profile cap when I get home.

I am sure I will enjoy the extra capacity but not sure I will like the look??

It's definitely a stay at home tank for me. It performs as well as it looks. I absolutely love it.

I think they were $60 - $80 but not real sure as I didn't buy it but got it in a trade.

Hey Jax, little chilly down there ain't it? 18 degrees here in VA, expecting - 1 tomorrow night. Wooo boy! Now that's damn cold.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

My understanding is that VG doesn't carry the flavor as well as PG. Could you be cranking it up in an attempt to get better flavor?

Great achievement going from 18 to 6mg. What about your juice consumption, are you using a lot more with the kayfun or just moderately?

I personally stayed at 12 with my KFL, was at 18. Darn thing uses a ton more juice and I'm a chain vaper so I go thru a lot in the course of a day. I know you didn't ask me but, had to throw my 2 cents in. Sorry.

Definitely a higher juice consumption than on my old Protank2 (and evods). Especially now that the 6mg juice isn't making me feel dizzy after only a couple vapes. But the clouds are definitely bigger (more on par with the smoke amounts from an analog) and the taste is better. I also think it's mostly because I'm just enjoying it way more than my previous setup. That, and I'm also down to one analog a day (the first one in the morning). It also helps that my initial leaking issue has been solved by replacing the top chimney oring so it's been really solid.

A lot of folks keep a high nic tank around for the first in A.M./after dinner and stressful situations. Might help you get rid of that last stinky.

Yeah, a little. We're sitting at 36° right now with a wind chill making it feel like 28°. It's supposed to go all the way down to 24° tonight. *snicker*

Hey no worries! I wasn't intending to sound like a jerk! I was actually more concerned with the sense of déjà vu that popped up when I read your questions! For a moment, I felt like I was getting old and senile!

So, the first congrats was on your KAYFUN. Now, the second congrats is on your P3!!! A Titanium P3, if I remember correctly? Sweet!

As I said in my previous post, it seems like the average sweet spot for most of us P3/Kayfun users is 1.3-1.8 ohms, running between 9.0-12.0 watts.
So play around inside those numbers and see what you get!
I'm running 28 gauge wire, wrapped 5 times around a 7/64" (2.8mm) drill bit, for a whopping 1.3-1.5 ohms coil, and I run it at 10 watts on my P3.
This is the same build I use on my KFL, and my KF4. I'll change the cotton out after a week or two. Dry burn the coil, give it a look-see and determine if I feel like it can still be used, re-wick it and vape on!

For my KFL's I turn the airflow screw OUT, until it is flush with the bottom of the base. That's "wide open". This is because, honestly, I don't see any big difference with it open or almost closed. Most people seem to just take it out altogether...which I can't do, because I'm OCD and have to keep original parts with original parts. Hahaha!!!

As far as coil size vs airflow? You've got it right, at least as far as Kayfuns are concerned!

You did not come off as a jerk at all, maybe I came off as inattentive, hahaha. Well you did answer all of my questions down to the T. I am pretty sure one can manage by reading instructions and previous posts, which I have. I am kind of a perfectionist/OCD myself, which makes me quite inquisitive.

On a different note, it is very hard to wait on vape mail!

Thanks HB and everyone!

This was Sunday night. I was cutting a hole so the tenants could get out Monday morning...
Kayfun's don't like the cold... Juice gets a little thick. :)

Thanks Matt but I'm using a mechanical. Am starting to wondering if that has something to do with it?? I've tried it on the Provari (2.5) but the 510 connection is a no go. This particular V2 has a short 510. I put it on another mechanical (had to adjust that 510 connection) and all was well last night. I'll see if that continues and perhaps adjust the original mechanical I had it on. Hmmmmm.......interesting.....the search continues.....

Robino...
My only suggestion to you, would be to try a 7/64" coil...aka 2.8mm...
You stated you've tried from 2.0-2.5mm, but I've found that going from 2.4mm to 2.8mm has made all the difference in my KFLs and my KFv4...
Just a thought.
If you don't have 2.8mm or 7/64" bits, a 3.0mm drill bit would work. A lot of people have reported great success with that diameter.
Also, a thicker juice would need more vacuum, so tighten up your airflow...as it turns out, sometimes we have to adjust our vape style to suit different juices, and not the other way around!
If you don't know why airflow would make a difference, see my post from a little while back, about the two drinking straws!

I am having trouble with my Kayfun nano and can't figure out what is wrong. It sometimes fails to pull juice into the chamber even though the channels are clear and the cotton wicks are just right. My Juice is 70%vg diluted 2.5% with distilled water. Running at 2.4 ohms and 3.8 volts. When the dry hits happen, I notice that no air is escaping from the bottom of the chamber into the tank - and indication that the tank does not have enough vacuum.

Any idea what could be causing this problem? A possible cause could be the chimney top on this particular unit. I have to tighten it just right - too tight, and it would leave a tiny gap with the top cap and result in leaking. Now that I am not tightening excessively the leaking is gone but I am getting occasional dry hits. They go away once I force juice into the chamber by covering the air hole and taking a few drags. Ideas anyone?

I had that situation (on my authentic, not on any of my clones). I put a thin o-ring on the chimney at its threads so that it doesn't tighten down as far onto the chamber sleeve and fits nicely up into the top cap o-ring. (I used a thin silicon o-ring so that the heat would not burn it.)

If there is not a good seal at the top cap o-ring I guess that could reduce the suction and cause inadequate juice flow.

Just guessing.

Good guess, and you are probably right, but I have tried it to no avail since the o-ring will prevent the top cap from mounting completely down. Somewhat odd that unlike others, this particular unit did not come with an o-ring.

That's probably what it is. Too hot. If you need to stay with the mech add a wrap or two to your coil and that will drop the temp a bit. Of course you have to wind a new coil!

That's a good idea! I've been thinking about picking up a different cheap clone (Orchid maybe?) from FT. Sounds like a good reason to give it a go (after the Chinese New Year of course). At less than $20 I'd have a second tank to either put higher nic juice in or just a different flavor. Or maybe a different Kayfun like a plus or V4.
