Probably better to read others opinions on products they actually Own than take off the cuff remarks as Gospel.
Yes Tobeco Has released some genuine Junk, but so has Sigelei and several other China Manufacturers.
Even if you get a Well recommended device from a manufacturer with a Good Reputation, you can still get the Dog that Got out.
Yes, the KFL+ Black Edition is a Tobaco product.........With Modifications.
This Special order Release Far out stripped any Kayfun Release Tobaco attempted Previously and is an EXCELLENT Performing and Nice looking Device.
The new Tobeco - KFL+ Silver Edition is a direct 1:1 copy of the Black Edition and offers all the Updates.
People keep saying the Center pin is an Air restriction. I'll argue that point.
The Air hole(s) in the Center pin are MUCH larger than the Air channel coming in from the side of the Base.
The Chamber around the Air holes is larger than the Center Channel opening and allows room for much more than is necessary.
The side air passage is drilled High and above the 510 Grommet.
I have to wonder if people making these claims actually disassembled their units to clean properly. Some may not even own one.
Want more air flow - First thing to do is REPLACE that Crappy Drip Tip with something that is open.
Running wide bore tips on both of mine with plenty of flow.
Step 2 - get the wick up off the deck - not overly high but at least 1-1.5mm and make sure air can flow around both sides of the coil.
Whether dealing with Tobeco, EHPro, HCigar or any other manufacturer - Base your Purchase on consistent reviews by previous purchasers of That particular Device.
Can't agree more, tobeco's new kayfun lite clones seem to be just as good if not better than other clones and originals. The only issue I had with mine were shallow channels, which were fixed in a couple of minutes.
Airflow isn't an issue with the new tobeco's. The bottleneck for airflow is the inside diameter of the center post, which is large enough for adequate airflow.
As has been stated many times before, if you open up airflow too much you will lose the required negative pressure created when you take a draw. This will give you dry hits. On the other end of the spectrum is too tight of a draw, pulling juice into the wick area faster than your coil can vaporize it, leading to flooding.
Kayfun's were never designed to be wide open cloud chaser devices, the focus from the beginning was flavor.
That being said: I've drilled out my airhole to 2mm, counter-sunk it with a cone shaped diamond dremel bit to eliminate whistle, swapped the drip tip for my pulse-g drip tip (so sexy), trimmed the lower center isolator, enlarged the lower center-pin air passage to an oval shape (again with beveled edges with the diamond bit), deepened the channels like mad, and even drilled out one of the inner 510 airflow holes in my nemesis clone. With the airflow screw out, I get more airflow through the nemesis 510 airflow holes.
With a 1.1ohm 28g microcoil and cotton I'm getting just the right amount of wicking, no flooding, and borderline too much vapor and TH.
**anyone know how I can quote with a spoiler so that a long quoted post doesn't take up so much room?
