What the hell is that little screw supposed to do anyway? ... and there is also an even smaller hole on the outside of the base (too small to even have a screw in it) .... What's that little hole for?
Those are both airflow holes. The small one is permanent, but the larger one with the screw is supposed to be adjustable.

Where are you guys finding the black edition KFL+ ? I bought one on eBay several weeks ago (and love it) and I'd like to get another. I'm not seeing it anywhere on ebay...but my eyes aren't what they use to be :)

Keep an eye on the vendor, he should be getting more in next week and creating a new listing.

Lol sorry to be that guy, but that's incorrect. The larger one with the screw controls how much air enters the smaller hollow hole. The path of the screw intersects that of the smaller hole. But screwing the screw deeper in, you essentially block off the airflow through the smaller hole

Also! The new atty is set up. 0.9 ohms oh a nemesis, Boba's bounty. Works like a champ. Even on my 100% VG, absolutely no dry hits at 5x 5 seconds drag. HUGE value, definitely recommend. If anyone had any reservations about the juice channel depth, all is well :D

Having said that, the AFC is officially worthless. I've completely removed the screw to minimize whistle (and yes, it does whistle)

And oh, vaporrrrrrrr!!

Thanks for the explanation ... Unfortunately, I can turn that little screw in or out, and I can't tell any difference in the draw. On mine, it don't seem like it does much of anything.

That's definitely an issue with the clones manufacturing: either the supplied screw isn't long enough, or some other reasons. On my authentic kfl+ and r91, tightening the screw = unbearably tight draw. I personally have 11 clones, all 3 of my hcigar 3.1 have working AFC. 2 of my 3 ehpro ones work. 2 out of my remaining tobeco ones work. It's unfortunately an issue with manufacturing for these clones. At least the current editions have good air flow; the earliest tobeco ones were god awfully tight

Well, my clone is different than most ... it has 4 juice channels cut in the base.

I know it's not Tobeco

Another thing on mine ... There is a larger screw going into the center bottom of the base. I thought this was an adjustable center pin, but on mine, if you loosen that screw up at all, one of the posts that you would connect your coil to just loosens too ... so that center post screw has to always be fully tightened down (no adjustment)

Left one is the authentic kfl+ v2 and right is the BE clone. U can tell the clone has a smaller airhole.

Mesured the airholes cause I was bored with precision screw drivers and drill bits. The BE clone has a 1.4mm hole and the authentic is 1.6mm maybe 1.7 or 1.8 cause the 1/16 drill bit had just a bit of wiggle room.

While the airflow control on the "black/silver/tobeco v2" edition kfl+ is pretty worthless, the draw is quite good imo, with the screw removed. Out of the few I have I'm not necessarily getting a whistle, but you can definitely hear the air being sucked in. They are slightly louder than my Hcigar 3.1 with working airflow control (which works great also), but I'd take the recessed bottom fill screw or the side fill valve any day. Call me paranoid, but I eventually see that going bad and has to be a lot harder to replace than simply replacing an o-ring or screw.

Ok so I lied. So the black edition came with 4 spare AFC screw. Swapped it out and BAM. The AFC now works perfectly fine. Screwed in fully gives me no draw. I'm about halfway in and it's just great for me now.

Same thing as mbliffert, my airflow is very good for my vape style. And for some reason the whistling has completely disappeared. I just hear the usual sound of air rushin in which is what I get on my authentic ones anyway

Your Kayfun Black clone came with 4 extra airflow screws?

Yeap. 4 extra airflow control screws, 1 extra juice fill hole screw, 3 extra deck mounting screws, 1 hex key, 1 Philips screw and 1 flat head screw.

The best part is one of the extra airflow control screw is for flat heads!!!! Best thing ever. I don't get why the hell most other AFC screws are hex keys. It's dumb and troublesome.

I had had also emailed him about the changes he's making to the Black Russians. This was his reply:

Curious to know the details. :)

Bought from the same seller, the black edition with the red O rings. 2 of the screws start to rust after I left it in the hot water.

Anyone know the diameter of the airhole on these?

Measured the airholes cause I was bored. The BE clone is 1.4mm and the authentic is either 1.6 or 1.7/1.8 cause the 1/16 drill bit had just bit of wiggle room. I really wanted to try a 2mm hole on the clone but I don't think I have enough clearance on the top and might ruin the whole Atty.

I went 5/64" 2.0mm with mine. Provided the BE clones are drilled to the same spec(which could be hit or miss) it should work but leaves very little material at the top. Try 1/16" 1.6mm, I first did that and it opened it up enough I would have been satisfied.

Check for burrs also, had a few where the center and air hole opening meet, removing those opened it up a little and removed any whistle it had.
