how is this clone compared to the other clone out there of the kayfun lite plus

I can only compare it to the 3.1 and KFL that I got from FT. As far as they go, it's much better.

The thing with the Kayfun design is that it works even if it's done poorly. The BT804 was a Kayfun 2.1 knockoff made of chromed brass. It had the worst coil connection setup EVER. Press fit pins. Terrible.

Even considering how much of a piece of crap it was, when you got it set up it worked really well. The Kayfun design is just that bulletproof.

yea currently i have the bt404 cause my friend had it laying around. i just started vaping like 2 weeks ago and i basically threw out my ego lol in the first 5 days and my friend has the real kfl plus and i really liked it so hoping it is just as good.

also bought this version because of the recessed fill hole which i heard fixed the leaking problem from the kfl fill screw.

So is there really any difference between this Black Edition everyone is talking about and the one below that I got for $38? Besides the $11 price difference. It was labeled as the "newest" edition KFL+ clone. Mine seems to have the o-rings on everything, came with a ton of extra o-rings, screws, screwdriver and the tool to adjust the airflow (for the life of me I can't remember what this tool is called). I haven't tried to adjust center pin, so not sure if it is still connected to build plate or not.

And I must say, for my first ever clone I am so impressed. I followed RipTripper's guide for building the coil and it is working great. Especially considering that this is the first time I build a coil for a device like this. I do need to adjust my cotton a bit as I do seem to get a dry hit every now and then. The TH hit and flavor on a device like this is just crazy. Especially when coming from only using RBC tanks.

Don't have one of those so I can't be sure. If you post some pics of the various parts I'll let you know, though.

For one - comes with Metal and Clear plastic tanks
Also has Adjustable Center pin

* Seller either told a tale or mine got kicked into a corner. Just moved from his local to Atlanta tonight.
I'm betting it was shipped today.:glare:

I have the rocket clone and it was really crappy.

I'd just suggest you spent more time on your build work and replace the lower tank o-ring if you havent. It will start leaking.
I have 2 Rocket clones. They both work FANTASTIC and are the whole reason I went for the SS step up. I seriously want one to be around for a long time.
Many videos available to assist in getting them working right.
Skip tripper and Review the normal setups. Customs come with practice and patients.
Something about a flap screw, addressing flooding? Have to look when it gets here.

I'm cashing a check tomorrow - I'd love to know if I should order the black edition or the 'newest edition' Tobeco for $12 less.

I can only speak for what I've got, but the Black Edition is the best of my three. Well worth the money IMHO, and I'm cheap. LoL.

So I've got an original KFL+ and R91 already (had a KFL that I gave to dad). I was getting ready to order another R91, only because I actually prefer the adjustable 510 and I like the side airflow control, but by the time I loaded my debit card, they were out of stock.

However, I saw the "Black Edition" KFL+ clone being talked about and it seems that the folks that have receiver them have pretty positive things to say. So I pulled the trigger and ordered one. Since I've got both the KFL+ and R91 already, I should be able to provide a pretty good comparison to the Black Clone.

Warning....rant incoming:

I actually also have a Tobeco KFL/R91 clone that I picked up last month with a $35 gift card compared to the original KFL+ and R91, it is a complete POS and basically unusable. I soaked and washed the ever loving crap out of it to be sure I removed any machining oils ect. The screws ARE NOT stainless, so I replaced them with backup R91 screws. The center pin cannot be removed. The airflow is very tight, even with the AFC screw removed, so the thing just leaks. And, the two parts of the upper build deck are not even close to being level either due to an insulator that is too thick or a deck piece that is too thick. This means that you have to lift the coil very high off the deck so the one lead doesn't short out. I believe that with some tinkering (I work in a small machine shop, so I've got the tools) I'll be able to make it a functioning device. But still, even at $35, it wasn't worth it.

With all that said, I'm actually not against clones. I have problems with when a device is counterfeit and sold as the original and I have problems when the devices don't work. At the same time, if these manufacturers want to keep people like me out of the clone market, then they need to be able to produce them at a pace that allows me to buy one when I want and not have to scour the internet, pay over retail, or order internationally if I don't want to.

So I'm hoping that the Black edition lives up what I've read about it. If not, at worst I end up with some spare parts. Regardless, I'll still end up buying 1 or 2 more legit KFL+ or R91, whenever the hell they're easily available in the US.

P.S. Has anyone confirmed that the screws on the Black Edition are all stainless?
