Being as I'm completely new to rebuildables (only have a kraken clone I got for 15 bucks off ebay.. its awesome..dont know who makes it since it came in a small shiny black box that said the kraken on it) I was considering a kayfun clone for about a week and did some research. I saw the black edition and it seemed like it had all the best features of the r91 and kfl+..

My question is how is the draw on this thing? It looks like the afc screw is on the bottom near the 510? The kraken really got me into a nice airy draw (I leave both air holes fully open) and am hoping the kayfun black edition is airy enough for lung hits once adjusted fully opened.. what do you guys think?

I haven't Recieved my "Black" yet (just ordered today) but if the airflow is anything like the real R91 or KFL/+, it'll be suitable for lung hits.

It's not a "wide open" draw or anything,, but I'd say its comparable to a device with a 1.5 mm ish air hole. If you have the proper tooling, it's fairly easy to drill it out to like 5/64 or even 3/32 if you really wanted to.

I pretty much only lung hit with my Kayfuns. If you feel like you want a little easier draw than it gives you without drilling it out, you can remove the airflow control screw completely. You can also let a little air slide between your lips by the drip tip when you inhale. If found that this can increase vapor production (on exhale anyway) significantly.

I can't officially endorse the Black Edition yet, but I should have it in a few days, so I'll report back with a brief review/comparison to the real KFL+ and R91 then. But for $50 it's probably worth a shot. The Kayfun design is great for someone new to rebuildables. With a cotton/microcoil build, it's pretty hard not to be able to have success

OK, walked down to the mailbox..

Looks pretty good.. Right off the bat, it's not the same matte finish as the R91, it's definitely more of a polished SS finish. Also appears the top-cap / drip-tip adapter are 1 solid piece, unlike the R91 where you had the adapter / insert for standard drip-tips. This black edition appears to just take standard drip tips just fine.

Unfortunately I just filled my R91 up so I can't break it down and do a piece by piece comparison. The allen / hex-key airflow is weird, not a fan of that already, but we'll see how it works when I build it.

fill hole and airflow adjustment hole. but i just took my airflow screw out cause i want the MAXIMUM AIRFLOW

overall so far it has surpassed my expectations and is on par with my friends real kfl+
using it on a 1 ohm coil and could not be happier with it

Keep us updated on how she vapes BrandonSi!

Could u put up a picture of it next to the r91 for finish comparison? :) unless it matches the brushed finish on the ebay pics.

Thanks!

Tomorrow I'll set 'er up.. here's the comparison photo though.. I guess it's not really polished, it's just not the 'ice matte' the R91 is.. it's just shinier, though I think I'll retract my 'polished' statement.

I got mine late afternoon today (ordered over the weekend), proceeded to build my first coil (this is my first rebuildable) and all I can say is, dang, its really good. Best flavor I've had to date. I’d watched a bunch of youtube vids on it in the last couple days.
I've only been vaping since November, and had pretty much settled in with carto tanks quickly. But this seems like a new level, yup.
I played it safe, built a 2.4 ohm micro coil (after busting a couple), loaded it with organic cotton, and am using my Provari. I'm sure I'll experiment in the weeks to come. But in the meantime, this is real good. Dang good.
I don't have enough experience to compare it to the real Kayfun or the Russian, and I guess I like the idea of getting the real thing, to give credit where credit is due.... But in my circumstances the clone had to be it.
Anyway, the point is that I've never had this kind of taste from the juice. Delicious.
