Well, USPS apparently dropped the ball on this one, shockingly. Contacted the eBay seller and he said he dropped them off over the weekend. Didn't get any tracking updates beyond "Electronic Shipping Info Received" until last night, now it's out for delivery. I'll report back on first impressions later tonight.

Whats the verdict?????

So far very good. Build quality is superb. If I'd spent $100 on this atty I'd be pleased. Not a lot of gap between pieces, or beveling. It's a good 8mm shorter than my KF 3.1es clone, and only a smidge taller than my FT KFL clone.

O-rings on EVERYTHING. Even the top part of the chimney has an o-ring, something I hadn't seen on a KF clone before.

Only negative thing... it whistles. I need to get a pointed polishing bit for my Dremel and round off the edges of the air hole.

Hmm...Same point of contention on the Original KFL+
They reduced the taper over the previous release. I've been told if you want more air flow, removing the control screw solves both at once.

Glad to hear they have done a nice job on this one.
Unfortunately if there is one defect, it will arrive on my purchase.:glare:

I've got a KFL+ and a Russian 91%, and this Black edition seems to combine the missing features from both. I may have to pick one up if the quality is good.

It has irritated me that the R91% has the old deficient fill screw (no o-ring), but has the adjustable centre pin, where the KFL+ is the opposite. Though I will say, my Russian has a problem with the adjustable centre pin (or possibly the insulator) - the deck moves really easily when trying to make adjustments, and there's a serious chance of shorting. I've also noticed occasional leaking depending on adjustment of the pin.

Can anyone comment on centre pin issues with this clone?

You need to remove the Center rod next cleaning and Grasp it so you can Back out the ACTUAL screw on the end.
People miss this. The Rockets are the same way.
From the Factory the screw is fully in and so tight the whole rod backs out.:)

As for the center pin on the Black Clone, I haven't done a full teardown yet, but based on the fact that it adjusts I'd have to posit that it's not directly attached to the deck. There's got to be a part that the pin screws in to that then screws in to the deck.

It does adjust very easily, which I like.

I've done this multiple times - the rod that connects to the deck block, screwed down hard still wants to twist the whole deck block really easily if the o-ring from the adjustable pin catches it, even without the pin being overly tight (and there's a decent chance of annoying leakage without the adjustment pin being semi-tight). Comparing the R91% to the KFL+, the insulating material appears to be different - I might test the KFL+ insulator in the R91% to see if it's more grippy.
