The Aqua is a 21mm topper, this just won't do for most.

It's also less expensive because it uses some stamped steel.

That said if someone did a non-stamped 22mm aqua I would be all over it for $50 USD.

And what part, exactly, is stamped steel? Just curious!!!

Cotton Wicking - Thought I'd share this.

If worried about over packing causing dry hit/coil choking OR a to thin wick, causing Flooding, go with your second option.

Less is more is still the safest bet, even in a kayfun and is easily controlled.
Build your coil - 5/64" seems most common(I use 14ga. needle)
Fit your wick for good coil contact - Should be snug NOT tight
Cut wick length at outer Base edge
Wet wick tips and pin against coil riser
Carefully install Stack - Not disturbing Wick
**Roll out another length of cotton a bit smaller and looser than the wick. Length equal to Circumference of Stack**
*Install second wick inside the stack in a circle against the Stack
*Lightly press to seat around coil riser and covering both Juice well areas(NOT INTO) resting on Coil wick
*Add Several Drops of e-liquid before testing and closing everything up. ( I do about 10 drops)

This is a cotton variation of the Navy Nest that I use to bring additional e-liquid up to the level of the coil. It acts as a reserve, aids in avoiding Flooding, allows for a thinner more fluid(functional) wick and does not interfere with air flow.:)

Practice makes perfect

The second wick, how far down the stack do you install it?

And, just what is the purpose of this second loop of wick, per the navy nest design? It's above the main wick, and level w/ the coil? It's not like it can directly get the juice from the "deck". And, if not done perfect, may be a source of flooding?

It won't be a source of flooding because it's not in contact with the wick or air hole - it allows for keeping a slightly higher volume of wicked juice in the chamber which will alleviate the half-dry hits. To flood, it would have to be in line with or touching the air hole.

The chimney is, not sure what else offhand.

*edit*
It appears that only the air chamber on the chimney is stamped, the rest is 316 SS. Just needs to be 22mm, the one piece of stamped metal is a non-issue.

I've been using 32 gauge on my black box version. Someone suggested making the cotton wick a bit longer and after sticking it to the riser like one normally does, lay the ends over the top of the coil in an X fashion.

I do something similar to this with my builds. I leave the tails extra long on the wick, lay the wick on the lower deck like normal and them loop the end of the tail back up to lay on the wick at the point it comes out of the coil. If you look at it from the side it looks like a "doughnut". I do not let it lay on top of the coil. What my style of wick does is give the effect of having two wicks on each side feeding the coil. I can chain vape at fairly high wattages without running the coil dry. The wick has to be wet with juice to get it to stick and stay in place. After I put the lower chimney on, I use a toothpick to make sure the bottom of the "loop" of the wick is fully setting on the lower deck over the juice channel.
I think a weak spot in the wicking of these Kayfun style systems is the wick having to overcome gravity in the "lifting" the juice from the lower deck to the upper deck. If this is true, my style of build helps by having two wick per side.

Here is my wick - works every time with cotton

Remember too much cotton cause It to wick and saturate and STAY places that it shouldn't - too much on the deck and it won't move up to the coil

Just my experience and IMO - ignore if you wish :)

If you look at the Navy Nest, you will see the excess wick is wrapped around the coil area(Resting on the Well Wick) Same prenciple in cotton. Simpler to do with a second piece of cotton.
The second piece IS in contact with the Coil wick as it crosses over the Wells. This allows the Second wick to accumulate e-liquid and keep any weak points in the coil wick from allowing Flooding.
The second wick also allows for draw down of fluid to feed the Coil.

It is just one more way to set up a Kayfun and something for those seeking solutions to try.:)

Not sure where you got your info from, but nothing is stamped in mine. All machined SS...

Got my information from a reviewer, I don't know which but he definitely said it was stamped. I can't disagree with you as I don't own it.

I'm not sure how they could actually stamp out the chimney!! Been in the industrial tool and supply business for 35+ years and yet to see something like that. Mine you can actually see the cuts from the endmill they used to cut it inside the chimney. It is one solid piece of SS that was machined.

The one on my ss Rocket looks stamped - has press marks, the metal in the chimney is thicker on one side than the other, and the only other tool marks look like they're from finishing work.

Well i rebuilt mine last night. Stuck with using 28g as i prefer that to 30g. Got a 1.3 ohm microcoil and did a little trick with the cotton this time. Once i got my normal amount of cotton pulled through the coil (as far as diameter) and had it loose but snug, i trimmed the cottons length to a little past the base of the kayfun. Then what was left hanging past the coils i trimmed about half of it off (from its over all diameter). Wet it with juice and pressed it on the lower decks wall. There was excess cotton left so i looped the rest back up to the coil and put it to the sides and touching the coil. And that seems to be working fantastic. All through the rest of last night and going into work this morning, vaping it at 3.5 volts, not getting any dry hits so far and plenty of vapor and throat hit with some decent vapor production. Still room to improve upon this, but its a start.

thinking of getting one of these after my 3d clone comes! I dont even have my new toy, and im already planning what to get after that...

Hah! Don't worry I was like that before I got my fogger. Had a fogger being shipped to me than saw the kayfun lite and was like damn I should've got this instead and ordered my kayfun anyways.

When you say "pressed it on the lower decks wall" do you mean the walls that the bottom part of the chimney (the wider, tube part) screws down over? As in, do you have cotton "in" those vertical channels?

I'm picturing something like the build in an Ithaka or Odysseus.....
