I'm hesitant to post this LOL.. inspired by the posts this morning and feeling confident... I rewicked. I didn't roll the cotton at all. I just moistened the end to pull it through the coil. I kinda just "slapped" it in there. I screwed the chamber on and haphazardly moved the thin, fluffy tails around. When I screwed on the chamber, I didn't tighten it down, if fact, I left it a bit loose, unscrewed it a half turn or so (the idea is to maybe let more juice in?). I then placed a couple more small, fluffy pieces of loose cotton around the coil. I let it sit while I washed dishes. (Since I'm female, such tasks are required of me )

Anyway... I've been vaping it way past the time it usually get dry and so far it's wicking like a champ and the flavor is spot on. I'm sure that after I hit "post quick reply" it'll dry up and I'll cry LOL but so far so good.

Donnah, I'm starting to think you might have a defective device. I've been following the thread from day one and you are doing everything right. Perhaps the junctions between your vertical and horizontal grooves are a bit shallow on the base. This would explain a better feed when you don't tighten the chamber all the way down. You are twice as experienced as me and I have had zero issues since switching to cotton/micros. I know SM has great QC but its not impossible that a slightly imperfect unit made it through. I'd be interested to see you try a setup on another unit and see if you experience the same problems. Keep your head up

That's 11 wraps @ 1.3Ω. Did what you suggested. But 4.3v is a little too much voltage for me. I'm vaping at 4.0v.

from the pic it looked like a little more wraps. the micros are quite different to standard coils for sure. they do hit harder and are a bit warmer. 4v is still a pretty good wattage at 12 or so. if you feel like its to warm maybe add a wrap.

Yea.. I've considered that and commented on it a few weeks ago. I don't know though... my grooves look just as deep as everyone else's. Here's a closeup of my "grooves". this pic was taken a month or so ago (many wicks ago) and nope, this wick didn't wick well either.

Backing off the chamber has helped.. or maybe it was because I didn't roll the cotton to thread it into the coil.. or maybe it was the extra pieces I added. But even in the past when I twisted the cotton, once it was through the coil, I untwisted it.

Next time I rewick it, which will probably be when I finish this tank, I'll try to do everything I just did and tighten down the chamber. If there's one thing I enjoy, a good mystery (as long as it's not too difficult to solve and I have other things that work well). It's been working flawlessly for the past hour or two. No hint of dryness. I haven't declared victory yet though LOL

Here's a quick re wick I did this morning. The coil is not new. It has been in use for probably 6 weeks. I just dry burned it and brushed it off.

nice looking coil rule. I also think most issues are with the cotton wick but also could be from the coil itself. I have seen coils that appear to be tweaked when attached to the screws. sometimes if the coil is not mounted correctly it may cause a small hotspot. if you see rules coil it is resting perfectly, no gaps, and the leads of the coil, where they attach to the screws, are as short as possible. you want these leads to attach to the screws in the shortest route. also there is no pressure from misalignment in his coil, its resting just right. another issue can be that once you tighten the screws make sure the ends are trimmed as to not possibly touch the chimney when its screwed on, this can create a possible short. also none of the coil besides the leads are touching any metal. if you look at rules coil, the only part that is touching anything is his leads, which are connected to the screws. I know this stuff is basic and is probably not the issues that some are having but just wanted to list a few different possibilities because a slight hotspot can create a vape that has no flavor and can dry out the wick.

I used 1/16" blunt needle (I forget the gauge but I mic;s the diameter) Doesn't leave much room for a wick. You do seem to be describing a smaller wick than I am using though.
I am using rolled cotton, my tails along the deck but not covering the juice channels so per your advice they can be shortened. Maybe I will try going thinner than is intuitive. Might be I am choking the coil even though it goes in easily?

hey buddy, although I have heard of some having good results with their wicks running along the base, I however run my wick just down to the base, then just a smidgen more. I posted a few pics back a page or two. maybe on your next build, like you said, reduce the length slightly.

Does anyone have remedies for the fill hole leaking? I've cranked my screw down tight, and it leaks maybe 3-5 drops worth of liquid at least once or twice a day.

not sure if you received extra screws where you bought your device? I did and replaced the one that came with it to one of the spares, this fixed my issue.

When I mount the coil, I do it with the 16g needle still in it. I lay the coil/needle diagonally across the deck, and sitting on it. After connecting the leads, I use the needle, which is still inside the coil, to pull the coil up off the deck. This does two things. First, it allows the leads to be as short as possible. Second, it tightens up the coil at the first and last wraps. If a coil is going to have a loose wrap, chances are, it will be at one of the ends. The last step is to remove the needle, after the coil is mounted and set to height. I then dry fire the coil, release the power button, and quickly squeeze the coil together while it's still hot, with a set of tweezers. The squeeze might take 3 or 4 times. When the coil is done, it should always glow from the center out when it's fired; never from either end.

Hi guys!

I just ordered myself a Kayfun Lite from intaste.de yesterday.
Also grabbed a spares kit, the provari ring, and the 510 driptip bender.
Can't wait to receive it. Site says 3-4 days delivery, which I found hard to believe but I did see on the first 20 pages of this thread that they do get delivered pretty quick if theres no issues with customs.

Anyone ordered to Australia from intaste before? How long did it take you?
