Vapedivr thank you for the extensive reply. Well I'm not having an issue with dry hits anymore as I said. I used to have it but I was using cotton hemp and I was choking it. Now I have very good feeding. My problem is with the flooding. I see your point regarding the thin liquid or thin wick. I don't believe I have hot spots. And the wick seems just right. The only thing I can think of is thinning the liquid or too much heat is causing the pressure to change dramatically and causing flood. Whatever the problem is, how can I solve it? How are people using PG in their kayfun with this setup? My juice is actually 50/50. Do I add more cotton? Do I block the channels?

I do use 50/50 also and up, so maybe its not the juice. I also know that the cotton wicks and micros can handle a lot of power, my coils are .6 to .7 ohms with 26g wire which produces about 20 watts. if I had to make a guess it would be the wick. how would you say yours compares to this? actually I for some reason cannot upload my pics, but if you go back about 5 pages on this thread I had posted 3 pics of one of my particular builds. just curious how yours compares. thanks

Do you have a pic of your setup? My juice is 50/50 and I've never had any flooding at all. Much of the time my problem is dryness.

can I ask you a question pertaining to your nemesis device? what is the advantage of using a mech if you are only limiting it to 10 watts? is it just because you like the way the device looks? or is it just the fact that it is a solid device with no wires or chip-set that can break down? I ask because for me personally I use a mech to obtain wattages & resistances that I cannot obtain with a vv device. TBH if my provari could run resistances as low as .6 and could obtain wattages up to 20 watts I don't think I would actually use a non protected device(and that's why I am interested in a dna-20). I do however love the looks of the nemesis, it is a nice looking mod for sure and am just curious if that's the only reason you use it for.

I do like the way it looks. But not the only reason I got it. I wanted to try out a mech and also a kick, just experimenting really. The kick 2 will go to 15 watts and I just like the 10 watts right now. I started with a .9 ohm coil with no kick and it was great (I will do that again on another build) One of the things I like about the kick is the low battery indicator.

So I got the Nemesis for solid build and looks as well as being able to experiment with different things. For now I like this set up, but the next build I will probably try a lower ohm coil without the kick.

It's refreshing to see somebody stating relevant and real life wattage when using a mech!!! Instead of .6 ohm coil at 29+ watts....Kudos to you :toast:

you know I probably only see 20 watts for a very short time. when you factor voltage loss 20 watts is very short, if I had to guess at my wattage on average it would be closer to 18. I hear you on the above 25 watters. the couple of mechs that I have are like 3.8ish underload

that's why I love these rebuildables, so many different options. I just didn't realize you were just trying out different set-ups. I never even thought about the kick-1, but the kick-2 maybe something to think of for sure. thanks

I just built a delrin KFL-ish clone and bought a Russian 3.1 clone and have been reading threw you guys experiences with the KFL and have learned a lot! Thanks!

I have noticed you mention wanting a DNA mod. Do it, you won't be let down. That is what I use almost exclusively, got a Kick2 for my tube mechs and it vapes just like the DNA20 (much better then the Kick1 IMHO).

Edit - I forgot to mention....With a DNA20 mod, the worst voltage drop I have measured is 0.05v from what it says its outputting.

although I am ready to buy a dna-20 box mod, I would really like to get a tube. missed out on the cyborg but might have a chance on the future. what one do you have?

I have built several DNA mods and lucked into mamu lexi. I think the cyborg looks very nice, but with a stout atty like a KFL/etc its going to be extremely tipsy...and long with 18650. That said, I still wouldn't mind one :D

I recently stated that I never have leaking issues with the KFL. Well, there is one scenario where I get a fair amount of seepage: dramatic temperature differential. Not terribly unexpected, but lately it's been close to 100 degrees f. out, and when I transition back and forth from air conditioned spaces, to outdoors - probably a 40 degree difference - it leaks a bit out of the breather hole. This is similar to the altitude discussion from earlier, of course. Anyway, it's not a lot of leakage. Enough to be a little messy, but not enough where I feel I'm losing a significant amount of juice.

still cannot get in any photos. will try again later. I wanted to post a few pics of a wick set-up. I even went back to a post 100 pages ago where I knew I had them, my post is there but the photo's are gone. whats going on? when I try to upload I get an error message.

It could be that you have exceeded your quota for pic storage, for non-supporting members its not that much. Even as a supporting member I use photobucket. With photobucket you can post more than 5 pics per post and can post much larger and easier to see pics.

I can see them but I just got up from another nap (I nap a lot LOL) I don't upload to ecf.. I upload my pics to photobucket and then copy and paste the img link

I am really wondering if some of these units have deeper and shallower grooves than others, that might account for some of us who can't seem to get consistent wicking while others can't get it to stop over wicking. I rewicked yesterday and did somethings that I don't normally do... absolutely perfect wicking on this build. No dryness at all. every vape is saturated and awesome. It's nice that I haven't had to do dry draws to get juice into the chamber. But then again I HAVE had a few wicks that wicked perfectly throughout their lifespan.

I don't know.. maybe it's personal LOL

I'm digging the Kick2 as well. I still prefer unregulated, and I never really liked the Kick. But with the Kick2 I can almost forget I have an electronic doohickey in there.

has anyone played with vertical coils in the kayfun? I think I want to try that next, the inlet hole right below the chimney seems like it would work very good with cotton around the outside of a vertical coil and air passing up through the center

Funny, I was thinking along the same lines last night - even to the point of considering wicking the outside of the coil rather than the inside. I haven't tried it yet, but I intend to at some point. Downfall could be excessive spitting, so may have to use some sort of mesh or screen under the drip tip.

My thoughts exactly. I've thought about taking a dremel to mine......
