I know the cotton wick length has been a bit of a topic lately. Nice if those who are getting great results post pictures of the wick installed.

I have found that works the best for for me, as I have been trying different cotton 'length's' at the base.
I have tried many different lengths like laying all the across the base, 3/4 across the base, straight to the feed channel, short and hanging, some are better than others. Here's the cotton length that gives me juicy sweet vapes consistently.

My wick comes out of the coil and goes straight down the side wall and just kisses the base flush.
The juice will pool on the base when taking a pull, and, IMO, the wick at this location seems to be able to draw more juice quickly, maybe because the cotton is a straighter shot to the coil, or it sits in more of a pool when taking a pull....not sure, but thats my guess. The cotton wick has been the part I have been tinkering the most with. I have found also, that the juiceiest pulls come from when I vape the KFL straight up and down (vertically). Although holding it straight out 'horizontally' like a cig, it still vapes fine, but not like the sweet juicy pulls I get vertically, particularly when chain vaping...
I really dont have any wicking issues with the other layouts, this one just gives me juicier and more flavorfull pulls.
The KFL is phenominal.

Yep, mine are just a tad longer, bending slightly out along the base almost to the slot. Works very well.

Mine is more like the photo, barely touching (if at all the bottom) and it stills fine. My first builds were seeping a bit through the airhole so I lifted them up (very similar to the photo) and that seem to have stopped the seepage.

KFL is too great and fairly easy build so I bought few gennys to torture myself. Popped bunch of coils yesterday :)

Ok so after spending 2 weeks with my Kayfun Lite everything seems ok and my builds seem to be getting better.

I have a few questions that i dont think were covered here ( could be wrong ) that maybe someone can answer for me that i cant really figure out.

1) At times, When i remove my KFL from my device, I will notice that the bottom of the KFL has juice on it along with juice on the top cap of my device. Its not bad to were it runs down the device, It just seems to be on the bottom of KFL and top cap of device. Its NOT the center screw and its not the fill screw. I know this for sure because if i wipe away the bottom and clean it off, I will then sit my KFL on my desk, not attached to a mod and i will check it several hours later and not 1 drop of juice is anywhere? I can unscrew it, Wipe it off and screw it back on and check back in a hour or longer and its fine? This happens at random times and i have no idea why. It sometimes happens and sometimes not, On the same build, Same device.. really odd? Any idea?

2) Lets say i make a new build and fill up my KFL with juice and then find out that the build kind of sucks... Is there a way to rebuild it without wasting all the juice? Like flipping it upside down and removing the bottom deck? or is the only way to remove the juice with a syringe and do it that way?

3) after a new build and juice refill i notice it works better when i give it a primer puff or 2. Whats the difference in prime puffing it with your finger over the airhole on the bottom as opposed to prime puffing it without your finger over the hole?

4) Is it ok to refill my KFL with juice by removing the top cap as opposed to thru the fill port on the bottom and removing the screw?

Thanks

I will try and tackle 1 & 2:

Answer 1). I have had similar issues with a drop, very small, of juice on the top cap of my mech. Couldn't figure it out, until I stripped the stock fill screw on the KFL. After replacing the stock fill screw with one of the three(2?) spares that comes with, I haven't had that issue. To me it was minimal, and the performance of the KFL far outweighed that issue. Try replacing the screw.

Answer 2). Syringe it. Otherwise, you will have to find a way to plug the holes in the device while unscrewing the deck from the bottom. That process seems too time consuming and methodical. Why go through that when pulling the juice out is lightning fast?

These answers are based on opinion only and shouldn't be confused with The Gospel.

Digitals got 1 and 2
3.no finger over the air hole=not much liquid is pulled into the vapor camber(or wicks)
4.it can be refilled from the top but the airhole must be covered untill the top cap is screwed back on or it will leak.Kinda like putting your finger on top of a straw full of liquid,as long as your finger is covering the staw, liquid stays in,take your finger off the end
and the liquid rushes out.

Wow there is a lot of pages to rummage through.. have a quick question..

PLUID in Kayfun lite.. works great but yes.. the 4C O ring swells and I have been using my spares but now I have all but swelled them all up.

Has a solution been found for this problem? Or does anyone know the measurements of this O ring?

Thanks in advance.. I did do a search but just got directed to this whopping thread.

Take the drip tip out, put in a cartotank tool to block the hole. Turn it upside down. Unscrew the base off the tank. Voila.

Some people think that's more work than poking a syringe through the fill hole and sucking out all the juice. Try both, see which you prefer.

4) Is it ok to refill my KFL with juice by removing the top cap as opposed to thru the fill port on the bottom and removing the screw?

That's how I fill, exclusively.

Cover the air hole with a finger - and leave it there the entire time.

Unscrew the top cap and fill. Get the top cap back on just until the threads catch - no further. Flip the entire thing upside down, and wait a couple of seconds for the juice to settle - don't worry, the juice won't leak out. With it still upside down (and your finger still covering the air hole) tighten the top cap. Once it is tight, flip it back right side up. Wait a couple seconds for the juice to settle, then you can take your finger off of the air hole.

KFL and PV Cones back in stock on inTaste, just ordered one. Now I just need to figure out a good place to order some wicks and wires. Already picked up some cotton balls, but figure I'll try out silica too. From what I've read the best quality silica is the German kind? Where is a good place to snag some? Where is a good place to buy kanthal?

I'm going to be aiming for around 2-3ohm coils and micro coils, what gauge wire do you suggest. I thought about getting 28, 30 and 32, but I'm guessing at least 1 type will end up unused.

Does XC-116 work okay in the KFL?

A common discussion regarding the Kayfun Lite is juice capacity. For the record...the Kayfun Lite capacity is approximately 4.5 - 5.0 mls. However, you cannot fill it all the way! You must leave some air inside or it will leak.

The way I learned (and still do it this way) is I turn the KFL upside down to access the fill hole but I keep it at an angle while filling. As it fills, a bubble will appear in your window. Leave a pea-sized bubble appearing in the window then screw in your fill hole. This will leave you with 4.0mls of juice and this is your effective capacity of the Kayfun Lite.

This syringe is from a hospital so I'm certain it is accurate (let's hope for our sakes anyway). The black grommet on the plunger was at the 5.2ml mark when i began. I filled the KFL leaving a pea sized bubble in the window (when tilted). As you can see, there is 1.2 ml of juice remaining in the syringe. So 5.2 minus 1.2 ='s 4.0 mls effective capacity. Qualification: I filled using a rinsed and cleaned KFL. If you're refilling without cleaning, then there is likely a little residual in your tank and will require slightly less than 4.0 mls to refill.

Thanks, and sure we care!

I ordered from c9v as well and had it in my hands within 5 days, which is outstanding considering I was expecting 2 weeks. Was it a 3 day delivery, No, but it was still fast considering the location of the shipper. Came with extras too. I'm located under the Great Lakes for reference.

Anyways, congrats on your purchase. I'm assuming it is your first Kayfun, so report back on the "How To's" and be prepared to enjoy that thing.

I know I do!
