YAY. Finally got my KFL in the mail (my first rba). Sadly my Kanthal STILL hasn't shipped (despite getting the tracking number on Satuday :(). So while I agonize and wait over the next few days, now I must decide what to attempt for my first build. I have Ekowool, Cotton Balls, Cotton Yarn and XC-116 to worth with. Not sure if I should just go straight to Micro coils, or try a more traditional setup with XC-116 and a more standard coil. Aiming to hit between 2.5 and 3.2 ohm.

Any suggestions for a first build?

Edit: Oh, and I was pleasantly surprised by how small the KFL is, for whatever reason these things always look huge in the photos. Had the same reaction when I got my Provari despite having seen/held one like a year ago.

Hi, Congrats!
If it is your first rba then I'd suggest - go with the traditional builds for few days, with a Silica or EkoW. Microcoil & Cotton should be attempted later. Luckily the Kayfuns go well with anything you put into them, i.e. an Astounding Vape!

Good advice. On the other hand, building a micro-coil is so dang easy!! :)

Woohoo!! Got my vapemail in today as well!! Built an 8/7 wrap 2mm diameter 30awg Kanthal A-1 microcoil with cotton laid across the deck as recommended by most. 1.8ohms on my eGo-C for now though. My Nemesis Clone mod will come in later this week, but for now I'm in vape heaven!! I'm tempted to go hit my cheap clearos with a hammer on the parking lot a'la Office Space after trying this thing!!

I got about the same level of flavor I was getting with micro coils and cotton wicks on my clearos (a good ammount of flavor, not muted at all) and the draw is SOOO much better!! Blowing clouds so easily I no longer feel like I'm on a thin balancing cord of having to draw with just the right amount of strength to get a good vape without burning my wick or flooding the atty. This thing is amazing!

Now I have to explain to my wife that I need to buy at least three more of these bad boys to keep my 4 daily liquids on rotation. Any ideas? :p

U r right Sir, just that I didn't want him/her to run back on the forum asking the cotton's dimensions if s/he unfortunately hit a dry or overwicked! Thought s/he should enjoy the first few days with this amazing atty w/out any hiccups... and the standard 'Figure-8' Silica / EkoW could be a definite, easy and satisfying build.

You are exactly correct! Go with what you know out of the gate.

One of two things...

1) Buy her twice the equivalent of what you spend on more KF's, or..

2) Consider that she would be within her rights for reaming you out for spending that much money.

I would consider both options. You WILL be reamed for sure(optionA), but "hopefully" moving forward with the showering of gifts(optionB) will get you back into good graces.

Do post your results sir :D

LOL. Well its here birthday in two weeks. I'll order one more when intaste gets stock and a Coach handbag to equalize the pressure.

FYI, the eGo is running it quite nicely! I think it looks good on the silver one if I do say so myself. I do have some 18350 batteries for when my Nem clone gets in though so I'll have options for when I'm on the road. I definitely dont feel like tinkering with my clearo atties anymore though.

So far so good. 2 hours of hitting it every few seconds, no dry hits, no gurgles, I've used it upside down, left it alone with the air hole pointing down and no leaks. Hit it out of the park with the first build I put into it! :) Bad part is that I want to run down the tank and try my other flavors on it! I'm starting to get dissy with all this 18mg nic juice going into my system. Time to open a beer up to hold it down. :2cool:

Should've gotten a siringe to suck the juice out and swap in my Dutch Apple Pie or, Butter Pecan or Peanut Butter... Ahhhh... You get the idea!

:vapor:
