/me raises hand!!

Call me jaded, but I'm sticking with what I have learned through almost 3 years of using AW.

Yes, there are younger upstarts with shiny new specs and higher amp ratings than AW. There are also a LOT more reviews on how those young upstarts don't last too long. Bigger does not always mean better.

I chose the Provari because I can carry it with confidence. I choose AW for much the same reason.

I respect your opinion, and appreciate you sharing it, but AW has stood the test of time when it comes to ecig batteries.

I understand where you guys are coming from, but Panasonic is far from a shiny upstart. I was just offering my expertise based on something I am well versed in as a thank you to those who helped me through the KFL learning process. Lots of people use their batteries in their vaping devices and other devices. I found out about Orbtronic here on the ECF and then found they're actually made by Panasonic and are the same thing but cheaper. If you take apart a battery pack that powers a laptop or drill for example, you'll find a series of 18650 battery cells. Both AW and Panasonic make these for vaping and other commercial purposes. The youtube video was just an example of person testing the heat from a short. It's not really a question of brand here. Hybrid batteries have advanced chemistry beyond those of IWR's, making them safer and they also last longer.

Cutting edge RBA's make my vape taste better. Cutting edge batteries don't. :)

Hahaha...well that's true, but you can certainly enjoy that experience longer. At the end of the day you end up with more mah and a battery that, if accidentally shorted, will stay cooler and is less likely to explode. AW doesn't even offer a single battery with built-in protection that I'm aware of either.

Hey all,

I'm trying to come up with some lists of parts/orings for popular gear, and I'd like someone with proper measuring tools to
verify my numbers.

I don't want to pay shipping from eu, I'm not gonna buy the reverend's stolen extra parts either.
Not to mention the carbon footprint buying 4 orings and 2 screws have.
Probably made in china, shipped to germany, shipped to UK, shipped to me? No thanks.
I have enough guilt.

So so far for the kayfun

these orings are listed cross section x Inner Diameter cs x id

The infamous 4c: 1.5 x 5m or a #008 works in a jam.

Oring 1C: 1 x 19m

NEed help here:

fill screw : my measurement was initially 2.35 x .5 but these are what i found at mcmaster.

Fill screw: length 5mm
width/pitch 2.5 x .45
or 2.0 x .4

and the post screws, I haven't been able to empty this thing to take a scale to it. you know cause i like it too much.lol :)

SO if anyone has any idea about the post screw size lmk

anyone care to help?

Battery performance is relative to their use and subjective to their user. Specs in large part are totally false or well over represented. You must look at a battery test curve. Yes there is always new technology but for the most part power density for a given area is much unchanged. Added mah is typically at the cost of internal resistance and load capability and vise versa.

I can say that in a recent project on a Reo, that after some modding with a charged 1600mah AW and 0.8ohm coil I was getting 3.95v-3.97v at the atty under load. Which was 0.15v-0.25v higher than some of my older 2000mah AW cells.

I don't have any of the higher mah 18650's because I just don't trust their performance and I have never seen anyone using them post loaded vdrop numbers that compare to the AW 1600's

Depending on the load at which the battery is used and the batteries discharge curve, it's quite possible that a lower mah battery will actually have higher voltage to the atty for a longer period of time. It all depends on the battery and the load at which it's used.

To end the battery debate with some satire; I just found 4 working Samsung ICR18650-26C batteries in an unused laptop battery I had laying around. I'm so ...... at life that I'm going to build a 0.2ohm quad coil and chain vape the .... of out a fully over charged one. If I don't post anymore by tonight, I didn't make it! Nice knowing you!

No but in all seriousness I looked up the specs of these and their max discharge is 5amps, witch is above the amperage I use running a 1ohm coil. On my fully charged 18500's at 4.2v they drop to 4v and at that voltage I get 4amps, that quickly goes down to 3.8 and stays around there for the greater part of the day at 3.6 - 3.8 amps so I assume these should be ok to use. I plan on getting a kick2 sooner than later so I bet the protection on that should be fine, just keep at at or below 13watts.

I feel like we've hijacked this topic with a battery debate. We should really stop. I wish I could help the poor guy looking for part stats but I can't since mine hasn't arrived yet.

Vaprev has replacement o-ring kits for $2.50 for the 3.1 and KFL....The 3.1 kit comes with post screws which should probably fit the KFL

"Note: Lite o-ring kits come with 3 replacement fill hole screws only (post screws are not supplied from manufacturer) and a total of 5 o-rings. V3.1 o-ring kits come with two post screws and a total of 6 to 7 o-rings. "
Kayfun Spare O-ring and Replacement Screw Set For V3.1 and Lite - Accessories - SvoëMesto - Rebuildables

It is common for machine screws to be slightly under sized so I would say its 2.5mm x 0.45 pitch 5mm long

Hi guys/gals I've been following this thread for several weeks now and have learned a lot from the experts about the KFL. I've been so impressed that I ordered a KFL from VapeRev yesterday and it's now in the mail. I currently own a Russian 91% and have been impressed with it's flavor, vapor and TH, so much so, that I decided to buy the "real thing". Now the wait. I'm just wondering, not that it matters much, are the latest KFL's still being delivered with the "beauty mark" on the deck?
Thanks again for sharing your experience and opinions of the KFL.

thanks bap,

I know vaprev has those stolen packs of xtras, and i'm not gonna buy em.

for like 20$ i can get all those parts and they will last a lifetime.

like 100 of each oring and 25 of each screw

I don't have a KFL or I could give you the exact screw pitch using my thread pitch gauges, but I don't see why they would use custom threads and hardware.

Yeah that is shameful of Vaprev.

Consumer Battery Manufacturers:
AW is not a battery manufacturer AFAIK. They are just repackagers (exactly like Efest), but are known to 'procure & package' the best of the best batteries in the market. Which incidentally, are usually Panasonics;).

The top consumer battery manufacturers are:
(A) Alkaline: Duracell, Energizer, Gold Peak (Lithium also), Hitachi Maxell, Mugen Power (Lithium too), Nippo, Rayovac
(B) Lithium: LG, Panasonic (Alkaline also), Sanyo (Alkaline also), Sony, Tadiran, Uniross (Alkaline also), VARTA (Alkaline also)

Both my KFL and 3.1 have the beauty marks on the deck. Lite was purchased from vaperev and 3.1 from cloud9. Welcome to the club Mike!!!
