So I think I figured our my lack of flavor problem...a lack of air, after a jetting adjustment opening the air screw 1/2 turn I found the flavor, not a big fan of the airy draw, but it sure helped the flavor and vapor production. In regards to the don't twist your wick method, i do twist mine and never had anything even resembling a dry hit, even with the thick Bobas Bounty. I did one build with 30ga and did notice the coil fire much quicker than with 28ga, i woulda thought it would have been the other way around, puzzling...I'd think you'd want the quicker fire up time, next build gonna go back to the 30 in the same resistance and see what I get. Keep those tips and tricks coming fellas...thanks again.

I never had an issue twisting my wicks up good when I used to build it at 1.6ohms (I've always had them on Mechanicals, only resently got a Kick2 to regulate it if I want to). Now that I'm building at 1.1ohms and using a Kick2 to crank it to 15 watts wicking issues where quickly evident for me. Took me a while to figure it out but now that I have I have to force myself not to try building them in any other way. Working even better for me now than when I tried my hybrid build with solid mesh wick aided by cotton tails wrapped on the ends. And I was raving all about that build when I did it a month ago. I could try this one with mesh again to see if it does work as some of my juices taste quite a bit better through mesh though.

I finally fixed the leak from the bottom screw on my Kayfun Lite. I drilling the bottom screw hole about 2 mm then added a little rubber washer from my Gus G16 extra parts and no leaks from that screw anymore.

I just wrapped my screw with a little teflon tape. No more leaking. Yay.

If someone could offer some advice on how to setup my Kayfun 3.1 for use on a Nemesis I would really appreciate it? I have a kick coming from slowtech but who knows how long that will take so I need to keep the ohm's suitable for a mech. I have a figure 8 build in it now with 2mm silica infused ekowool & a 4 wrap of 28 kanthal @ 1.ohm. The first vape I take from it with this setup is always great, good vapor, GREAT flavor & perfect throat hit, however unless I wait like 10 sec between vapes it starts to get dry, not like a full dry hit but I can tell its not wicking fast enough for the heat the coil is producing. If I try to chain vape it definitely gets dry & sometimes I really enjoy chain vaping. The juice channels aren't blocked, the loops of the figure 8 are resting right where they should be, just touching the deck above the juice channels, so I believe I just did too few wraps, I think a 5 wrap would have been perfect. So I was thinking of doing the same figure 8 build but with a 5 wrap & see how that goes, however I think I want to try a micro coil & cotton first, I have 27 & 28 gauge kanthal, cotton yarn & regular cotton balls (I'm trying to find some organic cotton balls locally). How should I go about setting it up with what I have? What should I wrap my coil on, drill bit? What size? How many wraps of what gauge kanthal should I shoot for to use on a mech? Thanks for any help & advice, I appreciate it fellow vapers. Happy Turkey Day everyone!!!

mr-bellowfellow, the easiest thing to try would be a looser coil or smaller wick, since your wick is what it is, I would suggest a looser coil. Also make sure your not overfilling. Sounds like you have good understanding of what is needed for the wick ends, but it never hurts to systematically try things like more or less wick down to the channels.

Thanks for the quick reply bapgood. So what ohm's should I stay within for use on my Nemesis without a kick? I'm a bit confused on that, lol. I like a warm, saturated vape. Should I stay within the same ohm range when using a mech no matter what build I'm doing? Gotta run to the store to get some Turkey Dinner supplies, be back in about an hour, anxious to read your reply/s, THANKS!

PS. If I could actually speak with someone with experience with the Kayfun that would be GREAT! Let me know if I can call you or you can call me sometime today, won't take long, let me know if you want my #, I'll be back in about an hour, thanks again.

I'd be glad to speak to you this evening if you want. I'm on the east coast so there is a time difference. Just inbox me and tell me when you will be available. We're having supper in about 30 minutes and I'll be home by around 9pm (my time) I'll be up till at least 11pm (my time)

mr-bellowfellow, sorry I'm not much help on the mech side of things. I run either a DNA20 mod or a kick2 mod, however there are a lot of people in this thread using mechs. I would go out on a limb and suggest maybe about 1.5ohms to start with. Vapdivrr has a great video on setting up a micro coil build, plus there are others linked in this thread also.

Back to the ohms question....I guess it might help to know what you typically run on other attys. This is largely a personal preference thing.

Here is the video

Is the KFL designed to make me dislike my gennys now? Lol

I still use my genesis attys.. I just use micro coils and cotton instead of mesh. :) For me it's the same great vape as mesh...without the fiddling and leaking.

Folks in cold climates, y'all seeing any changes in how the KFL wicks higher VG juices?

We're in the low low temps these days, and I'm finding wicking issues when out for extended periods with some of my 50-50 juices.

That's funny! I was just about to post the same thing! I've noticed that what mine gets cold it doesn't wick well until it warms up. I went to my mom's tonight and left the kfl in the car...its in the high 20s here. When I got back to the car I could tell it was wicking sluggish. My juice is 50/50. I've been noticing this here lately...we keep our house pretty cold at night.

I'm going to join the yes club. However my experience was with the Taifun GT, just went to the movies left one mod and TGT in the car and took anther mod and TGT with me. When I got back to the car the setup I had left in the car just acted like it didn't want to participate. Warmed up and back working like a champ.

yea.. I haven't been too concerned about it. It doesn't take long to heat back up (with use).
