No no no. COUNTER clockwise! Clockwise can pull the wire when screwing down and deform the coil. So Says I!

CC for me. I do an angled coil, this coil is angled so that the wick tails run in the same direction as the chimney screws. being that this is the way I do it, the coil has to be coiled CC for if it were coiled C the last wrap would be coming over then down to the screw heads.

Awesome name too.. with a great background!

Kali is crafted from striped Macassar Ebony from Indonesia. The 18500 size is a little on the larger size, but it's hard not to notice her when she's in the room. :)

P.S - Delphi was a wonderful experience during my visit there. Steeped in history.. Athens was pure madness!!

I have not been to Delphi, but I have been to Athens, and I agree with you. We were on a Mediterranean cruise, and the day we were in Athens was a national holiday. Of course, having never been to Athens, we went to the Acropolis...apparently also with the president of Greece, the entire Greek honor guard, and every school child in Athens. Needless to say, it was not the best impression of Athens.

Kali is stunning...love the dark wood, and the tank and pipe stem are perfect choices for her.

Thank you! Well, atleast you got to see the Acropolis. The weekend that I was passing through there, they had the whole place closed due to some construction..

The only view I had of it was from the top of a distant Hill lookout point.

I plan to head back there someday, to see the city properly and enjoy again the sunset at nearby Lake Vouliagmeni.

Opa!!

Ahem.. back on topic. Kali with KFL on it..

She's a real beauty!

And that's a nice set of pipes you're flashing...er in that gallery...and you did use a flash. Great settings, too!

I have a question about the pipe in photo 2, the one with the KFL. Which battery does it take? And who is that happy guy with the star on his shirt? (Ok, that was two questions.)

I may need to spend more time in that pipe thread. I've been looking at a wooden DNA30 pipe becoming available soon, but your collection of photos has really caught my eye.

Pipe number 2 is a 18500 Dublin from Eipemods. As for the character in the background, I cannot for the life of me remember his name right now. A friend of mine had given me it back in the day..

It'll come back to me.

What DNA30 pipe? .. do point me in that direction. :)

I did some comparing of clones to see which one I actually got from gotvapes and would guess based on pictures it is the Tobeco. It has worked great and the clear section I picked up from Accessories - SvoëMesto - Rebuildables fit perfectly. I also bought their parts package for it and think I got the last one as they don't show the Kayfun Lite Plus again just the Kayfun Lite now. I've been vaping with it now two days with very good success and no problems with it at all.

have you tightened up your airflow any? sometimes a tighter airflow can make the juice rise up higher in the chamber on a draw, and then suck back gunk. when a kayfun has the ideal feed then the juice will not rise up as high in the chamber and the tails of the wick are rarely gunked enough to transfer back to the tank. for a kayfun to feed well it only needs the juice to rise up to the tails, the wick will bring it up to the coil. what you are describing sounds like either your tails are not at the bottom of the wells or you are drawing too hard. you can try drawing a little less suction or opening up your airflow slightly if you have that option. are you doing a lot of dry pulls to prime? this can sometimes cause the wick to float up and no longer sit at the bottom of the well too, also causing something like you describe. that's all I got :)

Hey, thanks for the insight.
-My wicking setups are top notch, thanks to Truman and some others.
-The AFC stays as open as possible for the atty to sit flush on the mod. I never mess with that.
-I've also never prime-puffed. When rewicking I get things saturated, and I always put a few drops
onto the channels before re-assy to watch the juice get sucked up in there.

I did however run a test on the pressure of my draw.
I mixed up the "chemtrails" migrating out of the channels to make the tank juice all the same color.
I then vaped for awhile, with very slow and consistent draws, and no dark juice came out of the channels.
So that makes total sense, BUT, I'm not sucking any harder than I ever have on my KF's.

I pay close attention to my sucking. Ever since I struck out at T-Ball at the age of 6, my
sucking has remained very consistent.
:p

Updates to kfl+

"Aren't you tired of getting dirt dicked in your face" Nacho Libre

Looks like they machined a shoulder inside the top cap for the o-ring, allowing for the chimney to go all the way through the ring, instead of making just enough contact to make a seal. I like that.

So the only thing revised is the drip tip and the engraving?

It looks like they've made some modification to the inside of the top cap too. It's my first + so, would not be able to compare the differences between the + models. My other 4 are regular KFL's.

Dusty I've re-wicked with the yarn 4/5 times now...Cotton is so 2013...Thanks for the tip Man!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad that it's working out for you, El Dee. Yarn has indeed made my life much easier, although it's still funny to notice the looks I get when I wander through the "knitting" aisles at the local crafts store. :D

The top cap is identical between the KFL and the first KFL+. AFAIK, only the base was changed on the KFL+ to add the AFC screw. I wonder if that new top cap would help prevent expanding the o-ring when tank cracking juices are used?

On that note, I accidentally filled one with a tank cracker just before going to bed last night. Woke up with juice dripping all over. And I didn't even notice until I reached out and put my hand on it.

Ech. There must be a better way to phrase that.
