28ga is already on the way from Lighning Vapes :)
It should be here tomorrow but it ain't broke just yet.

Larger diameter = smaller # guage = less resistance = check, got it now.

I got the 32ga a while back, I must have been thinking of rebuilding evod coils ATT

I think you will like the 28g. imo it produces a better flavor, but can also add more heat. the most popular 28g set up is about 12 wraps depending on your diameter bit with resistances about 1.4Ω. this resistance is a balance between good flavor and great wick contact without taking to long to heat up. now if this vape is to warm for you, you can up the resistance by doing more wraps but just remember the more wraps the greater the lag time. some like a fast warmer vape,(me), while some like a slower cooler vape, so its all about trying and experimenting to find your sweet spot.

are you saying my videos are long and boring? lol. I do try to keep them as close to the 20 min mark as possible, so that's what I have in mind, i'll have to work fast.

Ha! Not at all. It just sounds like you want to cover a lot of ground. Three rebuilds? Can you do three in 20 minutes? And have time to instruct/explain?

It must be the insulator that sticks up through the air duct.
That shouldn't short since it's an insulator right?

mowgli in your pic of the coil, I see a slight twist of your positive post. you see how the bottom of the mount is not even with the insulator. in this position its no issue at all but just take note that sometimes when you tighten up the screws it can twist the positive plate. maybe you know this already and sorry if you do but it can be tightened up by holding this positive plate with a tweezers and then tightening up the 510 screw

good point and i really don't know actually but I will try.

Well, I look forward to watching it. You've chimed in with lots of thoughts on wire size, wraps, diameters, power requirements, etc. It would be nice to have it summarized in one concise vid. I know you have spent as much time on experimenting with these factors as anyone. I trust you will post it on this thread???

I had to hold the whole deal with pliers while also keeping the pos/neg gap parallel with a flat screwdriver tip wedged in.
Does the +pole insulator twist? I thought it stayed put while the pole swiveled.
The poles's gap is even so it's good enough. I'll see if I can get the insulator positioned better next time.
It'll be more photogenic ;)

Finally got my m tank today, and I'm super happy. I love being able to see my juice level right till the end.

I also just found out that watching the bubbles float up through the m tank is a very soothing and addicting experience; im all lightheaded from vaping and watching em.

In any case, I think I might have found my gunkiest juice yet. Wake n vape from epic juice. Not even 3 quarter way through and the flavor just plummeted. Checks out the coil and wick:

you mean to tell me from all those kayfuns you hoarded up you never had a mtank? or was it also stolen and your just replacing?

I met someone on another thread that hoards gp paps mods and considering how much more those are then our kayfuns/r91, so your case of obtaining many kayfuns/r91 seems more down to earth lol.

I've been asking around a lot and just kinda kept putting it off haha. But now that I have my first one, I might just convert all my surviving ones to a m tank. I really like the way it looks. I was also thoroughly surprised at the difference in the amount of juice filling from the top and filling from the bottom makes. My only issue is that the one I got kinda bulges out in the middle so my kayfun just looks like it has a pot belly and love handles. :D

I'm def gonna hafta cut down on my hoarding; can't afford to do what I did before plus I've finally narrowed down to a nice staple of 5 juice.

Edit: forgot to mention how much I adore gp paps mods. So ....... beautiful

Whatever do you mean?! I've got 5 KFL's and no MTank. Is it a prerequisite to have one?, because I've never even considered changing up how the KFL's originally were designed. Not with a MTank or Mini/Mid size body kits.

No not a prerequisite nor did I mean to apply you had to get one. What I meant is that for some one that had 20+ kayfuns (at some point), I would have figured that they just love the kayfuns and would have atleast picked up atleast one mtank/nano tank as a customized accessory.

I've just begun building my kfl+ and not had problems, but also not achieved a completely satisfying result.
Your comments have been very helpful. Thank you.

What would be useful to relative beginners (and perhaps it's out here somewhere) is a quick-and-dirty guide to coils from a "sensory" standpoint rather than an electrical one. Something along the lines of: if you want a cool flavorful vape using 28g wire do this, and if you prefer a warm throat-hitting kick do this, and if you want something in between, modify this variable to increase/decrease this end-result. Basically, it is possible to take your post substitute my sensory phrases with your wattages, and provide general guidelines?

probably builds on a kayfun according to your desired wattage. like if someone likes fairly low wattages with the kayfun I think I know the best set up for that, as well as medium wattages and even high wattages. I have 3 different builds in mind that I believe are the best builds for those power settings. I consider 10 or under low/ 10 to 15 med/ and 15 to 20 hi wattage vapors. also there not crazy builds, just simple horizontal micros, the craziest it gets is twisted wire. along with this I just have a few more pointers about the builds in general

I figured you knew . The insulator stays put for the most part.

I managed to get pictures. I've just tugged the coil up a bit more since the flavor is still muted. 28 gauge Kanthal, 9 wraps around 2.4mm screwdriver, 1.8 ohm, wicked with cotton.
