Getting burnt hits after refill from button fill hole. Any suggestions? All is perfect until I refill.

Do you refill when its absolutely empty to the point u start noticing dry hits? I use to do that. But the wick ends up getting dry to the point you have to let it soak with the juice with primer puffs.

But now I usually refill when its really low but not dry in the tank.

Loosen then tighten the cap a few times.

That seems to be working. Thanks! It was really pissing me off because I finally figured out how to wick both my KFL+ and 91% so they were performing great. I filled em both up, got in the car, and 2nd or 3rd hit: yuck!

Are you leaving room for an air bubble? When I tried filling all the way full, it gave me dry hits...leaving a little "head room" really helped.

I confess I overfilled, but emptied some out when I got to my job. Was still getting burnt, but twisting the cap seems to have gotten the air bubbles out and restored proper vacuum. These puppies are a tad temperamental.

I've found that when I get dry hits I cover the air hole on the base and gently suck on the drip tip. After I see an air bubble float through the juice, I'm generally good to go. I can't overemphasize the gently part though. Too much sucking gets you flooded.

wicking is a vaping form of art. Once you get it down on new devices, it will come.

On the kayfun ive learned less cotton is more, and the height of the coil from the deck airhole is 1.3-1.4mm for my sweet spot. Too high and u get more throat hit and muted flavor, too low and you restrict airflow.

Ok. Got rid of the bunt hits, but now the flavor is muted. These things are driving me crazy!

You are on the home stretch.... hang in there.... Sounds like as LR said that you may have too much cotton in the wick. You really are looking for a balance of several variables. This sounds way more complex than it really is, but until you finally do hit that balance, it's frustrating..... patience, Grasshopper, patience.... you will prevail

Maybe those burnt/dry hits caused ur cotton to become torched causing the muteness. Prob best if u take the wick off, dry burn and rinse in a stream of faucet water dry burn again and rewick... Then next time don't overfill.

I was thinking that too. Once a cotton wick gets burnt, the taste is never quite the same

It's right when it vapes good, all day long. (Until I refill).

Yeah sounds like you just had too much negative pressure in the tank. Happens from time to time after filling. After I fill, I do the loosen/tighten cap deal a few times and its pretty much good to go for a while if not the duration of the tank.
