True... except when I use the Nano... then I seem to get nothing *but* burnt taste, but I can't see that it's dry hits, since the wick is always soaked when I take it apart, but the wick is scorched inside the coil. I just don't get it!

Andria if it's scorched I think you have the cotton just slightly too thick. It is such a fine line between the perfect build and one we fight with.
What is your ohms with the Nano?...i think its should be not less than 1.2 ohms with the shorter nanao i think you maybe getiing a too hot vape.
Then why would it work perfectly all day with the regular size kf?

This comment just made my morning. But I'm getting an RDA today, so I'll put the Nano away, come back to it later, maybe my understanding will grow subconsciously, while I do something entirely different. It's been known to happen.

Well, I tried a new experiment last night. As I mentioned, I had tried cotton when I was rebuilding my T3S coils, BUT, I had only tried cotton yarn, not real actual cotton. So I made a new coil for a T3S, a nice 2.3 Ω, nicely compressed; wicked it with this real organic cotton -- and it's *nearly* as good a vape as the Kayfun! No lie! I was astounded, because cotton yarn didn't do anything but burn in the T3S coils. I used it the rest of the evening, since I was getting my KF rewicked and refilled with my daytime 9mg for this morning, and it never did burn, never did give dry hits -- apparently I've finally learned the correct amount of wick for a given size.
So now I have no earthly idea what's wrong with that Nano, to give me such awful, burnt taste. I don't overfill it; I fill it right to the "top" of the clear part (the bottom actually, when it's right side up). I used the exact same coil/wick I had used all day in the regular size KF. No freaking clue what to try next. Maybe a Nano M-tank, so I can actually *see* where I'm filling it to; I really don't think I'm overfilling, but I guess I could be wrong; I certainly have been before.

Andria. Why not send the nano to someone on this thread to troubleshoot it for you. It sounds like a vacuum issue so a close inspection of the orings and a proper seating and lube should do it.
After fighting and arguing with my two KFL+'s I finally think I have it figured out. The video I watched when I got they cut off the cotton at the top of the chimney and pushed it down. I was constantly getting dry hits and have to reprime often resulting in leaks out the air hole. Ran across another thread and gave another method a shot and it works like a charm. Cut the cotton to length and use the juice to wet the cotton and mold it where you want it. Since then vaping nirvana. The push down method was leaving my cotton to far from the wicks. Once I started molding it it's been like vaping perfection.
Dumb idea / suggestion for you Andria...
Higher gauge, ie smaller wire, gets hotter faster. If you were to go with a larger diameter build, and perhaps even more wraps, of 28 gauge instead of the 32 you usually use, you can produce a coil that has about the same ohm rating but which should be 'gentler' on your e-liquid. Might do the trick for the nano build.
