I've been looking; and can't find much on building a taifun, no active thread anyway.
I lost my mech and kfl v2 at a firework/music feet Thursday night. Earlier that morning I scored a great deal on an authentic taifun.
I'm loving the thing! The flavor is better than the kayfuns.
I had it wrapped at 1.4 with steel mesh and a slica flavor wick. Decided this morning to rebuild it at 1.6 with just a cotton wick and it's even better!
Looking for ideas or to see if maybe there is something else I can try. The "bridge" wick coil is something totally new for me and I've noticed she does flood and gurgle easy if the wicking isn't just right.

Taifun thread. Rather lengthy and popular.

For this, what is the best Glass tank I can get, kinda like an M tank to replace the whole three piece section with pyrex or something clear.

There is something called a laugh quartz kit.
I've gone through a few of them and I'm personally not a fan.

I've gone through 3 of them and it's just kind of a pain because the glass is press fit and isn't really very snug. I fixed one by putting dental floss behind the I ring to flare them out a bit and gold onto the glass a little better.- just my experience.

Roger- kayfun has become its own subset of RBAs

It's at a point I can't help anyone set up their Kayfuns anymore. I have no idea what all the twists and quirks reside on all these variations. This thread started as a genuine Svoemesto KFL thread and stayed that way for a little while. Not anymore. And I don't think it's a surprise that we see more problems and troubles getting them to work right.

I have 3 different versions and with those 3 they all work the same from a build standpoint. But ones the v1 authentic, a v2 1:1 clone and the black. As for the other variants, i got nothin other than it's all the same "principal." Some of the lesser quality clones though, From what I've seen it looks like some sort of juice flow constriction comes into play or an airflow issue.
But I'm basing that strictly on pics.

That's what I am gathering too...juice flow or airflow. There is just no telling what some of these people are running into. When there is only one brand of KFL and their QC was top shelf we found few (if any) differences (or surprises). Nowadays, forget about it! Before when someone had a juice problem it was certain they were the problem and not the device. Now it's the device as much as it is the person. Every Tom, ...., and Harry makes a Kayfun now and who knows how they are making them, what equipment, and what (if any) QC procedures. Beats me!!

Yeah i think the biggest problem is the mindset that one clone is as good as the next, there is a HUGE difference between a 14dollar fastech clone and a 40 dollar ehpro or hcigar. The latter has a track score for being a quality well made device; and if they so chose could stand on their own feet should they decide to make a proprietary one. Whereas the fastech, I just feel like wherever you stand on clones, you should still by quality. And the companies that make the higher quality should remove the logos and advertise them as -----style.

Well, I think I found my setup.. Next to try is placing the coil a little lower. Like 1/2 the distance.. But so far, its working great, flavor is up, and it hasnt clogged or burned.. yet :)

although I have set up the coil in the kayfun at various heights depending on different coils, the absolute best height I have come up with is 1.22 mm. this for me, has performed the best as a balance of vapor and flavor. I have a blunt tip needle that is this diameter and this is what I use.
