That should do the trick!

actually it didn't.. not enough cotton through the coil, I could taste metal and after working successfully with genesis rbas for months, I know the taste of a setup that doesn't have proper wick to coil contact. I (again) took it apart and put another wick in it, this time a bit more cotton to be more in contact with the coil. Between constant vaping and all the juice on my fingers, I'm a bit over nic'ed lol. Anyway, I can tell a difference with more cotton through this coil.

No options for a glass tank anywhere for the KFL? I vape tank crackers daily.

Not possible b'coz the tank section is 'screwed'... while glass tanks are always 'press-fit'. For ur 'angry' juices - the metal section is the only way to go - and they r made for that too.

Yeah, its too hard to thread glass unfortunately and the the threads would just chip and crack off with thermal expansion s I would think, too bad because I vape some tank busters too, I wouldnt have a problem using the metal section but theres no way to tell how full it is when filling from the bottom, sure you can fill from the top but I always get bad leakage

Vape it dry - then fill exactly 3.5ml with a syringe.
Besides, if it overfills[anytime] u can always back up that syringe a bit, which'd suck the excess back.

hey guys just re-posting the video I had done before, it had audio issues because I had some music playing in the backround which u-tube messed with because of possible copyright infringments, anyways I drowned the original music out with some elevator music.

great job vap. science that is.
I had a couple of good builds when I first got my KF. Not sure what happened but instead of improving I kinda got worse at it :?:
I'm gonna go with your vid step by step and see what happens.
Hope you guys come up with a good eko or nextel build for this...

Someone can make a glass tank with ss caps that thread on but sadly nothing like that available.

The idea is good... I'd love to have one too. But, IMHO if anyone makes one - it'd cost as much as the K-Lite itself (just for that tiny tank section)!

What is your first recommended set up for the KFL considering the materials I have on hand (I won't do micro-coil/cotton until after I've found the best "other" set up). My current go to is 28g, 1Ω coil in an IGO-L on a mech. I just got the ekowool and haven't tried it but expect to retire normal silica soon.

Materials on hand:
2.5mm silica
1mm silica
2mm ekowool
28g kanthal
30g kanthal
(might have a bit of 32g kanthal left)

Dumb intuition tells me

I would try 2mm ekowool first. since you plan on retiring silica anyway. If you're going to use a mechanical mod, shoot for around 1.3 Ω or so first. You don't really need sub ohm with the K Lites, because the heat sink effect that is present with mesh wicks isn't a factor with soft wicks. Try 28ga or 30ga. IMO, 32ga is useless.
There are some good set up videos on youtube. When I first got mine, I did a couple set ups with the "figure 8", which is popular. But wrapping it is kind of a pain. Making an S with the ekowool, wrapping, and adjusting the 2 loops to lay across the shelf works just as well.
Eventually, you will want to try the micro coil/cotton wick set up.

My last microcoil/cotton build has been vaping along pretty good. I just put in a preorder for the russian 91% over at vaportek..less than $65 shipped and it comes with lots of extras. (use code vaporjoe6off to get a discount)

I've had a bit of a rocky start with my kfl but I'm quickly ironing out the kinks and learning it's quirks. When it's performing correctly, the vape is just as good as my subΩ mesh DID. I'm finding myself keeping it laying on it's side...just because I can LOL It's also nice not the have to worry about how it's oriented while vaping it

Hi, isn't it likely to take around 2-months to ship?

The Russian 91% is a clone of the Lite, with air control in the base, fill hole in base same as the Lite. So, its a cross between the Kayfun + Lite. I have done 1 preorder from there web site, took 20 days to receive.... what ever it was, i forgot. For the price, i went for 1 this morning. :2c:

Here is the revue from Todd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hr7E88DNJPE&feature=player_embedded

I have knee surgery scheduled in 9 days, so i will be stuck @ home for a few months. Plenty of time to wait.

you know I took over the idea on these micro coils from basically the reo's or dripping attys which were very successful. probably even more successful in drippers because of the constant juice being dripped. so when I got the fun it seemed to work extremely well. now with these micros I have seen resistances of over 2 ohms on drippers with wires as thin as 32g. now this is just a guess at this point but im wondering if the thinner wire and higher resistances are making the cotton dry. I have not felt this because im running 26g wire at very low voltages which inturns makes for a cooler coil. a 32g or 30g wire at high resistance with voltages upwards of 5v may be so hot that its drying out. this is just a guess right now and im actually going to do a coil like that to see. I just been vaping some bobas for the last hour and its been perfect, so its not the thicker juices causing the dry hits because bobas is very thick.

    I got to thinking today

(while grocery shopping LOL) that when I took out my 3 or 4 day old wick last night.. it wasn't burnt at all. So that leads me to believe that it wasn't the cotton that was giving me burnt tastes. I'm wondering if maybe I didn't have enough wick the coil contact. When I give advise on genesis rbas.. the most important that I tell people is to make sure every part of that coil is in contact with the wick. So maybe I had some bare coil that wasn't in contact with the wick. In my build last night, I knew immediately what the taste was and took the wick out and put in another thicker piece. So far on this tank it's working very well with no burnt hits.

When I had the burnt taste, I could alleviate it with strong draws to pretty much flood the chamber, as long as there was plenty of juice in the chamber, and the coil was wet I was good to go.

    yeah that would be sweet!

made my first micro coil with cotton and it's vaping awesome! tons of vapor and flavor... we'll see how long it holds up for me...

thanks to liveone and vapdivrr for all the great tips!
