After seeing these pics I pulled out my wick (yet again) and replaced it with a bigger wick. Big difference! I think my problem all along was my wicks were too skinny and I haven't been getting my whole coil in contact with my wick. When I pulled out my 3 day old wick yesterday, it wasn't burnt at all, not even singed so that tells me it wasn't my wick that was giving the burnt taste but a part of my coil that wasn't wet enough because my wicks were too wimpy.
You're right... a cotton ball will roll out flat! Makes it a lot easier to made a wick rather than just pulling pieces off the ball. (like eatting cotton candy) This time I didn't even try placing my wicks on the ledge, I just pulled them up, screwed on the chamber and then used tweezers to place them down in the chamber along the ledge, not packing them but just placing them. I now have micro coils with cotton in my rsst, my speroid, my kfl and my igo-l LOL
The cotton is wicking so well in the rsst that I have to vape opposite of how I do with mesh. I have to keep the wick/air hole on top, facing away from me rather than on the bottom, facing me. In the rsst, the cotton seem to be acting as a stopper of sorts, meaning that I can lay it on it's side and the juice doesn't run out the wick hole and out the air hole.
Its funny... I used cotton in my vivi novas and eventually gave up because it burnt too easy. Now I'm back to using cotton again. I'm not going to say that I won't be using silica again but so far, I like cotton much better.
