its a braided rope/tube. instead of a solid rope style. maybe the hollow center helps with wicking but im not paying extra to find out lol.

originally used for the seal on oven doors and then from there they went into aerospace uses and now its all over the industry. but even on their page it says made with silica strands.

The fill screw is *likely* an M2.5 Flat Heat machine screw. Including the head, the length is 5mm. I don't know how they measure the screws, but MrMetric.com has m2.5x4 & m2.5x5. I would think one of these would work fine. And they cost $0.02, but the shipping is flat rate priority for $6.

The Phil-Hole Screws are M 1.6. InTaste offers x 3 for FREE with any order. HERE is their specs.

Those are the grub screws for the airflow control on the 3.1es. I measured mine, and the outside thread diameter is ~3mm which would make it an M3 screw. I am curious where Intaste got those dimensions. Unless of course my understanding of metric machine screws is entirely off base, which very well could be the case...

The measurements of the Kfl fill screw is 2.5mm outside thread diameter, and total height of 5mm including the head... or so says my calipers :D

I can't wait to get mine Monday! I want details! LOL what resistance did you end up getting? What are you using them on? I've got ekowool in my rsst (1.3oms) on my Roller and it's great :) I kinda wish I had gone ahead and got 2 and I really wish I had gotten another pro-ring. :glare:

My gennys aren't going anywhere but I won't be using mesh in all of them anymore. Yep... options are great :D

So far, I'm using 2 mm ekowool. 5 wraps of 30ga kanthal. Figure 8 wick. 1.8 ohms. Running on a Provari. I haven't set one up for a mechanical yet. I figured I'd get my feet wet on a vv mod first.

did anyone have trouble getting the k-lites thru customs from intaste this time?

I ordered mine Tuesday morning right after getting up and seeing the email. Fedex said my scheduled delivery was Friday.. the Thursday it changed to Monday. So far it just says In Transit. Keeping my fingers crossed :)

Yep, u guys r right... that 1.6 cannot be the fill-hole screw indeed. However, InTaste's version of those 3 x screws' Free goodie bag that I received HAS all the Fill-Hole Screws ONLY. So now I have nothing to worry about this, but another worry crops in -- what if I lose one of those Terminal Screws? Arrrrghhhh.......

What set up and resistance are you running on the mechanical?

doubled 3mm with a 1.4 ish ohm coil, was going to try and go down to around 1 when this one gets torn down. but the mech was an afterthough so i didnt try to build strictly for it first. im sure a tuned setup would kick muck ....

seems every rebuild/tuning keeps getting little better each time. feels like a golf ball in my neck and i have to force myself to slow down cause its making me ill LOL

1.0 ohm is about what I figured. I set mine up on a Provari first, so I could fool around with the voltage, and use my Ohms Law calculator to see where to build the coil, in order to get the wattage I wanted. For the two juices I've tried, around 13.5 to 14.0 watts is about right. A 1.0 ohm coil should get me in the neighborhood. Maybe even a little higher. I can't see trying sub ohm. The ekowool doesn't act as a heat sink, like ss mesh does.
