So I got my first K Lite and I have tried a few setups but am not finding the flavor as good as everyone says and certainly not as good as my gennies, maybe I was expecting too much. Any suggestions , I am currently using a figure 8 with 2mm Ekowool it wicks well as in no dry hits but the flavor seems muted to me .

Apart from that great build quality and no leaks, if anyone has any tips on getting better flavor I would love to hear , thanks. :)

Flavor on silica depends partially on what kind of juice you're using. I find that silica generally does great with fruits and creamy dessert flavors. I generally don't like it as much for spiced or tobacco flavors - I tend to prefer gennies with mesh for these kinds of flavors. Of course, I used "generally" for both types of flavors as there are exceptions. For example, I prefer my Boba's on a silica dripper. I find that the kayfun does a pretty damn good job of emulating a silica dripper with reasonable size air holes.

Point of all of this - experiment. You spent $100 on an atty that is super easy to setup in myriad different ways - make the most of it. If all else fails, sell it to me!

Mine arrived from intaste today and yes, I got the cute little screwdriver and goodie bag full of o-rings and fill screws :D

It's a heavy little thing isn't it! Reminds my of the zap I used to have weightwise. It wasn't too difficult to setup. My first setup didn't work and I don't think I had it all screwed together properly. My deck went crocked like the pic in post #879. I took some pliers and put it back in place easily enough.. I think that's what caused the error code. Anyway, my second build was good. Using 2mm ekowool, figure 8 my resistance came out to 1.8.

I'm Vaping it side by side with a RSST, wicked with ekowool..1.3ohms on a Roller with the same juice (setup just now) Right off the bat I'm getting a tad more vapor and a little bit sharper flavor with the RSST/ekowool setup. The KFL has a nice draw and a very slight whistle. Even though I'm not getting quite as much vapor and flavor as my RSST with ekowool.. it's still plenty and extremely good. The flavor seems to be getting more pronounced as I vape it. It's just as good, but not better. The fact that it won't leak (I hope) edges it out over the silica wicked gennys though.

I'm very happy I bought it but my gennys (with silica) won't be collecting dust or scrapped.

edit... I've cranked up the voltage a bit.. 1.8ohms running at 4.2v and the flavor is coming out and pretty much matches the rsst/silica setup.

I'm absolutely thrilled with this thing! :D

I know I have posted this earlier in the thread but for those of you having wicking, vapor production, or flavor problems please check out this video that I made. I have spoken to quite a few people that have used this setup that have had great results as well. I get amazing flavor and vapor with this setup. In the video I used 28g kanthal which works great, but now I prefer .7 ribbon kanthal.

I had the same problem but after 12 hours of use, the flavor sky rocketed to awesomeness. Guess I just needed to break it in.

you could do a little experiment.. try wicking one of your gennys with silica and see what that tastes like. It may be that your particular juice just has better flavor with mesh rather than a silica based wick.

Thanks bro, but I always drip Grants Vanilla Custard on silica but I just don't get the same flavor at the same Ohms in the Kayfun, who knows why LOL.

Atlantis. Keep playing around with builds. I personally prefer regular old silica vs ekowool on my kayfuns. I've tried 1mm, 1.5, 2mm ekowool and I get better results with 2mm silica. One thing with the figure 8 method (and it's a great method) I feel that the coils can be too high/ far away from the air intake which, for me at least, leads to a slightly muted flavor. I've vaped 200 mls of GVC in my kayfuns, and I find the flavor to be up there with any atomizer I've tried (drippers included). Just play around with the distance of your coils to where the air intake (air duct) is and the amount of silica inside the evaporation chamber and you'll find the sweet spot. Took me a couple of weeks building to find my own personal favorite setup. But it's well worth it.

I'm not a bro.. I'm a sis ;) (my pic is on my profile page) try vaping at the same watts.

I feel like I accomplished what I set out to do.. find a vape as good as my gennys with a device that I don't have to babysit.
