Coming from the Genesis world I had reservations about other types of atomizers. I love my Genny.

I wrapped a 1.3 ohm coil around 1mm Ekowool using the recommended figure 8 wick pattern. Put it back together, easy as pie. Filled it up and BAM. Off the bat no dry hits or burnt taste that I was used to when rebuilding. This thing is a fog machine -- and what gets me most is the amount of throat hit/vapor I am getting compared to my DID with the same juice. It certainly does provide a much warmer vape.

The only thing I notice is the overall taste isn't as pronounced as I'd like. I wonder if this is inherent to Silica type wicks, maybe it gets better with time.

Anyways along with my super awesome V2.5 GP Paps I am pretty stoked. Together a match made in heaven.

I have the same setup on the way. Can't wait

So I tried the cotton and micro coil setup -- either I did something wrong or I prefer eko with a standard wrap. I'm getting great vapor but the taste is very dry. I'm gonna fiddle with it tonight but if I can't get it sorted out, its back to eko I guess.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that my throat is fairly sore today. Either the cotton setup caused it or its causing the cotton to taste dry... I'm not sure yet.

That's the M-Tank isn't it? Not sure if they officially call it the M-Tank by name.

I should have ordered that from Mother Russia when I placed an order for a spare tank and gaskets. Sure looks sexy.

Is the installation difficult? Does it leak? 100% Compatible?

Also isn't the Kayfun Lite suppose to come with a all-in-one keychain tool for rebuilding?

I just tried the micro coil/cotton ball wick setup myself. Working perfectly first try...that seriously never happens for me! ;)

I just copied it exactly as vapdivrr did in his vid except I used 28awg and 6.5 wraps, came out to .8 ohm and is wicking perfectly so far.

Yeah, unless you ordered from VapeRev and got screwed like the rest of us. VR claims the spare parts and mini screwdriver were removed in order to save money. They must have meant that it saves THEM money because if I recall, they charge the customer MORE.

No, it doesn't.*
It's 'only' InTaste which is going that extra mile. And selling it way cheaper too. And sending it via DHL express @ less than $12 shipping. And has one of the best CS. And... well, they are good!

*I've checked with SM - it's sent just the sealed K-Lite pack with a M-Clear-Tank inside.

FWIW Digital Steam also sent the keychain and the extra o-rings and screws.

Yes Sir, for $250 for the Mod alone it better be :)

I just sold a mod for almost a grand. I was lucky enough to get a caravela some time ago, the funny thing was I hardly ever used it because I just didn't like the button. just like the button on your mod I just always thought it was a pain to screw and unscrew it every time you vape. I know that when its out and you set the mod down the spring is taut enough to hold the mod but one time it did depress the button and the mod fired, from then on I always locked the button everytime I set it down, that got to be a hassle. anyways I made about 700 on the deal. caravela prices are crazy.

I love my mesh wick geny set ups on my mechanicals. I just don't find the sub ohm set ups to be necessary with anything using soft wicks, like cotton, ekowool, or silica.

its true, a standard res coil on a micro does kind of feel like a sub-1 coil on a genny. but as you know rule I have always thought that a thicker wire has a better flavor, maybe its just in my head, but I always felt that as the gauge decreases the flavor increases. now when I was doing the ceramic wicks I got into the 26 & 27g wires, and these even had better flavor then the 28g. when I went to the micro's I did try a standard res coil with 30g and it did seem true, this coil seemed to equal a sub-1 coil on a genny. but because im always tinkering, I had to try the thicker gauges, and when I did, there was no going back. I did even try the 26g at standard resistances on the micro's, way to many wraps.

I just wanted to chime in on this.

@vapdivrr: Thank you for your videos. I think seeing how it's built and how it performs is much more effective than reading anecdotal posts.

I have almost totally switched to microcoils and cotton (even with gennies), except my current silica setup on the KFL, which soon will be cotton as well.

Interestingly: My Dream BT804 (heavily inspired from Kayfun) with its 30g 1.6ohm microcoil + cotton vapes better than the KFL with the silica.

A recap of the many +ve's I see with microcoil+cotton:

- Much more efficient: Normally a ~10Watt vaper, I don't go above 7-8 watts with micro+cotton. The uniformly heated surface area of the microcoil seems to be very effective. I get more battery life per charge
- Cotton is tasty: I think it is a very good wicking material, as long as you don't burn it
- Compared to SS mesh: The juice stays fresh. SS mesh/wire heat up the juice and deteriorates it. I no longer use my 'trash bottle' that I used to collect bad juice from gennies
- Replacement: Once you set a coil, it is very easy to replace the cotton. And for minimal cost.
- Healthier(?): though without any scientific data to support, I see less potential risk with cotton than with SS mesh or silica

Simply great!. I expect microcoils to be the norm in vaping. :)

Note: For genesis, I use mesh/rope inside the tank up to the deck, where it meets the cotton that goes through the wick.

definitely great points on the micro coils. and I totally agree that they will become the standard. and no doubt that I feel that the cotton is the safest wick around. on the other hand silica, which is like fiberglass, not to sure?

that's funny because one of the effects of silica for me is a scratchy throat. anyways everyone is different, with different tastes, and the micro probably isn't for everyone, it hits hard and fast with more heat and flavor, so its something that you may not be used to. maybe try to reduce the wattage, it maybe just to strong for you.

I'm finding that I'm having to go lower wattage with the KFL with a micro coil and cotton. Fixing the bad loop in my coil worked but it still doesn't want to play with my roller. 8 watts is the sweet spot for me with the particular juice I have in it. That's fine though as I've reserved the roller for genesis/mesh anyway. I just installed a micro coil with cotton in my speroid and it's working great so far.

On a side note.. after not being able to see the bad loop in my coil yesterday (until I saw if magnified in a pic)... I rummaged through my glasses box and found a pair of high powered reading glasses and that really made a difference in the ease of wrapping coils and getting proper coil to wick contact. It helps to be able to actually see what I'm doing LOL

Very noob question... I'm looking to get a KFL, and just wondering what gauge kanthal wire I would need when going with a micro coil and cotton setup? I only have a zmax v3 so I should be looking at 1.5 - 2 ohm? Thanks.

I'm using 30g with 8 or 9 wraps :) Here's where I got mine. You can get longer lengths if you want for not much more. Or different sizes. I also have and use 28g
