What do people use for cotton wicks? I have been using SS Mesh and Silica/Ekowool for so long and never tried cotton. I'd be interested to try since the KFL seems to really thrive with a Mech mod, micro coil and a cotton wick.

If it doesn't say "100% Cotton", don't use it - it probably has latex or some other unvapeable nastiness in it.

If it doesn't say "Sterile" you can boil it if you want, but it isn't a big deal.

Do you have to set the wick counter clockwise for best vape and flavor? I find it easier going clockwise when screwing the coil on.

Here is the coil that is currently in mine. It's isn't diagonal but straight across. It's working perfect. The coil I had before that was diagonal and it worked fine also.

The counter clock wise method, helps keep the micro coils from distorting. It's all up to how well "you" want the build.
I have a 3rd LITE + extension tube sitting in a box. I hope to put a micro coil in it tonight. I will take pictures, when i do set it up.

I set my coil this way o\o looking down from the top. Not this way o/o. The reason is that the first way helps keep the cotton wick from bunching up when the chimney is screwed on.

donnah, what gauge are you using for the micro coil?

28g It's metering out to 1.2Ω I just watched part of pbusardo's russian review. His coil is 1.2Ω and says that he is have to use it on a dna mod because the coil is too low for the Provari. WHT? That's what I'm using mine on.

He is also saying that although he's very pleased with it.. he's getting a "dry" vape. He's using a standard coil with silica. He needs to give micro coils with cotton a try.

Did anyone in the US who ordered their KFL from intaste.de last sunday get an estimated day when they will be shipping? This sucks. Was hoping to at least get it this week. I might give cloud9vaping a look instead of intaste.de next time. Dumb export laws!!!

I just received a notification early this morning and should be here Monday.

I bought a box of USP Rolled Cotton from CVS a while back. WILL. LAST. FOREVER.

CVS Rolled Cotton - CVS pharmacy

I bought the cotton balls but I guess it doesn't matter really. 130 cotton balls should last for a couple years and at $3, the total cost is something like 12 cents a month. No brainer!. I didn't see the rolled cotton at my CVS... hell, they only had 2 boxes of the cotton balls. Either there are a lot of micro vapers in my small town or I should hit up a bigger CVS.

Yeah. Pretty much the same thing. While the rolled cotton will last longer, it really doesn't matter when you're talking a dime a month. LOL.

I'm glad you guys are getting yours. This just plain blows. Guess I'm one of the unlucky ones that will get it later then.

Cheer up... the KFL I ordered from InTaste last month never arrived. For all I know, someone at German customs is playing with it as we speak. InTaste wouldn't even send out a new one or transfer my order -- they instead waited a week before notifying anyone, cancelled my order without notice, and told me to order it again a few days later... even when I told them I'd wait it out. I'm always surprised to hear stories about how InTaste goes out of their way to make customers happy... where was that service last month? I even recall one forum member getting an email response where the customer service rep dropped the f-bomb a few times. My subsequent order from VapeRev went little better.

    That's unlucky my friend.

I just got my Kayfun. When you build it, are you supposed to cut off the excess wick and only leave the loops? Thats what I did and I hope it doesn't cause any leaking. I'm also not getting a ton of flavor out of this. It seems a bit airy. Not nearly as good as my Ithaka. Also, how well does this work with dual coils?

If you look at the coil in the top picture, it's wrapped by starting in front and wrapping away at the top and coming back toward you at the bottom.

Donna's coil is made the opposite. It starts behind and wraps toward you at the top and away at the bottom. By doing it Donna's way you can wrap the wick clockwise and still keep it snugged up to the legs of the coil, even if it's mounted diagonal.

It'll work either way, but I prefer it Donna's way, although I do mount my coil diagonal and very close to the air hole.

I hope it ok for me to post here as I don't have the kfl, only the lowly 804, but it builds the same way and I just wanted to share that bit of information. :vapor:

As much as I'd like to say that I had a precise method and meaning behind my build... I just got it on there the best I could LOL. There's nothing at all lowly about what you use as long as you enjoy it!

I ordered one from intaste last Sunday, and received it today. I ordered from Cloud9 on 7/29, and also received today. The difference: UPS 4 days. Royal Mail/USPS 1 1/2 weeks. Both suppliers include a spare o ring pack. Intaste also includes a nifty little screwdriver. Vaperev, on the other hand, supplies neither.
