Actually it is good to know that nobody else has this problem, because that means that there is a chance I could get it fixed, and an even better chance that the second one I have coming, won't do this. Would you go straight to the source with an email, or contact the supplier? As of now, I can deal with it, but it seems to be getting worst, like the pin is getting mashed in, but I'm not screwing it on tightly at all. My guess is it is something moving or out of wack up top, in the chamber, where the pin is threaded.

It's frustrating enough when, just another device, is having problems, but it is agony when it is with my unicorn vape setup. Between this kayfun and my amp tank with a few hh357s, I think I've found the best I'm gonna find for a long time. Guess what the only other device I had problems with was. Yup the amp tank. It went to Hanna for a few days, then I had to send it to Cisco for two months. Don't get me wrong though, those guys rock, and so does the tank. But jeez, why couldn't it be the evods and vivi Novas that have issues? Thanks for the reply. At least i'm vaping the kayfun. I probably won't push the issue if it doesn't get worst.

sounds like your center post is just a smidge short. you can remove it and reassemble later. I would try taking it out and heading to the hardware store to try to find a longer one and then cut the replacement screw down to the desired size with a wiz wheel. Just make sure the replacement is a good conductor. You might try emailing SM directly. I am sure they will send you a replacement but itll probably take a month or so

You can try and slightly lossen the connection pin 1st I know others have said you can't bs just a little and make sure top connectors stay snug is all. The factory probably over tightened it anyways. I did it with 2 of the 4 I have know issues only very small turns at a time. I had a spheroid that would not fire wright had to loosen the positive connection on it to tight from manufacture it happens.

Thanks, that is awesome. Stainless steel isn't as good of a conductor as other metals. Does this pin contact juice in the chamber? Could i use brass or something? I'll be able to figure that out when i take it apart, once I finish this tank, just thinking aloud. Thanks again.

I was thinking that also. I'll take it apart once i finish this Bavarian Cream. Also, I ordered lower nic juice, because everyone says to reduce nic with a kayfun. But, I came from an HH357 and do not notice that it is any stronger in a kayfun. It is stronger than a carto, to be sure, but not a dripper, in my opinion. This thing rocks.

I use the kayfun lite on two different provaris and it should work perfectly. Check the center pin in the 510 connection. If memory serves, it can be unscrewed and removed or adjusted to be flush. Sorry I don't have any specific instructions for you but I'd start by taking it apart and looking at it. It should fit nicely on any provari.

Next time one of my tanks runs dry, I'll take a look at it to see if I can be more helpful.
Awesome, thanks. I actually made a coil last night where the wicks did not even touch the juice channels, just got close to them, about 2mm away. This is wicking way better, and not leaking at all. How is that possible? Just a rhetorical question and off topic. But thanks for the help.

Just thinking out loud... if the center pin is too short for the 510 connection, maybe you could find a washer that could fit on that pin. It would need to fit snug on the pin and small enough to make sure it wouldn't touch the inner wall of the connector, so it doesn't shot out.
Would I solder the washer on? It would have to be perfectly center and small. Thanks.

Yes, you could shim it. make sure it does not short out.
1g is the Air duct
1k is an insulator
in the KL User manual, a very good source of information.
I had knee surgery 2 days back, so I have free time. My am choices are here..

Have a great day.
I'm certainly reading the manual, but I wish they showed a picture of a complete disassembly. I couldn't find a youtube video that shows it either, but i guess I will find out. I tried to lightly to unscrew the center pin, but it was so darn tight that it marred the connection slightly. I'll get a larger screwdriver and try it again. Thanks.

should i order a kayfun lite?? im tempted.. very tempted

It was a tough decision for me being budget minded but I pulled the trigger anyway. All I can say is, it's my go to vape and love it filled with my favorite juice. My Sigelei 8w with my dripper breaks up the monotony from time to time.

The first part shows how it goes together. Looks like there would be very little between ID and OD to put a washer on the center pin :(

The CG is pretty amazing.... especially for a mod builder !!!!

I notice that whatever type of build I make, the coil needs to sit very close to the air hole for it not to feel dry. When its at the right distance, its just perfect. To me it seems the micro coil is more sensitive to this distance. Maybe give this a shot.

best advice i've taken from this thread. I tried everything, but just couldn't get past a slight burnt taste/hit. tried every set up on here. lowered the coil to just above the airhole and completely solved the problem. for those getting dry hits, try this. everything else might be set up just fine. Night and day difference!! thank you for the tip.

Would you be able to quantify the gap distance between the coil and air hole on your setup? Might it be smaller be than what vapdivrr and I have on ours?

yeah, I think you would benefit from a bit of a coil drop. I leave the width of a flat head micro screwdriver (the ones sold for eye glass repair) on mine and could not be happier. I install the coil all the way down touching the airhole. after ive tightened it up to the posts, I slide the head of the screwdriver under the coil and give it a little wiggle. This will lift it just enough and tighten the coil just a bit.

My KFL impressions after a couple weeks with it -

Just for reference here are some of the RBAs I have owned -

Silica based:
GG Odysseus
GP Spheroid
GG Ithaka
Protank
Vivi Nova
Evod

Genesis based:
Z Atty Pro
Zenesis
RSST
AGA-T
AGA-S
Line SS
DID (the current king of vapor and flavor in my arsenal)

Drippers:
Various Igos (s,l,w)
Nimbus

Setup - the one thing I absolutely love about the KFL over the GG style silica based attys is the ease of setup. I'd say the Spheroid is just as easy but with less juice capacity of course.

Flavor - I find it performs much better with fruity flavors than with tobacco flavors in this regard. My 2 go-to tobacco flavors are quite muted in the KFL...this makes me sad. :(

Vapor - not as much as a dripper or a genny (esp. the DID) but the KFL produces an acceptable amount of vapor.

Throat Hit - the throat hit from the KFL for me is much drier than any other RBA I've tried....not sure why this is but no matter the juice, I get a dry scratchy throat after vaping the KFL (same with silica or cotton wick). I get this same dry throat from all silica based attys, but the KFL is to a higher degree. Gennys do not do this to me.

Juice Feed - seems to be hit-and-miss. I'll have a tank that wicks perfectly from beginning to end, then the next tank I'm constantly priming....dunno what's going on there.

Filling - kind of a hassle because you have to have a philips screwdriver nearby and a needle tip bottle, but doesn't really bother me since I don't fill when out and about.

Drip tip - the included drip tip doesn't work as well for me as a wider bore tip does, I get more vapor with the wider bore tips.

Construction - this thing is built like a tank, no complaints there.

After living with it for awhile, I think the KFL is just not for me. My DID (my all day atty) just works better, and for out-and-about I use an Ego twist + Evod which actually provides better VTF than the KFL, IMO.

My .02 cents.
