Thanks, that is awesome. Stainless steel isn't as good of a conductor as other metals. Does this pin contact juice in the chamber? Could i use brass or something? I'll be able to figure that out when i take it apart, once I finish this tank, just thinking aloud. Thanks again.

If you can find it in brass, you could totally use it without fear of juice contamination. That post never contacts juice as it passes through a Delrin insulator on the bottom of the positive post in the chamber. It would actually be an upgrade to the original, even in a non problematic unit. You'll probably have to buy a screw that is too long and cut it down. You are going to need to be precise when you cut it to avoid burring up the threads that screw into the positive portion of the deck. A tiny little super thin wiz wheel on a dremel would be ideal. Let us know if you try this as I would consider performing this upgrade on my unit

If you guys are getting leaks from the airhole, you dont have a proper seal in the atty. Either the components are not tight enough or an oring is outta place. A likely offending part is the o-ring that seals the chimney to the topcap. The oring should be sitting nicely in a recessed space in the topcap when you assemble and before you slide the chimney into the topcap hole.

My KL did not have the o-ring you speak of on the chimney. Is it provided in the spare parts bag that you have to install yourself? Either way, I screwed that chimney pretty tight and so far my KL is vaping like a DREAM!

Instead of stuffing braided/twisted silica into the juice intake area, i frayed/unravel the ends of the silica so it has strands going everywhere. fray all of it till the coil. kind of how cotton wicks look. since the silica strands are all spread out, it has room to "breath" and wicks MUCH faster than braided/twisted silica and holds more juice. solved my gurgling and leak problems. hope that helps!

Kayfun Lite User Manual.

Kayfun Lite - User Manual (English)

The o-ring I am talking about goes in the topcap

In the pic, 4c shows the o-ring in the topcap:

maybe a renued interest? now we have custom sizes gdeal? is this bodens recipe?

With a little patience, you can carve this material anyway you want. Not sure if its bodens recipe, but looks and vapes the same. Works great in the kayfun lite and vapes very similar to cotton micro-coils.

The vape texture is a bit different due to how the ejuice get vaporized off the wick. Cotton is a bit "wetter", Ceramic is a bit "fuller" Both have excellent taste. Ceramic is slightly more pure, and cotton has a slighty softer note. Ceramic wins for durability. Just a dryburn and a rinse once a week. But then again micro-coil cotton wick change-out are simple. One thing I do like is that I dont need to take the kayfun apart as much. Less fiddle, more vape time.

Choice is what makes the world go around but I find the exact opposite as you. I get good flavor from my tobacco juice. I don't vape anything but tobacco juice and the craziest I get is RY4..

I get plumes of vapor.. So much so, that at times it's too much as I don't want a fog machine..

I get mega throat hit and I have found that the KFL is a nicotine delivery machine. I, along with many others, have to go down to a lower nic level with the KFL.. When I drip, I use 18mg but when I use the KFL I bump it down to 12mg..

Juice feed is highly dependent on the build. I have had good builds and bad builds. The juice flow is VERY dependent on how good or bad the coil and wick build is..

For reference I have had the following and I find that the KFL is hands down my go to RBA with large tank.

Ithaka
Z Atty Pro
Kayfun Lite
Diver
Grail
Cyclone
Immortalizer

And a few others that I am sure I am forgetting..

The KFL is an awesome RBA but it is very, very, very dependent on the coil and wick build.. Get that right and it's vaping bliss...

I totally agree.

I sure will do that. My neighbor is a custom jeweler with all the tools, so I'll have him do it. I will certainly post it. It may take me a little bit of time. Finding brass will be harder I'm sure. Before I do it, I'll measure the resistance of the kayfun lite, with no coil, before I put the brass pin in, then I'll check it afterwards. I'll check the resistance of the two pins by themselves as well. Thanks.

With my leaks it just confuses me on how it happens because sometimes ill be able to go through more than half the tank, then it'll start gurgling and leaking. I'm sure I've wasted a lot of juice cuz of this. Sometimes ill set my kayfun standing straight up then 30 minutes later, I pick it up and have juice on my hand. Again, a slow leak coming from the air hole and always baffles me when it was working perfectly allllllllll day. I have noticed that when my cotton gets wet and puffs up, ill start to leak. I make a new cotton wick with a lot less cotton. Again, perfect for a good amount of time, then it leaks.

I've also done the "super 8" and made sure the wick was barely touching the channel and that it wasn't blocking it, vapes great for a bit and then leaks again.

I do make sure that everything is tight and that the o ring on the chimney is sitting properly on the top cap. I also make sure that the coil isn't touching the middle air hole inside.

Seriously out of ideas.

OK.... I'm ......! Filling up my KL just now and the screw driver slipped and the screw vanished into the ethers. @#$%#%&^*$(*($&@$^@#%@#$%#$%&^(*)^*)(&*#%^&@$$%!@#%@#%&%&*(^*( IT!!!

Can anyone give a link to where I can order and new screw? So upset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess you didn't get it from Intaste. From there it comes with little screwdriver, extra fill hole screws, and extra orings.

after a day with the KL it is the perfect vape that i was chasing. the airy-but-tight draw is perfect. i have to give credit to myself the coils are as perfect as i can make it. had some major air hole leakage and that was expected for the first build. third build's a charm eh? the flavor is unlike anything i've ever tried. its warm, smooth, and intense. the long narrow "chimney" the vapor has to travel through creates an extremely smooooooth vapor. drippers are "hard"/"spikey"/bright. gennys are full/warm/low. i vape 6mg so the TH is light until i take long lung hits. the stock drip tip perfectly matches and is at least 50% responsible for that full flavored vape since it concentrates the vapor to a narrow stream.

i've read so many great things about the KL and it lives up to the hype. its pricey but worth it. you cant replicate this kind of flavor experience w/o this kind of design. i've had drippers (28g/micros/12wrap) with micros and i thought that was silky smooth flavor. then i had genesis and that brought out even more flavor (ribbon/un-torched ss mesh/3wrap). i arrive at a new peak of flavor. kayfun/.8ohms/28g/eko-wool. hard to top this amazing little rba.

i know this baby can run dual coils as well. love this thing!

Just got a Kayfun lite about a week ago. It ran great with a micro-coil with cotton. But I have been playing with ceramic wicks lately and thought I would give it a go for this atty. It took a bit of work, but I pull together a custom fit porous white ceramic wick. Thought I'd share it with you guys.

Its has 28g hot wrapped .9Ω coil. The coil ID is ~2.5mm so its not quite a micro. Fits perfectly in the atty chamber. Vape is outstanding.

Care to make a few and sell them to me??? :)

lol...sorry...no sales by me. They would prolly be very expensive anyway being that they are made by hand and precision needed to fit the kayfun dimensions is very tight.

so i'm going to take a guess here. that pic above shows FC-2000 thats been soaked or something and then shaped? i asked before what the scoop is but no one has replied ;) someone please enlighten me...

Its not FC2000, it white aluminum oxide, cut/carved w/dremel diamond bits and then cleaned a couple different ways. See: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/362182-next-big-thing-porous-ceramic-wicks.html. BTW I posted this yesterday for lando80

Yeah, I think the KFL just provides too much throat hit for my tastes.

Believe me, I have been through about a dozen or more setups in the KFL and I believe I "got it right"....I keep thinking I must be doing something wrong when I read all the glowing reviews here, I'm fairly certain I'm not. Like you said, choice is what makes the world go round. :)

Don't get me wrong, the KFL is a very very nice atomizer - but for the money, I expected more. When my Evod can provide pretty much the same vapor and flavor, something just ain't right. ;)

Ok y'all....with all the great suggestions since I posted my disappointment with the KFL, I'm gonna renew my efforts and see if I can't get this machine to work better for me....will report back! :)
