lets see if this is it. the only difference to my newer design is my new wick is cut above, where they connect, and the top tail is feed also. so each coil now has 2 wick tails into each side of the juice well.

I wanted to post a few pics of a wick set-up. I even went back to a post 100 pages ago where I knew I had them, my post is there but the photo's are gone. whats going on? when I try to upload I get an error message.
I up load my photos to Facebook and link to them other than that I don't use Facebook, my KFL arrives tomorrow.hey im now a buckethead. that was my 28g build which was good for the experiment, I know have incorporated my 26g mech build into my current build
hey buddy still haven't done facebook yet, but might just for photos. like you said its good for thatI up load my photos to Facebook and link to them other than that I don't use Facebook, my KFL arrives tomorrow
My thoughts exactly. I've thought about taking a dremel to mine......
Before you take a dremel and maybe ruin it.. back off the chamber a tiny bit. That's what I did on my last build, I screwed the chamber down snug then I backed it off a half turn or so. This build has wicked perfectly.
Thought I'd share a great micro coil/cotton wick building tutorial for some who might be still having troubles. The best part , really, is showing the size of the cotton wick...I build mine just like this, I made my jig out of wood. Really just wanted to point out the cotton wick section and size. Kudos to Superx
Anyways, its a great shot of building the coil and the proper cotton size, just install yours on the KFL instead of the RM2 he's using.
AALWANI/looks like a mini kayfun? well here is one of the photos I was looking for, just not sure how your wick looked like before saturation.URL=http://s1360.photobucket.com/user/divrr033/media/wick3_zpsba28ba28.jpg.html][/URL]![]()

divr, thanks for the pic. Yeah it is a mini, forgot to mention that. Well mine looked similar to a high extent, but one side was fuller that the other. When you are running yours at 20W with 26ga I wonder if that brings it to the temperature of a 28ga at 12W. To get an idea, when i am having he leak and put my lips on the base to blow into the hole, i get burnt. So it is rather running too hot. But with the mini well I am not enjoying it at 9 watts. Well 28ga is all what i have right now. I will try to make thicker tails and maybe make the draw more airy. Let us see if i can hit that sweet spot. The coil is perfect for me I don't want to rebuild it. No hot legs and all coils touching well. Feel free to comment guys.
I hated to take apart a really good working build but I really wanted to try a vertical coil centered over the air inlet so I did, first try was with rene 41 wire and a NR long leg made from .030 304SS tig wire, not so good really, I wanted to reach up to ~3 ohms, took way too much wire and I ended up with this
it kind of worked but took waay to long to heat up and didn't seem to be going anywhere. I wicked it and tried it a bit anyway, but still just not so good. I think I'd be wasting half of my batteries power on just the heat ups
I wasted a lot of time to get poor results and I needed to try again to have a working build for tomorrow so I redid it with ribbon, didn't have the time to play with the NR again so I just did ribbon all the way to see if it works well enough to bother redoing it later with a nr leg. it actually works ok even with the one long leg, not ideal but enough to test the theory I guess
here you can see that it's a straight through path, right to the air inlet which you can see at the bottom of the coil
so far it seems pretty good. I made the mistake of trying some juice I just got and wasn't till after I filled the tank and vaped it that I realized this juice really needs to steep a bit, not so pleasant, so I swapped it out for my regular juice, too lazy now to rewick it so I'm working on just getting past the juice I tried with it with the same wick at this point, a bit too early for me to say too much but so far it seems to def have hope, vaping pretty well so far as it breaks in. this ribbon comes in at 2.9 ohms, at 6v it's around the 12 watt or so range but the straight through design seems to be a bit of a hotter vape than others I've tried in this same power range in the kayfun, going to live with it for a day or so and see where it goes but it def seems like it has potential, hard to judge until I get past that bad juice taste, maybe I'll rewick it in the morning if it doesn't work itself out... supposed to be peach but right now it tastes like a sour grapefruitgood flavor is coming back though as I vape it while typing this. one thing I can say so far though is if you like a very warm vape this straight through design def brings a lot of warmth compared to any normal horizontal coils I've tried. it is getting better and better, and really no spitting at all from it so far, very very warm hits
that's actually the video that is just the mounting of the coil. this is the actual build video. sorry about the stupid music, its a long story. micro coil on the kayfun lite - YouTube^
Next, I use Vapdivr's excellent video on installing the coil to the KFL....
