Because the center pin is a tube, which fits inside another, larger tube. The larger tube is actually a part of the machined base section, which has a hole to the outside of the base.

I get that. My point is, could the air flow be controlled by rotating the inner post so it does not line up exactly to the hole in the machined base?

Great! Let us know how it works out for you. Here it was without the cylinder on...

I like the looks and position of this coil. I'm going to try this. :)

So vape quality wise, mini > lite? Is the mini harder to build than the lite?

The Mini is a bit warmer and "immediate" if that makes any sense. They are very similar otherwise. Part of my observation is certainly due to a cooler build on my Lite vs Mini. I did 10 micro wraps of 28g kanthal on the Lite @ about 1.2Ω, and 7 micro wraps of 28g on the Mini @ about 0.8Ω. Both are 1/16" cotton. I plan to rebuild the Lite with 7 wraps next time around. I think it will still be a bit cooler than the mini. I really like them both a lot.

Nope
The 3.1 has a screw that closes off or opens the airway. The only draw adjustment on the lite is too much wick and it blocks the airway.
The 3.1 with the air screw fully open and the lite without too much wick stuffed in the vapor chamber is about the same.If anything, the Klite might just be a tiny bit airier, but that might be my imagination

I don't have a KFL, but my assumption is that there is a gap in the base all the way around the center pin at the air hole location. That way it wouldn't matter if the hole in the center pin was lined up or not. But I'm just guessing :D

the k mini is harder to build simply due to the deck space limitation, smaller screws, etc...
they both vape incredibly well....the k mini is also cool in having true airflow adjustment....
it is a major pita to use ribbon (which i prefer) on the k-mini...its a minor pita on the k lite lol
they are both incredible tanks!

I think you are right :)
I also think that it is impossible to make a few thousand KFL's which have the exact same threads on the positive pin screw and the positive part of the deck, so that the hole in it would line up perfectly with the air intake hole... Buuut, I could also be wrong ;)

Anyone know how long cloud9 shipping takes to the east coast of USA? No tracking number with my order.

I ordered a KFL from C9V and had it at my door in a week. I believe it was closer to five days really. A lot faster than I expected. I'm under the Great Lakes for reference.

I called fedex and they said it was just listed as "metal parts" and that wasn't enough description for them to classify it, so they had it on hold until further classification, I told the guy that I am the importer and I would be able to verify a further classification, after confirming I was the recipient I told him that "they are metal parts for a high powered flashlight, a highly focused high power flashlight. make sure you put that down, highly focused..." :) an hour later fedex shows the shipment cleared and is back in transit to me :)

I didn't receive my new full sized kayfun but I did receive a new mod that I was waiting for, and since I wasn't able to play with my new kayfun I decided to play with the mini. my new mod is vv/vw so I am now able to play a little more with lower resistance so I decided to build another vertical coil, this time a true micro, and this time I built it at 1.5 ohms, 28 ga kanthal

this one is a bit more aggressive than what I usually build, and now this thing at 15w is far from a stealthy vape. man does it kick nice though... not quite as warm as the long ribbon vertical I did, but much more vapor, too bad the new mod only goes up to 15w because it seems like it could take even more, at 15w it's very flavorful and sweet. I took another quick clip to show the vape on this, this one is a steam machine :)

click the pic for the video, this is just a 2 second and 3 second toot
