The only time I get it to taste the way I'd like is if I flood the chamber. But to flood the chamber when I cover the air hole I have to suck like I'm sucking a gold ball thru a garden hose, it shouldn't be that hard to flood it? I wonder if my wicks blocking the juice channel. I got the wick wet and placed it against the inner wall, maybe it moved.

You're not alone. Mine wicks well sometimes but most of the time, I have to manually feed it, meaning I have to cover the air hole and do the garden hose suck. My builds are identical to those that are saying they get no dry hits. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when it will wick and when it won't. My last build... it wicked perfectly for two day and then when I refilled it the third day.. bamm! it was back to manualy feeding it.
Even with it's quirks.. it's still worth it to me. I figure it's no worse than having to squonk a Reo. I changed my wick tonight and it seemed that I barely used any cotton at all. I didn't twist it and it slide through the coil easily (but fully). The tails barely go half the length of the deck on either side and the juice channels are NOT blocked at all. I've just learned to live with it. Maybe some day I'll do something and be like "OMG! so that was what I was doing wrong all along!"
Also, if I leave mine sitting for a length of time, like over night, it is usually dry when I pick it up and vape it. After refilling, it's always dry. It does get frustrating because with everything else I have, I can take the cap off and quickly see what the problem is but with this, I can't just take a look without dumping the juice and taking it apart.
Something I have managed to figure out... when you take it apart and rinse it off.. make sure you blow the water out of the air hole. I didn't do that last time and it took at least half and hour to get any vapor because the air passage had water in it.
