Say Vapdivrr, I watched your micro-coil rebuild on your AC9 and was a bit inspired. So I pulled my AGA-T+ out of the bottom of my junk box and decided to try it the way you did it. It fires up fine except when I put the cover back on. No idea why. There is plenty of space on that AGA cover. No wires sticking out funny. Coil is comfortably inside the wall of the cover. No apparent interference with anything, etc.. Pull the cover off...no problems. Put the cover on...nothing. Has this ever happened to you?

As you have probably figured out by now, I'm not a big fan of Genesis. Too finicky. And this is why I say the kayfun blows Genesis out of the water. At least in my world. I've done nothing but fuss with that Genny. I have better things to do with my time than to wrestle with attys. And yes, I've rebuilt many attys in my time and didn't fall off a turnip truck. I'd think there was something wrong with me if I didn't hear the "finicky" accusation used by many toward their AGA's.

LOL.. I find my kfl way more finicky than my mesh genesis'. If I didn't have to always be aware of their positioning (keeping upright) that's probably all I'd use. I'm still getting the hang of how much cotton to use and it's placement.

I noticed pbusardo just posted some comments and pics on micros and cotton. He's using a Russian but the concept is the same. I see he's using way WAY more cotton than I've been using. I also think he's using a bit larger drill bit to wrap his coils. I'm using a 1/16" bit.

In an hour, I'm leaving on a wkend road trip (to Va Beach) with some friends who don't vape (or smoke) and I'm not looking forward to it. All I want to do is sit here and play with my coils and wicks LOL. I was a closet smoker and kind of a closet vaper. I'm not very open about it. They all know (except one who is a surgeon and would probably beat me over the head) that I used to smoke and now I use "electronic cigarettes" but I'm still self conscious about vaping in front of people who aren't "like minded"

My understanding is the RSST is a whole lot more user friendly than the AGA's. It can't be worse. Perhaps the AC9's are better than the AGA's too. :)

I tore everything apart on my AGA and started from the beginning using Vapdivrr's method again. At least it's not shorting out now. Just vaping off it now so need more time to figure out if this is any better than my ss wicks on the Genny's and how much tilt/twirling I have to do. I never had any trouble rebuilding the AGA with ss wick but I could never hold the resistance on the thing. It would start at 1.1 and work its way up to 1.8/9 within two tanks. Didn't matter what I did or how many times I rebuilt it. Drove me freaking nuts!!!! The Kayfun has no such problems for me. It's a God Send!

See..I'm already getting dry hits (yes I left off the other screw). There are just some combinations of vaper/devices that simply do not work. Time for me to file for a divorce from Genny. :)

I never got an aga. I have 2 dids and a rsst. The rsst is way easier to set up than the dids but I still love my dids. You're only an hour or so away from me ( I live in New London) so if you ever want to get together and I'll be happy to try to help. I never get dry or burnt hits off my mesh wicked genesis'.. well I do, but it's my fault for holding it wrong. Yes, they can be a pain due to positioning but the gain far outweighs the pain for me.

Here are my 2 current favorites.

PS.. your resistance climbs because the top nut on your pos post gets loose.

The AC9 and the RSST are nearly identical, except the RSST has insulating around the wick hole. This eliminates shorts. In the end, I don't really find it easier to build. I never get shorts in the AC9 ;)

I don't think they are that close, there is at least twice the amount of steel in the ac9. I've owned both, sold the ac9. just my opinion of course

also, sorry about the vid, wrong thread.

You shouldn't be getting any juice in your mouth, even with the stock drip tip.

Not juice. Just the tiny pinpricks from spitting/popping.

I can go back and forth between the stock tip and the wide bore tip - same wick / coil / build /juice - just swapping tips. With the stock tip I feel the pin ......, with the wide bore I don't.

Nice gigs donnah. Not sure the pink Provari would be my style though. :D

I know people who have both RSST's and DIDs and they like them very much. I also know many people who own AGAs and nearly everyone complains about them. Maybe it's just the world I live in. I've had enough of my AGA-T+ and will put it on the classies (probably). I'll put the proceeds toward 1/4 of a Kayfun Lite. :)

BTW, I did secure the top nut and it didn't make any difference. That was one of the first things I did. What happens is the ss wick gets gunked up and my resistance would go up too. I'd clean/dryburn and the resistance would go back down again. Never had this issue with any other device but the AGA.

I have two aga-t2's and two rsst's and I prefer the vape of the aga over the rsst. It may be all in my head, but I contribute the difference to the tinfoil thin cap on the rsst. I use ceramic in the gennys so shorting isn't a problem.

I contribute the difference to the fact that there are just some people who ought not live together. Genny and me just don't hit it off and since I got this Kayfun I have no interest in trying to make things better with Genny. :)

I'm in the same camp. In fact, my RSST tends to leak from odd places - and tastes somewhat muted, perhaps plasticy. I might be able to replace the tank o-rings to stop the leaks, but I've never had a problem with AGAs. I guess I'm also lucky in that I haven't had any problems building coils/wicks on either device.

ROAD TRIP!!! I am way behind on my tinkering, but will be happy to leave it behind on our road trip to the Keys next month. Have a great time and vape it 'til they like it. I haven't seen anybody get offended by the vapes - in the car, hotel, or anywhere.

I've had the same experience. I tried mesh, ceramic and wire rope and since discovering the Kayfun and micro coils my Gennies are sitting in a box collecting dust. Both my wife and I use Kayfun's, Kayfun conversion kits for my Term Cs, and drippers but no more gennies. I find I enjoy vaping more without the fussing and focus more on experimenting with juices and flavors rather than the gear. Well almost, I haver been eyeing the new Squape but fortunately VapRev was out of stock on them when I checked earlier today..

Kayfun Lite: First device that does not leave even a hint of juice anywhere outside of the tank. Not on the connector or the battery post/dripwell. Nowhere. Only time there is juice outside of the Kayfun is when I fill it because I'm a slob. Even then, I get lucky half the time.

Nice living without smoke juice all over my hands. Thank you Svomesto. :)

I've become quite the fan of the Kayfun Series. Just an outstanding device. I've spent a lot of hours with the KFL, but have recently acquired the 3.1. I enjoy them both. I do like the ease of filling in the 3.1; just poke and go ;). I haven't toy'd much with the adjustable air control; just tweeked it a little after receiving to see what the "blah" was all about. I will certainly purchase another I am sure, maybe a polished version..
