Yep. That's what friends are for, right?

Thanks for the fogger bump. I guess you got yours and like it? I did like mine and it is better made than I expected for an inexpensive piece. It was just that there is a fine line between a good vape and a dry vape and well... I just wasn't interested enough to keep playing with it right now. I knew it would end up just sitting here so I sold it to someone for a good price and get to meet him next week while on vacation.

My kfls are absolutely perfect in every way. But I've got 2 of them with a 91% on the way (sometime) and I'm wanting to do the Reo/RM2 thing also. I can always buy another fogger if I find I just can't live without it LOL.

I don't vape a wide variety of juices so I don't want too many of the same things sitting here.

I've never tried silica on my KF's. Not because one's better than another but I didn't have any on hand. I started off with qtips and any other cotton laying around the house and then finally remembered to buy some. I continue to use cotton because one little box of it is like a lifetime supply now. It performs well and have very little to complain about. That being said I may try silica or ekowool on my RDA. Cotton burns way too easy on the RDA going subohm on my Nemesis. So much so I am having to replace the cotton almost everyday. On my KF's I only replace once a week but probably can go longer. KF's are efficient little boogers....

And you gotta get your $1.49 worth out of them cotton balls! :)

Goodnight KFL mates. May blissful wicks and coils bring rapture to your dreams.

Nice trick! Maybe I'm old school, but the frazzeled wick ends produce more surface area and, in my mind, promote wicking. I'm sure there will be some propellerhead that comes up behind me and tears apart my theory. And he/she would probably be right. :)

I forgot to add that after pulling it threw, that they would trim the ends, after pulling the thing threw, and discard that thread. I don't really care what it looks like after that, as long as it wicks right, no one is going to see it anyway, unless you take a pic, and post it. :)

is that a dna-20 reo? more info please.

yea, I built the dna20 into my reo, I really like the dna20 module, seemed like a good idea and after building and using it I love it, works great with dual coils in the cyclone atty with adjustable airflow cap, between being able to adjust the wattage and the airflow I'm sure to be able to tune a great vape out of it. thread here if you want to check it out :)

I agree that the kayfun and the reo are both great and choosing between them would be very hard, even on the builds that tend to run a bit on the dry side in the kayfun, an extra little primer puff here and there is really no more work than squonking a bottle.

personally I find that the kayfun doesn't really need 20 watts with most builds, and for me anyway, I find that the kayfun has trouble keeping up with the wicking even more so when running it that high on most builds. I think I'm pretty happy even with the 15 watt limit of the semovar paired with the kayfun and sometimes even run it at less than the 15 watts. one way to richen up a drier running build is to lower the wattage a bit.

First time here. turbocad's post earlier about Reos 'n Kayfuns caught my eye. Very well put & nice to see you outside of Reoville! I've been using my VVG for 7 months and stretching my legs out to rebuildableland in the non-bottom juice feeding realm outside of Reoville and tried to score a new Kayfun lite but came to the party to late.

I believe the very first time I saw a kayfun it was on DustyD's provari flush-like which caught my attention but more and more I hear about them and their owners, who have up to 2-3 of 'em, been calling out to me.. find me, buy me, love me. Of course all this comes at a cost and I don't mean pricing, rather the technical expertise and as you say, patience & desire to find the best setup for you.

Well I wasn't able to score a kayfun last night but I did manage to get an order in over at Domo (Official Us distributor of VapourArt) for my first Mechanical mods ever; the GP Paps-X, SS Paps 2.5 , and an 22' GPSnP tank!

The Sophia 'n Kayfun Lite are next on the list. I'm gonna try some laser slotted Boges in the SnP 'til I can get a kayfun or something like a Diver or Sophia by LEO.

Thanks for putting up with my disjointed ramblings, folks!

Diver, I had a friend send me an RBA once awhile back (he visits this thread now and again). He "cleaned" it before he sent it to me but I still got a nasty taste from whatever juice he was using in it. I cleaned it three times myself and could not get it out. He told me to boil it.

It worked! The nasty taste was 100% gone. I've done it a few times since and it works. Just don't put the meltable parts in the water!!! Steel only. Not saying this is Digs problem, but it's something to try that isn't much effort.

Bronze,

Huge thanks to you and your suggestion.

I completely tore down the KF this morning(those things are detailed), and I boiled it for a few. Of course, I remembered to take the insulators/o-rings out :D

It worked! The KF is now pumping out huge, flavorful vapor.

I owe you one ;)

Micro coil with 9/10 twisted 32 wrap. I figured since I was doing a new type of coil, might as well go in for another first for me. A cotton wick! I've always

2.3 ohms of goodness at 4.3 volts on the Provari. Massive Vapor, and flavour is slowly picking up.

Cool Digs! Glad it worked for you and you shared your results for the rest of us to learn. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to boil our Kayfuns now and again as part of the cleaning routine. The bad taste probably sneaks up on us without us knowing.

Re-did the second KFL with the twisted 32 too. Went with a 7/8 wrap for 1.8ohms with 5mm silica. Cotton wick seems to be holding up well so far.

I do believe I will actually be able to use up the 200 feet or so of 32gauge wire that I have. :D
