lol....I hate autocad....but use Autodesk Inventor which is very similar to Solidworks

I've made it through AutoCad 2D only You have to tell it every little cottin' pickin' thing. AC 3D coming up in January. I'm 3/4 the way through SolidWorks and it feels like I died and went to heaven. It's awesome!

I was a Manufacturing Engineering Manager back in the 90's. I was responsible for all capital expenditures. At that time, I purchased a Pro-E package for our design engineers. That's when 3D first came out. They fought me for all they were worth as they were entrenched in AC 2D and did not want to change. Once I got them trained on Pro-E, they wanted nothing to do with AC 2D any longer. :)

No Stock... :(

I ordered my kfl from cloud 9.

It was the most beautifully packed peice of mail I've ever recieved.

I ordered on a sunday and I had it in hand on friday. I'm in Rhode Island/

Once it is in the us, it is sent registered mail so the person on the label usually has to sign for it.

im either going to have the best wicking k-lite around or a ruined one. I really like the idea of the wick tails being inserted down the sides of the aqua tank(which I recently purchased) so have decided to mod my k-lite to match. I have taken a 3/32 drill bit and am grooving a channel to accommodate the wick tails just like in the aqua. actually there is a slight vertical groove already in the k-lite, im just enlarging these. as you know these existing channels in the k-lite aren't for the wick tails but just for the juice to rise into. anyways I should have it done by tomorrow. I don't have a drill press so its slow going because you kind of need to just bore this channel by using the side of the drill bit, its working but its slow for sure. will let you know. so when its done the wick tails will come off the coil and straight down into the grooves and all the way down to the o-ring on base. so you will place the tails down this channel and then screw the chimney over these tails just like in the aqua tank. in the aqua there is a juice control that works fine when screwed all the way down, if you want more juice the control just makes the chimney thread up. so by following this design, I should be able to pre distance the k-lites chimney to a desired distance away from the base. my k-lite works perfectly at resistances above .8, but when I do below that I feel like it could use more juice, hopefully this will get me that. if not there will be a great deal on a k-lite in the classy's tomorrow.

@vapdivrr - From a visual inspection, in the stock KFL that I filled the grooves with wick, it looked like the the wick would be compressed by about 50-75%. (Of course this depends upon the ID of the coil and the size wick being used). I needed to thin my wick at the tail in grooves to make it fit.

So since the channels are only really in a half-moon shape, will a 3/32 bit do the job?. BTW Do you know the channel radius of the Aqua?

@turbocad6 - Did you post measurements yet?

I have a counterfeit 3.1 coming from FT.....I'm thinking I will try a 1/8" ball end end mill in the drill press to deepen the slot and groove :D

Received my kfl+ from vaperev today and i love it even more than the original. Fill hole is solid and I love the bigger screw, way easier to use. This thing ain't leaking a drop.

Can someone please help me out. Got my KFL+ and I'm getting subpar performance. Muted flavor and little vapor. This is a 1 ohm microcoil with cotton. Tried using less cotton/more cotton and still the same.

I'd suggest raising it a bit. 1.5-2mm or so. I'd also suggest reducing the coil from the ~2mm inner dia it looks like it is now, down to ~ 1.5mm or 1/16"

it actually is 1.5 mm. wrapped it on a 1/16 bit.

thanks guys! going to raise it. so if i raise it to 1.5 mm, i should be able to fit the drill bit underneath the coil?
