So you actually like the gurgling sound and recommend gurgling to indicate the wick is saturated enough?
I'm running a 1.6 ohm micro-could on an Opus D. I seem to have burning issues if I take it above 14 watts. Anyone else running a similar set-up? Anyone taking their wattage higher than that?

Nano tank is sweet....got mine from science of vaping

I think vapdivrr tried that but I don't remember what came of it. I would think it would impede the vapor. Seems easy enough to try though. I'll try it tomorrow or Monday.
YOU NAILED IT. thank you for responding.
i posted on page 136 about getting a sore throat with every build i made no matter how well it came out. my issue has been resolved by googling for hours and stumbling onto a thread about the airflow on kayfuns. i found that when i removed some material on my bottom insulator to get flush with the top of my mod, i had not re-aligned my center pin air hole with the exterior inlet hole. i know the design is such this should not matter, but trust me it cooled my vape to a point where i can still vape even with a sore throat(tho i have cut-back to allow a full recovery, hopefully.)
when i inspected the center positive post and the hole in the base where it rests i saw that there is a cicular channel for airflow regardless of center pin placement but when you simply align the flathead slot on the center post with your ext. airhole it give enough added airflow to cool the vape. it also makes a slight whistling sound that i distinctly remember from when i first build my kayfun before making the flush-mount modification.
Thanks Cad for starting me in the right direction. you were absolutely right. i have a better understanding of vapor physics after spending a few days trying different things and with your help finding what i had done to screw up my KL.
If I recall, Diver said it didn't add anything to the vape quality but he was going to try again.
This is interesting, because I tightened my positive connections fractionally as soon as I got my KFL+s, having heard that otherwise the positive terminal block can spin when you're assembling the thing. Literally only a few degrees, and I haven't noted any real problems that I can't put down to inexperience with the cotton wicks, but still.
It's lined up pretty precisely in the 1st and 4th pics here;
Kayfun Lite - User Manual (English)
although obviously they're renderings, so that doesn't tell you much. But in the legend for the 4th pic, it is labelled 'air duct'. To my untrained eye it looks more like a screw from that end...![]()
Yep. This is how it should be.

Hmmm that's interesting. I wonder if the hole in the center pin goes all the way through though. I check svoe mesto's site and can't get clarification. It would make sense to have the hole on both sides. I noticed mine is off after I've changed insulators. I'll have to straighten her down next time I refill and see if I notice a difference. Thanks for posting.
Interesting. I noticed mine came about 1/8 of a turn away from "dead center" on both my KFL and my KFL+.
I adjusted both to the picture. With my original KFL, it made a slight, but noticeable, difference in flavor (more) and throat hit (less). Vapor seemed about the same.
I like it better this new way.
Thanks!
Tapped out
Hmmm mine was about 90 degrees from that picture. I just took it apart and aligned like the picture and notice no difference in air flow or performance. Weird.
Well, naturally I'd just filled a tank
So I tried giving at a little tweak. 0.0 ohms.
So I drained it, moved the +ive terminal back, tightened it properly with the head aligned, readjusted my coil, refilled, and noticed a significant increase in airflow.
So I turned the airflow adjuster about 1/4 turn back out, which seems about how it was. The flavour does seem cleaner, though I might be imagining it.
Nevertheless thanks - would have taken me a month of Sundays to figure that one out...![]()
Ok so I guess the beer is wearing off. I do notice that the air hole whistles on deep hits. It never did that before.![]()
