If you have the Plus model Kas just open the air screw to compensate...you knew that, and it was a no hassle build Mutant, just dampen the tails with some liquid and those tails are easily wedged between the screws and coil sides...try it, if you like a thicker vape...you'll get it.

Well I needed to build a new coil tonight, it was just acting a bit weird, so I tried this. I think I used a bit more cotton then you, and it did tight up the draw a bit but I like it.

So you got more vapor? Any effect on taste?

I do not have the + version, but tight draw/loose draw does not bother me, I notice more flavor, that's what I vape for, not the clouds, it tastes good, I like it so far.

That's encouraging Kas...still in beta test phase though, with a few tweaks I think it'll get better ...slightly lower ohm build will be first up...

Tried it. I love it!
I got a good amount of more vapor. Rough guess maybe ~35-40% more? Not sure really but it's considerably more and more dense. Pretty thick.
I could tell it gave more vapor on the first warm up pull when i let some out of my nose.
I also got a bit more flavor. Not a lot more but a noticeable slight bump. I've been vaping the same juice for 2 days so I'm pretty well calibrated taste wise atm.
The draw was very slightly tighter. Barely noticeable. My Coil is diagonal so maybe it has a bit more air space than yours somehow.

I like this build because you get more taste/clouds w/ basically no extra hassle. No twisting or dual coil setup work.

Regular off the shelf drug store rolled sterile cotton 69, just dampen the prepared wick with a little eliquid and gently roll it straight, takes a little finesse, and make sure there's very light drag back and forth after you install it.

That's xlnt Ace...new builds always get better with a bit of break-in, flavor might get a touch better. What are the specs on your coil ?

I forgot to mention wicking material lol. I guess juice pg/vg matters too. Basically I'm wondering why my cotton comes out so gross and I have so much gunk build up on my coil after just one tank. I hate seeing burnt juice flow back into my tank and ruin my beautiful juice lol. And I only vape 8 watts 3.8 volts at 1.8 ohms 1/16th bit 30 Awg cotton 80vg 20 pg

I tend to adjust from 11-15 according to mood and juices. Also, I never know which one will land on my Electric Angel mechanical mod and I vape it from a fresh 4.2V battery on down to 3.5V - occasionally down to 3.2V or lower when I'm not careful.

I've never seen darkened juice flow back into the tank on any of my builds. My very first build (horizontal micro/cotton/1.4Ω) surprised me when I rewicked it after about 10 tanks of HHV NET juices. The wick was gunked up and had lost flavor, but it was still doing its job getting juice to the coil. These days, I rewick once a week regardless of the number of refills. I may increase that frequency, too.

In the never ending search for the Holy Grail of KFL coils...here's my latest. The only difference between this and a standard 1.5mm/28ga/1.4ohm setup is the wick placement, i extended the wick length and looped the excess back up off the deck and snugged it up next to the coil on both sides then trimmed each side even with the end of the coil. Vapor production is better than any other style I've built, and flavor is a bit better. I'm kinda coiled out having tried every style execpt twisted...so I'll probably stick with this one for awhile...famous last words.

In my experience this style muted air flow big time, have you noticed that? And juice flowing from the air hole, may have been from low coil placement but it stopped Ayer re wicking

With this kit installed into a Terminator-C you end up with an Oddy clone in long mode on the outside with the workings of a Kayfun on the inside.

If you're talking about mod hybrids, a couple of vendors make hybrid adapters for certain style 22mm mods. I have a few on order. They give you a hybrid look.

If you're talking about the kayfun specifically, a couple of vendors make some replacement parts that give you a reduced size kayfun. A Kayfun Micro if you will. Personally, I wouldn't want the juice capacity any less but the form factor is nice.
