I'll be checking out the H-Cigar Nemisis here in a few...Pretty sure it's a bottom fire and dang sure I sold my Precise for that reason as well...I've been debating the GG clone from EhPro....SS construction with a floating pin and all contacts are silver plated.....Kinda wishing I'd kept serial #340 GGTS at this point but hey..... they had this new variable voltage thing back then...

The quality of Chinese clones skyrocketed in 2013. With devices like the Russion, the Tobecco Kayfun Lite, Chemesis, and a huge number of other counterfeit mechs, especially in the last few months. I doubt I would have gotten into mechs if that didn't happen. My Kayfun Lite is actually my only high end authentic device, which I bought used for about the same price a clone would have cost. I actually had the Kayfun clone on order, which I canceled when I was offered the original.
I see both ends of the argument, but the truth is stealing these designs and making counterfeits is wrong no matter how you look at it. I still buy them, which is definately in a morally gray area but not illegal (that I know of). I'm not proud of that, but I'm not really ashamed either.
What I'd like to see in 2014.. we know China is capable of making high quality devices at a cheap price. I'd like to see a Chinese company do that with their own designs. Use the smart ideas the modders use like copper/brass/or silver plated pins so people have the option of a great performing Chinese devices that aren't clones/replicas/counterfeits.
Another thing I'd like to see; high end modders offering cheaper mechs and/or more affordable versions of their high end mechs. Like the Nemesis which is a great design, would be cool to see the same company offer a version without the cool logos, using cheaper stainless steel like the Chinese clone, and cheaper but functionally the same parts. I would be first in line for an authentic clone lol.

also never cared to much for bottom button mechs and sold a vela because of. I recently purchased a dingo mod, same company who sells the roller, its from atmizoo. the firing button is a side mount and works very well.
I have vaped all mentioned and a lot of others and though it maybe hard to describe the differences, especially due to the fact that everyone has difference tastes I find my 2 favorite wicks have been porous ceramic (which really doesn't pertain to micro coils, although it can) and hemp fibers (much better for micro's). so if your looking to try different wicking materials, just wanted to throw in another option.
It's been mentioned in previous threads, just wondering if these designs have actually been ripped off, or licensed for reproduction by the original designers...guess we'll never know.
Vapdivrr I've been reading backwards through this thread...I've seen your video and Thanks for that!! I'll be initially going with a 9/10 wrap 28g looking for @ 1.8 on a Pro-Vari...DIY juice is 80/20 and vaporizes cleaner than most....I plan on cotton balls first...Balls....rolled.....yarn...Which lasts the longest??? One friend stated he got a week from his wick and he had yarn...I'm pondering if I should go yarn first...
The hemp is interesting as well and I do have some hemp wick...Note this is for other purposes and is wax coated.....Has anyone tried hemp as a wick??/ If so where was it sourced and what did you think about it....I've seen hemp twine that looks too be in it's natural state and may/or not be a go...

Yep, once you get GOOD COTTON BALLs and a solid micro-coil your can't beat it! So easy and tastes great
don't use the hemp you have, it really needs to be untreaded. there have been good results with hemp cord but the newer version is degumped hemp fibers. I have gotten some a while ago to try and haven't actually purchased any myself. I believe the place where this hemp fibers is obtained is hemp traders and is only available in maybe a kilo which is quite a lot. although the hemp fibers is very cheap it does require some preparation which takes a little time. I had to boil a few times, rinse , use some detergent, boil again and rinse. although it took some time to prep, once you do a bunch your good to go for a long long time. out of the cotton (rolled and balls) and yarn, I believe the yarn would last the longest. longevity in all 3 are, for the most part fairly equal and imo the desired material shouldn't be determined because of. I would choose the material for taste and wicking abilities before longevity reasons. with sterile cotton balls I would change my wicks about every 4 days, with the hemp fibers its like 5. all in all I just preferred the sterile cotton balls over the yarn for wicking reasons and ease of, with the yarn it just seemed a little more of a pain to thread.
el dee, so you currently have a kayfun? or want to get one? you mentioned a 1.8 resistance your looking for and with 28g wire, I guess with a 5/64 diameter coil 9 or 10 wraps would obtain this but most, including myself use a smaller diameter coil and for this resistance it probably would require more wraps then the 9 or 10 you mentioned.
