Hey guys. It's been a while since I've posted here but am happy to report that all is well in Kay Fun Land. Running my original KFL and the Plus exclusively now on 30g wire and cotton. Even though I recoil once a month, I think these things could live on much longer. Anyway, I've been using these two blunt tip syringes for filling and extracting old juice each time I re-wick (every other day). They work great for manipulating the cotton into place and adjusting my coils after I pull out the old cotton. I was wondering if anyone knows of good site to buy them for a decent price. If you ever bought a Zap, they used to come with them. Pretty sure they're 16g. Thanks.
El, it depends on the juice, but changing the cotton after every tank is not out of the question. There are some juices I vape that wouldn't make it through one tank. On the plus side, it's really not much effort to change out the cotton wick.

I pretty much always change my wick and burn my coil after each tank. yes it's a bit of a hassle but only takes a few minutes and a trip to the sink. For me it's not the wick that needs changing, it's the coil that needs cleaning. I dry burn, rinse and brush (toothpick brush) my coil after every tank because if I don't... I can taste the stuff on the coil.. a kinda of "straw" "stale" taste. This is the main reason I had to find something other than cartos in tanks... I couldn't clean the coil in a carto and after a day or so, I could taste it so I had to chunk it.
My zap came with an 18g needle. 16g wouldn't fit in the fill hole. I don't use 18g because my juice is 50% vg and takes forever to suck up in an 18g needle. you can buy 14 and 16g needles at onestopdiyshop![]()
Hi Donnah - can just clarify which device you were referring to the 16g not fitting in the fill hole (Zap or KFL)?
Thanks again
I am a noob with RBAs and need to order supplies to start coiling and configs a KFL.
What would be the recommended stuff to order Kanthal (what awg/mm), Mesh?, Steel Rope? And Ekowool (2mm, 2.5mm? Etc), Silica? (Size mm), cotton (where to get this from?)
I am hoping to try out as many configs as a noob can and would like to order supplies together.
I want to try MicroCoils and Cotton as soon as i am ok with making coils no point wasting time!![]()
Any help would be appreciated, going to order before midnight tonight (UK)
Vape on!

Making microcoils is easier than making traditional coils. I agree...don't waste your time. Start with microcoils. Go to You Tube and bone up on your microcoiling skills. Don't know where Vapedivers went. The standard microcoil.![]()
Here's a thread I made for ECFers to post their micro coil video guides. Lot's of great vids, including a couple by vapdvrr. I'm pretty sure one of his was specific to the Kayfun too.. Micro coil videos
I agree about micros being easier than standard coils, takes a lot of the guesswork out and it's easy to get repeatable results.

I should have remembered your thread, Jerms. I'm still subscribed to it.![]()

I'm doing about the same. My tanks only hold a little over 1ml and I'm changing after 3 or 4 refills. I add vanilla and caramel to everything and they're notorious coil gunkers. If vapor production goes down, I really can't tell it. Just a hint of that off taste.
I'm reminded of a picture I seen a while back, and I really wish I had bookmarked it. Grud was an inch thick on that coil. I'm sitting here grinnin' just thinking about it lol. I should have bookmarked it.
