Thanks mate,
But does anyone know of any US based vendors with it in stock? Running into issues with cloud 9 trying to input card information. Also it's shipping through an FPO address and us based vendors usually have a more compatible site for shipping FPO

Have yet to try any of the Kayfuns. Looks good and easy to set up. Any idea on pricing? Cloud9 is still open just a couple days a week, I see. Already sold out?

Get a Clone from fasttech.com for $21.00 I have 3 of them, work great.

This is my pv. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My pv is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my pv is useless. Without my pv, I am useless. I must fire my pv true. I must vape and not smoke the cigarette, who is trying to kill me. I must vaporize him before he kills me. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my pv and myself are defenders of my lungs, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but clouds. Amen.
18650 Provari Kayfun sitting on SM pro ring and Super T shorty tip, finally! Thanks for making it right vaperev. Tapered ring glorious-ness. I need a new provari now to use with protanks since this one is now a kayvari hybrid.
Or was it profun?

I am a noob with RBAs and need to order supplies to start coiling and configs a KFL.

What would be the recommended stuff to order Kanthal (what awg/mm), Mesh?, Steel Rope? And Ekowool (2mm, 2.5mm? Etc), Silica? (Size mm), cotton (where to get this from?)

I am hoping to try out as many configs as a noob can and would like to order supplies together.

I want to try MicroCoils and Cotton as soon as i am ok with making coils no point wasting time!;)

Any help would be appreciated, going to order before midnight tonight (UK)

Vape on!

Hey guys. It's been a while since I've posted here but am happy to report that all is well in Kay Fun Land. Running my original KFL and the Plus exclusively now on 30g wire and cotton. Even though I recoil once a month, I think these things could live on much longer. Anyway, I've been using these two blunt tip syringes for filling and extracting old juice each time I re-wick (every other day). They work great for manipulating the cotton into place and adjusting my coils after I pull out the old cotton. I was wondering if anyone knows of good site to buy them for a decent price. If you ever bought a Zap, they used to come with them. Pretty sure they're 16g. Thanks.

get mine from avid vapors, I love the 3in 16g blunt tipers

Bronze I'll be watching out for Max....

Vapdivrr my Plus should be here any day...I'll be running it on a Pro-Vari and figured it would be a good match from 1.5~2.0...I gotta spool of 28 and 30...I'd read that someone was changing their cotton wick after every tank...This had me mildly concerned but I do realize YMMV...I can likely kill most of a tank in a day...The hemp sounds like more than I can schedule...I got more than plenty of bits and will pick up some cotton balls soon....

Dust that coil looks great...11/12 on a 5/64th @1.6...I could live with that...That'll accept the yarn in its original diameter with none removed....correct????
awesome and good luck with it. the hemp is a little of a pain to get and prep, cotton is almost just as good and so easy to get and prep. so just be a little patient and in no time youll have your set up up and running. with your diy you probably will be able to go for a good while before doing a dry burn or re wick.

Vapdivrr it should be here tomorrow...I got CVS sterile cotton balls..... and a brand new pair of scissors!!!!! Wanted to have at it with the yarn as well...My local WM only had Peaches and Cream...It's white and I believe Sugar and Cream to be a different brand...I checked a few threads and it seems to be OK...

All my coils so far have been 1/8 on my DID....As far as wicking....Cotton or yarn will be waaaayyyyy easier than SS mesh...Heck how about grinding down a ceramic aquarium air stone....No matter what wick they simply had to be tilted for good vapor...I'm going for the 16 wicks from a cotton ball first off...Even picked a magnifying lamp too QC with...It will be a happy day to see the micro glow...

DIY top insulator for KFL, in case anybody need a solution if theirs are shorted.

I used old credit card because it is the same thickness as the insulator.

Just cut it as close to the shape of the insulator.

Make it better by using sandpaper on the edges.

For the hole, I mark the spot and puncture the centre of the circle first with a safety pin.

Then manual hand drill with a phillip precision screwdriver. Size No. 0 first, then I realized that the hole is not big enough and No. 1 did the job.

The white DIY is the improved version because I suspect that the ink on the card was melting a bit.

Just sandpaper on both face of the insulator to remove the printing.

I have no problem with the other insulator inside with the center post.

If that is busted, I read that taping it with insulator tape or duct tape will bring the KFL back to life :)

I seem to be reading a lot lately about +post failures!! Is one of the mfg's, (EhPro, Tobeco, HCigar, etc.), having more of a problem with it than the other? Are these going bad due to people putting more stress, (over tightening), on the +post than what is needed? I seem to read at least 2-3 posts per day...

Question....when checking your coil for hot spots, what will that look like?? If it turns red from inside to out and all coils are red, all is good correct?? I am just curious what to look for that is "not right" such as a hot spot, etc. Thanks and I can't promise that this is the last question as I am on page 140 on this thread!

Zero - If you are setting up a Kayfun then don't bother with SS mesh, Cables or ecowool. All you need is a good variety of coil material to play with and organic cotton balls which you can buy at your local drug store.
The most commonly used coil wire is 28 ga and 30 ga. And you'll need something to wrap the coil around. I use one of my wifes giant needles that measures .062" (1.57mm) If you already have 18 ga blunt tip needle you can use those or anything else that is about 1.5mm dia.

There are tons of videos and topics about kayfun set ups. This thread is full of great info.

in my area neither organic or sterile cotton balls or rolled cotton are available. Stores i visited looking for cotton suitable for RBAs include: walgreens walmart bartells safeway qfc target albertsons. the closest thing i ever found was sterile gauze, which all of these stores carry. i tried a few different bags of cotton balls from these stores. the quality of "makeup" grade cotton is terrrible and it tastes such. save yourself the trouble and just order some sterile stuff from CVS pharmacy online, unless you are lucky enough to have one of those locally.

A few weeks ago a bought a EH Pro kfl clone from madvapes. I paid a little less than $70 for it. I cleaned it and set it up. Before I did this, I noticed that the air hole was super tiny compared to the air holes of my real ones. That concerned me. Once it was set up that draw was really tight..yep, the tiny air hole. I tried to take it apart but the screw that makes up the 510 connection just wouldn't unscrew and come out. I didn't try too hard because I was afraid of messing something up. Set up like it came from the store, it was pretty much unvapeable. So I took a drill to the air hole, chucking the bit up enough to not go too far inside. I was able to get the hole large enough so that it's now vapeable. It's still a bit tighter than my real ones but it's acceptable.

It's a beast to get apart.. that bottom ss section just doesn't want to unscrew from the base. I can get it apart but it's not easy. Fortunately, I can easily rewick it with that section on so it's not that big a deal. I managed to get it off this morning but had to use some force to get it screwed back on.

All in all, with it's tight threads and the modded air hole, it vapes and preforms like my real ones and I do (now) like it. But if this was someone's first kfl and they didn't know how what the real one was like.. it might not go over too well. I read over and over about how china clones are just as good as the real devices and maybe that's true in some instances. In my experience it hasn't been (other than the RSST). I read over and over about how this or that clone works well if it's modded in some way or another.

I can't really say that I wish I had spent a little more and just gotten another real kfl because if I had, I wouldn't have had the experience of seeing the eh pro model and seeing the differences and what it took to get it to work for me. I guess it was worth $30 having the take 10 or so minutes to drill it out. I don't know if I'll buy another kfl.. I've got enough but if I do, I don't think I'll buy another clone. I'm not against clones but from what I've experienced and read, it's a crap shoot.. you might get a good one..you might not.

I wrap my coils, install them and then thread cotton through them. My coils light up from the inside and spread out. I don't think "hot spots" really pertain to micro coils like this .. that's more of a mesh thing. If you're on page 140.. then I'm probably still going through my "it's not wicking" stage LOL. In the beginning, many of us (myself included) thought that the wicks had to be kept as far as possible from the juice inlets but that's not so. The cotton needs to be right that to suck up the juice as it's sucked into the chamber. This post here really helped me understand what was going on inside and what I was doing wrong.

I live in southern cali, there are vape stores every were like 7/11's. The KLite clones are 40 bux every were & yes, they have a smaller air intake hole. So draw is not as good as an OEM. Lots of people are buying the clone & drilling away. I am happy with the 2 OEM Klites i own. There is no way i would take a drill to my prized atty. I did not even want to drill out my Stratus22's tight draw caps (gennie). I dont mind taking the drill to an IGO-L or W, but my real nice OEM stuff, is perfect as is. The price to pay some times for a good deal, modding required.
