I've come to realize the wicking/build tips are more important to the high/100% VG users. The 70/30ers like me seem to have less issues. Stands to reason.

Tis true. It does work great even with thick liquid, but more care needs to be taken with wick set-up, and a tighter draw helps a lot. My juices are at the whole range of ratios, and want it set up to work with anything. For the most part the kayfun can do that, better than other tank devices I've tried.

Also would be cool if the device could be made to be able to fully fill from a fill hole so that it's impossible to overfill, so someone could just blindly fill it up.

Maybe I've just been lucky, but can you overfill the KFL+?

I turn mine completely upside-down and keep squeezing until a little juice starts to show in the fill hole. I'm sure I couldn't get another drop in there and haven't had a single problem ..... yet ;)

A larger air hole would be awesome. Since removing the air control screw I've noticed a tiny bit of condensation in the juice well that I didn't get before.

I don't know about the KFL+, but with my KFL when I tried filling to the top through the fill hole it was flooded pretty bad.

I think I'm going to get another Kayfun soon. I've found I really like having a straight tobacco NET in it. That's my prefered vape in the morning and it's easy to grab right away no matter what I was dripping the night before.

But it's main duty was meant for on-the-go vaping to replace my ProTank 2, which isn't straight tobacco NETs. So I guess it will have to pull dual duties until I get another. They should come in packs of two, because really, is one Kayfun ever enough? (Never thought I'd want more than one tank).

Update on my nano kit... While nice, 1.5 ml was a really small capacity. I now have one nano ring below the window, and one regular ring above the window...3ml...plus the regular KF driptip fits, which I really like.

Nope...used a syringe to measure the fill. 1.5ml. Remember that the height it is taking away is all at the level of the narrow part of the chimney, where most of the volume is...

omg, 1.5 ml... I was really hoping they would hold atleast 2.5. I hardly use my Oddy anymore because it only holds 1.5ml! kinda glad now I didn't order a nano kit...

I don't know about the KFL+, but with my KFL when I tried filling to the top through the fill hole it was flooded pretty bad.

Mine too seems to work better when it is not filled completely up with juice. If it is filled completely it will flood for a while after filling. The tank needs some air space to work as designed.
The reason for this is that this tank system uses vacuum and pressure to control the flow of juice to and from the lower deck. When you inhale the pressure lowers in the coil area and juice flows from the tank to the lower deck via the small channels. This creates a negative pressure(vacuum) in the tank. When you stop your inhale the pressure in the coil area returns to normal ambient room pressure and the negative pressure that was created in the tank sucks any juice on the lower deck that the wicks did not pickup back into the tank. At this point in time the pressure in the tank and the coil area are equal. The reason no juice flows at this point of equal pressure is the tank is sealed. Kind of like sticking a straw in a glass of water and then putting your finger on top of the straw and removing the straw from the water.---no water will flow from the straw as long as you hold your finger on the top of it.
The tank needs some air space for the above to happen as air can be compressed and expanded, but a liquid(juice) can not be expanded or compressed. This air space acts as a pressure bubble, compressing and expanding.
I have read the Kayfuns manual and it explains this process, but I do not remember where I saw it. Both the Kayfun Lite and the Kayfun Lite Plus work the same way.

hey guys, I have seen a lot of posts saying that you don't want to block off the juice channels on the kayfun, in fact I might have said this before. after many builds I have actually noticed that as I open up my lite to re-wick or mess around with a new build that my wick tails are always positioned right on this channel. if someone told me to position my wick tail to actually block off this channel, then this is what it looks like to me. my tails really don't sit along the ledge, they basically are positioned just to the ledge and really are positioned right on the channel itself. I believe this position is good, the juice still comes in and I don't think it is really possible to block off the flow of juice unless you actually stuff it into the channel. I don't intentionally position my tails at the channels but it is very close and every time I open up my kayfun the tails somehow re- position slightly and move closer to the channel. anyways I can honestly say I have never had a dry hit with this device with micro&cotton and maybe this is a possible reason. so if some are having issues with dry hits and they believe the wick size is good and have a good coil then try a shorter wick that just reaches the channel and position it right at the channel, its worth a try. i know its late, couldn't sleep.

I just read a recent post pertaining to something I posted a while back in September, post 2564. I always found it better to wick right on the channels and not away from them

While I understand the physics behind how the Kayfun works, I have to say this is the best layman's explanation. Ever. Thanks!

Thank you for the kind words.
After working in a Pharmaceutical manufacturing plant for 39 years as an equipment engineer I got a lot of experience trying to explain how things work to people in simple terms that they could understand. Now being retired I spend most of my time with this new hobby of mine call vaping. The only problem is I want to get all the new toys that come out.

I have noticed the same thing happening. It must be the negative pressure in the tank, after the inhale stops, that moves the wicks to the edge of the channels as the unwicked juice flows back into the tank.
    Just a guess.

I worked in engineering for 22 years...then did a complete career switch...I've been a Financial Advisor for the past 11 years...I get a lot of experience explaining complicated concepts to people as well. But at least in my office, I can see when I've gone over a client's head, and they've turned into a glazed donut in front of me...on these boards, not so much.

Despite what Woody says, I give you a personal invite to the GP thread...I love my KFL, but the Spheroid atty is even better...and the mods. Oh, the engineer in you will love them. The workmanship, design, and customer service is unequaled. We'd love to have you stop by...

The thing I don't like about the internet, email, forums, etc is not being able to "read" the person you are having a conversation/chat with.
You don't know if they get what you saying and it is hard to read their emotions.

Thanks for the invite. I will check it out for sure.
