I was making a joke about the comment of buying the gadgets and new stuff. The GP thread will not help that scenario lol. Didn't want it to be misconstrued as me being mean.
I knew you were joking about that. I visited the GP thread last night and then went to their website. That is really some nice looking devices. I think you were correct, I might should have stayed away. I really did like the tank system they have and may have to get one after I learn a little more about it. I have been a Kayfun Lite fan up this point and use three of them daily. I had never seen the GP one before which is quite amazing as I stay on the internet daily looking at the vaping gear.
The above info is awesome, but I'm curious to know if you are only referring to top-filling?
See?! That's why I said stay away lol. But seriously, the product isn't even the reason I will forever be GP. It's also the service after sale, the community in that thread, the drive to always be creating and listening to clients. Perseas is a great man. Lurk enough and you will see a glimpse of it. Even the exclusive American reseller Domo Vapor is the exact same way.
I am also a lover of the Kayfun. It changed my vape life. This Heron from GP in my eyes at least is the next Kayfun.

No, the vacuum system of the tank works the same way after you fill it either from the top or bottom. I fill mine from the bottom while holding the tank at about a 45 angle, with the bottom being in the up position and the fill hole being at the upmost position. When filling, I stop adding juice when I can see just a little remaining air bubble in the middle clear tank section. I then hold the tank bottom straight up and put the fill screw back in. This way I know I have left some air space in the tank.
If you fill from the top, doing the finger over the air hole thing and then turning the tank bottom up after putting the top back on before removing the finger, you end up with the same situation as you do filling from the bottom as long as you do not completely fill the tank with juice and leave some air space.
When you fill either way you need to end up with an air bubble on top of the juice in the tank when it is in the upright position after filling.
I am not totally sure of how much air space must be left for this system to work as designed. I would guess 10% to 15% of the tank volume should be air space.
One of the tall, completely clear tanks would let you see the entire air bubble while filling and may let you get a little more juice in the tank while still leaving enough of an air bubble.
I was warned, but I could not resist taking a look to see what y'all were all about in the GP thread!!!! It really seems to be a great group in the thread.
I for sure want to learn more about these products as they seem to be so well designed and thought out. I use three of the Kayfun Lites and three Protank2's at the present time and I have been looking to replace the Protanks with something better. After I learn enough to be able to carry on a conversation with the group I will join in.

I don't have a Kayfun Lite to compare to, just 2 +s, but it seems to me that there must be some difference between them in terms of the way they work because, as I mentioned way back in post #6662, I fill my KFL+s to the brim, from the bottom, with no problems of leaking or even gurgling.
I use a typical syringe-tipped bottle inserted most of the way but not flush with the bottle cap so there is space for the air to escape and they turn out purrrrrrfect. I tried the tilt-fill-till-the-bubble-disappears method a couple of times when I got my first KFL+ and it worked great, but then I watched Phil A PBusardo Review - The Kayfun Lite+ and CU Vaping Contest Winner - YouTube at around the 31:40 mark in the vid and now I don't bother with all of that - I just fill. What ever works I guess. Thanks again!

I think where leaving an air space comes into play is with users who take HUGE & FAST inhales when they use the Kayfuns. This huge inhale creates quite a low pressure in the coil area inside the chimney which in turn draws a larger amount of juice into the lower deck than a normal draw. If the tank has no air space to create a sizeable vacuum when this happens then the unwicked juice will not be drawn back into the tank in this situation and could cause flooding as this juice builds up. I don't think normal draws that most take causes this problem, so the air space is not critical.
It seems there are some new owners of the Kayfuns having flooding problems and so I tried to put some posts up with anything that may help get them going. The Kayfuns are getting very popular it appears. I have listed o-ring problems and coil height above air hole as possible reasons for flooding to them also.

Anyway - I just don't want people to be afraid of KayFun tanks, well at least the KFL+, when they are so wonderfully simple to set up and use, and also to adjust to personal preference - but even then, only if required. If you're a guy who likes bubbles - you should have them and enjoy.

I went to the post you did on Sept 2nd and read it. That is a very detailed write up on how the Kayfun system works. Very well done I must say. I had not read it before, but it sure would have shortened my learning curve on the Kayfun. It should be required reading for all new Kayfun owners. I have read the Kayfun factory manual and I think you did a better job than they did explaining their own system.
I recommend for all to go read it.
No need for that at all. Ask away in there. Anyone is more than willing to help each other out. There are no boundaries, we talk about other mods, juices, socks and shoes, anything. I haven't even used a protank since I went mech. I own all GP mods and a Nemesis clone. There is also a whole thread started by Chadsmo about the very soon to be released Heron. My Kayfun is my all day every day companion.

I think the Kayfun Lites are one of the best tank systems available. I too want the new users to have success and be able to enjoy them to the fullest.
How is the weather up your way this week?? We had wind chills down to near zero last night and it is supposed to be colder tonight. I am sure it is much worst for you.
And, I do like my bubbles. If they are coming up from the bottom of a mug of cold beer.
