I've been cleaning my kfl+ with warm water. I've heard of people using vodka. is it overkill? any other suggestions?
thanks!

You might be misunderstanding them. They're cleaning their KFL with warm water but drinking vodka while they're doing it. :)

After you let your KFL dry....do a good dry burning to clean the gunk off the coil. Nothing cleans a coil better. But don't do a dry burn with cotton. It will burn.

Got my kfl+ today. I'm completely in love with it!
Set it up with a 1.5 ohm,29ga microcoil and cotton. Has worked perfectly for me since i started using it 5 hours ago.
No burn taste,no leaks, lots of vapour and taste, and most of all no flooding or gurgling.
I've been using the protank1(?) for many months, and been generally happy with it, it would flood when it was getting low on juice, and when i had been outside in the cold and coming back inside.
None of that on the kfl+! Was out in -10 degrees, coming back inside, still works flawlessly. Can't say yet whether it will gurgle when it gets low on juice..Haven't read any reports of that happening.
Currently using it on the lavatube,as im waiting on the provari that should be in my hands on Monday! Christmas came early for me this year.

Yeah it's awesome that the KFL works in arctic weather. Nope, no gurgles when it gets low on juice, she pumps out perfect vapes until nearly bone dry. That's how I know mines empty since I don't have the clear section, it's usually the first dry hit I'll get in a tank. Dry enough to notice but not so dry to burn the cotton. No waste, no muss, no fuss.

its only current limited, not resistance. I have a .9ohm dual coil in mine now... But I can only vape between 2.9-3.1V before getting an E2 error.

Correct. It is a common misconception that the The lowest resistance a ProVari will run is 1.2-1.3 ohms. In truth, it will run a coil as low as 0.8 ohms, but it will only run it with the device set to 2.9v.

The ProVari (v2-v2.5) has a 3.5 amp switch. So, using rounded figures here, 0.8 ohms hits 3.5 amps at 2.9v. 0.9 ohms @ 3.2v, 1.0 ohm @ 3.5v, 1.1 ohms @ 3.9v, ect, ect

I think people get confused about the low resistance limitations of the ProVari because when people started trying to run Gennys and RDAs on it at lower resistance, they'd never think to try and run a 0.9 ohm coil @ 3.1v for instance. Once you get to 1.2-1.3 ohms, it allows you to use a much fuller range of voltage and wattage before hitting that 3.5 amp limit.

Running the Dusty D coil tonight...11 wraps on a 7/64 drill bit and a full piece of yarn..2.2 ohms a little higher than I like but oh well...Much easier set up to run that's for sure....

Would that be 5/64 vs 7/64? I'm guessing it's a typo.

2.2ohms, 30gauge wire?

Glad that it's working out for you, and yes, it's super easy to setup and just works.. :)

Dusty i was sure I read a couple hundred pages back where you said it was 7/64...I remember thinking that was a large coil...I looked it up in the guide and it was listed as a mini coil. I saw the other night where you said it was 5/64 and I figured that was a typo....

So Yeah... I wrapped it 28G, 11 wraps, 7/64, 2.2 ohms...The wick slid through with ease!!!!!!! Had me thinking I'd been using way to much cotton...Funny though it works quiet well....

I'll finish this tank and drop it down in size...How many wraps are you using and what are the ohms??

5/64 (1.98mm), 28g, 11/12 wraps gives me a nice tight 1.6ohm-1.7ohm coil. The single strand of cotton yarn fits it just right..
