It's only $106 at today's exchange rate. The exchange rate would have to decrease 6-7% to put it below $100. You can always wait, but the rate can move the other direction as well...not sure why it's worth $6 to wait?!

I was asking because of something another poster said

Cheaper when you buy them direct. 2 KFL's, 2 colored tanks, 1 set of insulators, $194 shipped.

I can get a KFL+ for under $100 shipped

but I cannot figure out where he is "Ordering direct" from...Or maybe he's just talking to talk..(he did offer me a co-op deal but he wouldn't take paypal so I passed)

Also what coils and ohms are you guys using? I just got mine and it's alright but I guess I just got used to RDA's.

I make a single coil using Kanthal 28 AWG

Wrap it around a 2.4mm (3/32") drill bit stem

10 wraps makes a 1.6 ohm coil

Feed it 3.8 volts (that's 9.0 watts)

I can relate. When I moved on to rba and kayfuns I gave all my clearos to my gf... Then she tried mine and demanded one.

I have two KFL+. drilled one out a little wider. Its more airy draw for sure, easy for me to compare btw two of them. I´m normally using around 1.6 ohms.

Has anybody drilled out their kayfun for more airflow? Also what coils and ohms are you guys using? I just got mine and it's alright but I guess I just got used to RDA's .

I'm about ready to pitch this thing in the trash. I've tried a few builds now. Wicked with cotton and silica. Different gauge wire. All produce nothing but vapor. No throat hit which is fine with me but also no flavor at all. The Nautilus and Aerotank both produce better flavor than this thing. It's the spiffy Black Russian one from eBay that the folks on mod envy rave about. Can anyone point me to a simple build that actually works in this piece of garbage?

How about you post a picture of your current build and we guide you through what may or may not be wrong? With the number of folks on here that are getting stellar results with the KFL's and Russian's, I would hazard a guess that there's something wrong with your build, rather than with the actual device itself.

As for a basic build, a simple mini/micro coil with a cotton wick cannot be beat. Most folks tend to over do the cotton wick though and end up choking the coil, which leads to frustrating results.

Here are a bunch of micro coil vids. Watch some of these. They apply to the Kayfun (and others). The same concepts apply. And Dust is right, Kayfuns have take over the atty market...with good reason. They rock. You're just having some bad beginners luck. You haven't been the only one.

Try adjusting the height of your coil above the airhole. Svoemesto recommends 1-1.5mm clearance. Seems to make a big difference on mine.

I've been building with the coil just clearing the center air hole and the tiny rim of that tube. I'm supposed to have it higher than that? It's just so frustrating, I've had great success with the RBAs I bought to learn how to build coils. Igo-s, the small Smok (squid?), A7 and mini A7. All those seemed to just work fine, cotton or silica, 0.9 to 2.5 ohm builds. I tried another cotton build just now, 0.9, 5 (or 6, forgot already) around a 2mm screwdriver shaft. Tons of vapor but nada taste. No dry hits and no gurgling so I'm pretty sure I got the wicking correct, that is enough cotton but not too much. Wish I could get a picture or two but all I have is the low res web cam built into my tablet and I don't think it's setup for pictures just chat, or I should say that I don't have a camera app that will work with it.

yes, menthol is also a tank cracker. Some do, i hear some dont. Er on the cautious side.

Yeah it's definately possible to have the coil too close to the airhole, I learned that my last build, very subpar vape when it just barely clears the hole. Raise it up a ml or two, enough to give proper airflow. The higher you go the more throat hit, so if you raise it and it's too harsh you know to lower it a little.
