My friend has the BE and I compared my v2 tobeco. Not much of a difference considering the BE uses the tobeco parts

Wow.
Moving to a new city and starting a new job kept me off the net for a few weeks.
I just had to spend almost 2 hours catching up on this thread alone...
Drop kits, people falling off barstools, and twisting kanthal...
I've never tried twisted in the KFL's, I'm going to give it a shot with 32.
Have a good day all!
Been playing around with the newer version of the KFL+ for the past week or so, and I've come across a recurring issue of getting awful burning tastes and sure enough when I look at the deck the wicks are dried out but there's plenty of juice left. I made less thick wicks because I thought maybe the coil was choking the wick. Went through some troubleshooting from the svoemesto guide and tried out a few things, and I'm not getting the burnt dried up wicks anymore, but I also feel like flavor isn't where it was with some more successful wicks.
I do 8-9 wraps on 3/32" and I cut the wick right around the end of the flow channels. I then turn the wicks vertical and put the base of the small chimney that goes over the build deck on and then push my wicks down and saturate everything nice and good before testing for vapor and putting everything else together. I'm open to suggestions to improve this in any way for better flavor and possibly better vapor. Not the greatest "wick maker" in the world that's for sure and every time seems to be different from the last. Thoughts?
Has anyone tried xc-116 from RBAsupplies on there KFL with microcoils? How does it compare to cotton
XC-116
I have. And I just took out what may very well be my last cotton wick from one of my cloneKFL's. This stuff wicks better (read: "faster") than cotton -- much like ekowool. Plus it is quite heat resistant, and so I am now running coils well below 1 ohm, which I was unable to do successfully in previous configurations using cotton. And then with likewise enlarged air pathways -- to accommodate the increased swifty hotness -- my CloneFunLites are now cloudier than ever. The taste of XC-116 is excellent; on par with cotton to be sure, and I don't have to rewick the thing every other tank anymore.
Cotton is limited by its speed. It is a great sponge, swelling far beyond its dry volume when soaked with juice, but it is that very material expansion tendency (plus its heat intolerance) which yields its limitations (at least within the KF design). You see, the fact that it can, and does, expand means that it takes a good bit of time for liquid to saturate the cotton from end to end, which is important when the juice resupply is happening well away from the coil. This is why, in my experience, cotton wicks in KFL's struggle mightily wickingwise to keep up with a particularly speedy sub-ohm heater.
The only kiln treated XC product that has been at all problematic for me is the much thinner XC-132. It is very delicate, will fray like the dickens and it will shear apart when I only just barely over tighten the coils. I have an R91 with a 0.9 ohm dual nanocoil of 0.5mm ribbon that has been running only decently. In this case, the exact same coil configuration wicked instead with cotton has performed far better.
^^ ronpaek100. I just was half asleep this am while posting. That is why i did go back and start to remove half my post.. My bad =/ I did go back and read the rules for ECF. I do see were my post jumped right over the rules. I was a bad bad member this morning & will not put my membership in harm. I am very sorry Dusty_D & members here. I am watching live stream of the MN sentate about to class vape gear same as cigarets. SF-2027 in MN I feel really bad this am. Once again sorry to members here for my conduct.
