Here is an exploded view of parts for the R91% All about the same, other then the R91 has an adjustable 510 pin. http://www.evcigarettes.com/the-russian-91-replacement-parts/

Hahahahahahahahahha ah it is I. I've probably lost at least 12 or 13 of those square deck insulators. I was here begging for sources many a times :D

In any case the special tool you speak of are:

    1) I bought 2 packs of 5 spares
    2) a seive lolololol

insulators found here. If you need to back your 510 out, then it makes contact with your device, or ohm reader. Your insulator might be thin. The above site has replacements, or you can try and make your own from a credit card. I do not think you have a "short" just a thin insulator, so your 510 pin is going into the atty to far. I hope this helps & i did not mean to offend with the new ish comment.

I just got 10 from them. I think it was about $13 with shipping. They're a perfect fit on my clones, but I haven't had to try one on my genuine KFL yet.

I've got a smaller version of that that just covers the drain in my sink. The Evil One bought it to reduce the level of whining/crying in the house ;)

OK. Credit card insulator, 6 wrap micro coil, 30 gauge, 1.7 ohms, wicked with organic cotton, filled with Ahlusion Maple Dream 50/50, on provari at 4.0 volts. Nice but muted flavor compared to my EVOD silica rebuilds. I could never get a cotton/micro with good flavor on protank heads, and this, as expected is similar.

    Next stop: silica wick.

You are looking for trouble. The original insulator centers the pot of the positive pin. Hopefully it will stay put while you wait for replacements.
Have to have something not right. Have done both builds, actally the only Cotton builds I do now are Kayfun. Way better flavor on mine than silica. Hmm...... wonders why the difference.

OK, I retract that. Flavor is really very good on this 1.8 ohm cotton wicked coil at 4.0 volts. What's the voltage range that works best for a 1.8 ohm microcoil for you guys?

I use a 1.8 ohm on a mech, so 3.7-4.0 for me. I know that's pretty low watts for some of these guys, but it's my sweet spot.

ok. anyone filling their KFL+ from the top?

I used to do that exclusively. Then I got an M tank and found out how much less juice you can get into a kayfun than if you filled from the bottom. That's cos the top cap is recessed and actually holds a solid amount of juice.

Using an M tank, even if I filled it right up to as far up as possible from the top, once I screw the top cap and turned it upside down, the air bubble is a lot bigger than I would have expected.

What's the worst that could happen? Hell, it's a brand new toy- had to check it out. I really think they shipped this one without an insulator. I would have seen it.

I am with Akdare, i only use a mech mod. But i build my KLites near .9-1.1 ohm range. If i had a vv/vw mod, i would start turning up the power once the cotton has broken in. I think you would be safe @ 4.5v. Just take your time, end enjoy. I am happy you got it going :)

Lol I have NO issue with your little hack, but since you asked, I'm guessing the worst that can happen is that you get a short when the centre post shifts and ends up touching the surrounding walls. Shorts are not good friends with mech mods. Nope

She's screwed in pretty tight. Hopefully all will be well till I get the replacements. How is the stock insulator different than the one i made?
