She's screwed in pretty tight. Hopefully all will be well till I get the replacements. How is the stock insulator different than the one i made?

Stock insulator has a cup built in that fits into the center opening. Isolates the pin shaft. Yea, your was likely missing. Most have to be pryed out.

I believe I have identified the problem: The kayfun Lite Plus you sent me did not include a Positive pole insulator or a center pin insulator, causing the failure to make contact described below. Will you please send me these missing parts?

They wrote back:

thanks for your mail about your ordered kayfun lite plus ;)...did you adjust the positiv pole on the 510 connection ? On the kayfun Lite Plus this isn´t possible because if you adjust this pole you ruin the main construction into the kayfun lite plus... Is it possible for you to send us a picture from your kayfun lite plus base ? than maybe we can see what the problem is :)

I use a 1.8 ohm on a mech, so 3.7 - 4.0 volts for me. I know that's pretty low watts for some of these guys, but it's my sweet spot.

I don't think that is unreasonably low power ... In fact, if you take your average voltage you posted above, you get 3.85 volts ... That's 8.2 watts to your coil.

I am using a 1.5 ohm coil in my Kayfun ... I have found the "sweet spot" for this coil to be exactly 3.5 volts ... That's also 8.2 watts to the coil.

Lol no. Only time I had to replace the base was when I lost it down the sink. My deck insulators are getting thin though.

Oh and the picture was a April fools joke by vaperev (insert troll face here)

Wow. That was brutal. You can't cocktease a fellow vaper like that

What are you guys doing to go through insulators so fast!? Mine look as good as the day I got it, and I've had one KFL for 6 months!

+1. My oldest one is about that old too and it still looks great. Not that I'm complaining of course :D

Have y'all been subohming on it? I can certainly see how that's gonna eat away the insulator eventually

I have a insulator eating drain in the kitchen and a sieve with holes in it.... bad combination!!

That's why I bought a nice little (ok not little since it had an 8 inch diameter) sieve. I've never had to use the spares I bought. :D
