Currently have a clone and a kfl v2 with this build. One with 100% VG (Boba's bounty) and one with 50/50. No flooding, no dry hits at all. And that's even at 1.3ohms and 4.2V.

Try it with twisted 28.. Yum.

Lol I did. But damned wires got waaaaaaay too fat and the resistance was far too low. Coiling more rounds to make up for it ended up giving me the longest heat up time ever. So. Yeah. Stuck on 32 I am. I'm not a sub-ohm kinda guy unfortunately

What resistance did that coil come out to?

I've had trouble with Boba's in my KFL V2. I would love to find a setup that can handle it. This might be worth a shot. I tried that link you provided with the pictorial, but Tapatalk said it was invalid (probly just tapatalk). Is that what you referenced for your build?

whoops. try this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...double-32ga-kanthal-vertical-coil-kayfun.html (same link, but posted on browser). Tapatalk's awful at following URLs

Im afraid if i did this ''chimney'' wick,i would get tons of juice down the hole.

Nopes. Hasn't happened to me. if you look at the pictorial in the link, you'll see that my little secret is just to leave the drill bit in during the wicking process; prevents congestion of the airhole as well as the wick leaking juice into the air hole. I've tried it with a 70PG30VG liquid and I don't get leaks or floods either :)

I think if you place the coil directly on the deck then it'd be alright. Think of how a carto is built. Its just like that really.

I def wouldn't recommend it. as a general rule of thumb for rebuilding, there should only be 2 metal parts in contact with a coil, and they are the 2 leads. having the coil sit directly ON the deck can lead to all kinda issues, such as varying resistance. And I can almost guarantee you'll either experience:
1) uber long heating time because the positive block is conducting heat away from the coil
2) if you're patient enough and the coil does heat up, you'll melt the insulator. (i speak from painful experience hhahahhahaha)

Not trying to argue, but I would swear I saw a Rip vid where he showed the chimney coil and had it sitting right on the air hole. As long as one is careful about the neg lead it looked like it would work. I do remember thinking it was sort of playing with trouble doing that. Also wonder if it made that great of a difference sitting directly on the air hole vs being elevated a bit.

at the 19:27 mark of the video, you'll see him lifting the coil off the deck

I'm not sure, but I've had it sit on my deck once, and I ended up with a half molten insulator. once bitten, twice shy. I never dared to try it again :p

UPDATE:

My 5th refill and wick/coil fiddling and man,i will tell ya all when this beast is workin proper its AMAZINMG.Did a fill 3 hours ago and no leaks or gurggling. After i filled it from the bottom i covered the air hole first and then tiltled upright, dont know if this plays apart in the vacum air pressure but so far im happy, again.I alos notice after every hit,a bubble appears in the bottom of my tank and floats to the top,a good sign i think.
