Sorry, I do not have a camera handy. Found this on Google but think it's from ECF. Gives a pretty good idea of what the wick looks like without the evap chamber on. You want the wick gently laying across the juice channel, but not actually pressed down in it. You'll get a feel for how much to push to get it the way you want.

Thanks for speaking up, Jerms..... I felt funny not being able to credit the owner. That was mine, one of my first builds.
I pretty much still do it the same. Except now I put the evap chamber on with the cotton ends sticking up, trim a little above the chamber, and just poke the ends down. I don't worry about making clearance for the channels. I also don't wet the wick first, just poke the dry ends down so they are laying in there.
Whether the channels are clear or not I get the same results, perfect wicking until the tanks empty. My Kayfun Lite isn't finicky or picky at all.

Haven't wetted my wicks yet. I was sticking them out the chimney an trimming them but this time to again try a new method (of the millions of others I epically failed at lol) I'll try yet again something new.
2.0 ohm on that coil by the way. Does the coil being upside down mean no bueno? Lol. I think it is now that I keep thinking about it but it glows middle to end and no hot legs or hot spots
i ordered the fasttech nano kit just for the top chimney parts on the 15th. Its now already processed through San Francisco.
Its shocking coming from fasttech.
