Hey T,
Your one ohm KFL on a Mech would have resulted in a 16+ watt config. The Kayfun has been unofficially said to perform well upto around 15 watts, that too if everything with the wick/coil combo is setup perfectly. In it's stock config, I don't think it has the capability to perform well in that configuration. Folks have widened their juice intake slots and or air intake in order to boost performance.
But I've been vaping comfortable on a .78 ohm coil at 22-25watts.

lol mine is less then 1/16 at 1.4mm ID and 0 wicking issues

Curious, what diameter are you wrapping your coils around?
I'm always at 1/16, and I find that if I chain vape, the vapor gets thinner and I can taste it approaching a burnt taste at maybe my 8th long drag.
My guess is that my wicking can't keep up when the id is 1/16, but I wanna be sure before I drag my lazy ... out to Home Depot to other sized drill bits

Just watched the build video. Not sure I'm fan of it. You gotta slot the leads through the ceramic cup, and align and slot the leads through these 2 metal holes at the base. Knowing my stubby clumsy fingers I could never do it.

Actually bro the Rose v2 was very easy to set up it was only complicated the first build because there was so many pieces and it was new just like the kayfun was the first time I build it, I find the Rose just as easy to rebuild as the kayfun.
I found some pics on a forum of the Rose being pushed to it's limits

I just picked up one of these for my first rba. I did a micro coil with cotton and came in around 1.5 ohms. I like the set up and it seems very easy to build on for first timers
