With my Trobeco 28 guage was great, but with the ephro I couldn't use it because it wouldn't hold under the mounting screws/electrodes.

Woke up today and both the trobeco and ephro tasted like burnt rayon. I'm done with the Kaylite, the Aerotank beats it on consistency and that's more important than the one out of ten builds that taste good.. Thanks for the help but my hands are just too old for the KLF.

Sorry you couldn't make it work Regal. I own genuine svoemesto Kayfuns and I cannot speak to the quality or performance of Tribeco or Ehpro. I can only say I have never experienced a single dry or burnt hit from my genuine KFL's and I have owned them for nearly a year. Good luck with your Aerotank.

I dropped my mod yesterday and the Kayfun on it came apart. The middle tank piece and the top cap popped off and while it didn't break, now the threads on it are loose. It still works and vapes and doesn't leak, however I can keep spinning the top metal tank piece and bottom without it ever locking. Any way to fix this? I also wish the Kayfun came with post holes, it's kinda hard to get coils on it sometimes.

Well I did order the premade coils from fastech, if that doesn't work I will take you up on the offer. I appreciate it just very frustrated with my old hand :)

the burnt flavor suggests inadequate wicking. so, unfortunately, I dont think changing the coils will help much. your kayfun just needs better wick placement/dimensions.

theres two choices at walgreens for cotton for my kayfun lite plus version 2, theres organic cotton balls whitened with hydrogen peroxide , and theres walgreens brand sterile cotton balls, 100% pure cotton, which do i use? both are in the medical section not makeup

I would use the one that's 100% pure cotton. Hydrogen peroxide doesn't sound good to vape. :)

I got one good tank out of the KF w/o a burnt taste.. I just rewicked and refilled, and after about 20 pulls, burnt... I can get 3-4 tanks of the same juice outta the rebuilt MT3S before needing to rewick.

Best bet is just to stick to it and keep practicing. Play around with the wicking and eventually it'll click. Pretty much once you get a feel of it, wicking a kayfun successfully WILL become effortless. It has a bit of a learning curve for sure.

Build right, many folks can vape a kfl past 20W without getting dry hits. I personally can't get past 20W tho.

Dunno.. unless theres a Freemason level secret to it nobody's showing, I just dont get it.. Shoot, AMDTrucking's build has more cotton than mine did when mine tasted like cotton.. I did the exact same build today, with the exact same amount of cotton (the other half of what I used the day before) placed in the same spot on the deck. Yesterday was good, today was bad.. Same juice. Same coil. Same battery.

Yes, tons of cotton or Rayon. And I use thicker 70% VG e-liquid.

Do you believe me now?

AMD.. Is that rayon?

This was Cotton. But I use Rayon as well. I'm just more use to Cotton, more familiar with it.
Kayfuns are the most user friendly RBA's IMO. You'll get it right. And once you do - It'll be like riding a bicycle...
Show some pictures. Maybe I could help you identify what's wrong.

Edit: That 0.5 Ohm build is 32 Watts on a Mech at 4 Volts - No dry hits at all.

Edit again: I don't know which method are you using in building your Kayfuns.
But here is the easiest and the most user error tolerant method (IMHO):
1. Wrap your micro coil any which way you do and put it on your Kayfun.
2. Thread a string of Cotton (Rayon) trough the coil. It should not be vary loose, but you should be able to pull it through without tearing it. Leave both ends of your wick as long as they are.
3. Lift the ends of your wick up and put the Chimney Well over the wick and screw the well onto the base.Making sure no cotton gets into the threads. Now you have a Chimney Well on and two pieces of cotton sticking through it.
4. Trim access cotton with scissors just what sticks out of the Chimney Well.
5. Using something long and thin (toothpick or blunt needle) tuck your wick down onto the deck on both sides very gently.
That's it. Prime it with some juice, assemble it, fill it up and vape. Just don't forget to put it on your Ohmmeter to make sure you didn't short your coil before firing it for the first time.

I hope this helps, but if you already knew that, then ignore it. I meant no disrespect.
